偏偏在1994年7月，队伍上大连的时候，老马并没有带着张琦同去大连，张琦被迫与朝夕相处的队员们分手了。那一次，张琦就与队员们生离死别了一回。老马带着张琦药单换来的1000万元，扬长而去。 现在，姑娘们跑回沈阳，重新投入了张琦怀抱。张琦归队，夫妇两地分居，于是这群女性更是相依为命在一起，就像一只母兔领着一群小兔，老的小的屡受惊吓，它们对自然界的食肉动物没有抵抗能力，一有动静马上支楞起耳朵，惊慌不已仓皇奔命。我在队里的那些日子，正逢队员们何去何从难以抉择心中苦不堪言的关头，她们依偎着张琦，对兴奋剂共同发愁，悲苦气氛浓得化不开。张琦内心也厌恶兴奋剂，她觉得如果再用下去，这帮孩子就会连她张姨一块儿恨。她怕，她怕伤害彼此的真情。可是，如果一点儿不用，这帮孩子照样会毁掉前程，从群众到领导都在向她们要成绩，她们的价值同运动成绩紧密相连分不开。张琦比她们多懂一点中国社会，所以同时陷入了两难境地，整日痛苦不堪，母兔小兔相对垂泪。近日在沈阳恢复训练，张琦早晚不离医务室，守着一口大锅，为孩子们熬中草药，然后舀到一个个茶缸里晾好，等待着孩子们训练归来，亲自看着她们不凉不烫地喝下去。每当这时，我就从张琦身上看到了中国女性足够的坚强和韧性。 她希望通过这些古老的虫虫草草能起到少许弥补作用，她认为靠队员们的老底子加上这些野果苦根，能给全队带来一点欢笑。 日子一天一天艰难渡过，外面的舆论久不平息，爆炒马家军持续升温，队员们的思想几度反复。母兔和小兔从沈阳到大连水上基地，好不容易熬到五月份，开赴太原一亮相，还是一场惨败，唯有王军霞一人奋勇夺取了5000米一块金牌。当时，我和张琦在看台上坐在一起，她先是扯着尖利的嗓子给王军霞加油，那声音像尖刀在玻璃上刺啦刺啦地划，撕心裂肺。直到王军霞冲刺夺冠，张琦的喊声就没有断过。继而以手捂脸，眼泪汪汪的，她哽咽着对我说：“这块金牌太不容易了，赵老师，我指天保证，王军霞真正没有用药，半点儿没用，我们太难了！”说着突然又笑：“这次比赛证明，王军霞不用药也能行！”说完又哭。兴奋剂啊兴奋剂，它把这支队伍的每一个人都整疯了。尽管她们有着足够的坚强。 在沈阳，在大连水上基地，姑娘们拼着老本儿训练，非常痛楚，但一致拒绝服用任何涉嫌药物。她们宁可不要成绩不再出名，也不愿再受药魔摧残。断断续续之间，她们对我的回忆诉说，凄婉悲凉，同时有一种长期憋屈一朝释放的感觉，仿佛她们从地狱里走了一圈，重新回到了人间。请注意她们悲切恐怖的诉说： “想想马导带队那阵儿，真是太悲惨了，一个正常人哪能用那么多药？一把一把的。我们的内脏都得过病，主要是肝上受药物影响太大。白天训练累得要死，晚上睡着后，还让肝疼把人疼得醒过来，刚睡着又疼醒了。马导为了让我们的内脏少给他添麻烦，为了保证持续训练，就让我们集体去做阑尾切除手术，不管有没有毛病，每人都要挨一刀！正常人谁受这个罪？” 我问：
