西边桓仁的老秃顶子，本溪的和尚帽子，都是好地方。可程斌叛变，当时撤离还来不及呢，如今是想都不用想了。南边临江地域狭窄，东边抚松杨靖宇不熟悉，也不宜去。况且，山野皆白，长途行军，极易被敌发现。携带给养不可能很多，势必为粮而战，自然暴露目标。难走难藏即难打，这不是施展游击战拳脚的季节，又逢这等规模的“大讨伐”，要紧的是避敌锋芒，保存实力，以待再战，而濛江具备这样的条件。 山高林密，原始森林，易于藏身。周边邻县，地理环境也大体相似。再往远了看，当时的通化、间岛、吉林3个伪省，濛江几近中心地带，这就使它有了广阔的回旋余地。实际上，以往冬季反“讨伐”，1路军经常进出濛江，以东、南、西、北泊子（“泊”音pai，泊子即大森林）为依托，能打就打，不能打就藏，颇得心应手。 濛江是1军独立师挺进东边道后，较早开辟的游击区、根据地，这时仍有70多处密营、医院、被服厂、军械所等等，分布在大山密林深处。这是其他地区不能比拟的。遍地“集团部落”，要度过漫长的冬季，密营是必不可少的。另外，境内还有两条秘密活动路线，一条以桦甸错草顶子为起点，经濛江西部到达临江，一条自桦甸沿松花江南下通往临江，沿途有联络点及粮仓。杨靖宇不断分兵，或者与敌遭遇后几路冲杀、突围，并不是盲目地乱打、乱走，而是“甩地点”，有计划、有目的、有路线的。 濛江是木帮云集之地，采伐季节，工人多则几万，少则数千。1军独立师南下辉发江的第一个落脚点，就是白浆河木场。把头、工人同情、支持抗联，保护木场的伪森林警察，有的也和1路军建立关系，有的木场就是联络点。1938年后，日伪加强山林统治，大发“进山证”，在木帮中安插特务，一时也难以改变这种天然的盟友关系。 但是，不断出现的叛徒，把一切都毁了。 这边调兵遣将，围追堵截，那边就去焚毁密营，有的留作诱饵，待部队奔去了，或是派人去取粮时，黑洞洞的枪口早等在那里了。 同样由于叛徒出卖，一路无论怎样不断分兵，也难以转移敌人视线。相对而言，倒是分出去诱引敌人、掩护总部的小部队，比较安全些。 久候不见朱文范、聂东华归来，杨靖宇明白他们出事了。 有人说，这时杨靖宇是要去找伊俊山。伊俊山这时率支30多人的小部队，好像在濛江的大四方顶子一带活动。而无论去哪里，找谁，或者在七个顶子等陈政委（原桓兴县委书记李明山）派人来，杨靖宇都必须首先解决吃的。这时他有3支手枪，牺牲后还有230发子弹，另有6660元钱。但他现在最需要的是吃的。如果他能吃顿饱饭，哪怕有个窝头，我们的民族英雄也可能不是我们已知的这个样子。 没人说得清接下来几天的情形，已知的是2月23日，杨靖宇出现在保安村三道崴子，见到了上山打柴的伪牌长赵廷喜等4个人。 当时，杨靖宇在个废弃的不大的砖窑里。这天是正月十七，赵廷喜等人是出官工，给东门外的日本飞机场打柴。不然，这种时节除了打猎，即便勤劳如我的祖辈，也不会进山干什么的。 杨靖宇让他们给买粮食和棉鞋，表示可以多给些钱。后来日本鬼子说是“要求四个砍柴的农民送来两袋面粉和棉鞋，并说可以多给钱，还拿出大捆的钞票给他们看”。赵廷喜等人说，你还是投降了吧，“满洲国”现在不杀投降的人。杨靖宇说，我是中国人，决不会向日本子投降，良心不允许我这样做，这样做对不起广大人民。 4个人答应了，约定了见面的地点。 临别前，杨靖宇说：中国人可不能出卖中国人哪。 回去的路上，赵廷喜见到了特务李正新。李正新似乎看出了什么，诈他，他就说了，他们就去伪村公所报告了。 丛茂山老人说，他在干妈家养伤，时间长了，他就告诉干妈，俺是红军。你说抗联，那人不大懂，说红军，就知道你是打日本子的队伍，不是胡子。胡子也打日本子，又祸害老百姓，老百姓怕胡子。
