Chapter 24 Section 7 Double-headed prefectures in the Eastern Jin and Southern Dynasties

"Wei Shu·Topographic Records" recorded the counties and counties under the jurisdiction of Yingzhou: "Ruyin and Yi [yiyi] Yang counties, Xiao Yan (Liang Wudi) set up Shuangtou counties and counties, and Wei Yinzhi." Qing Dynasty Scholar Qian Daxin explained in "Twenty-Two History Tests": "The two-headed county is one person acting as the governor of the two counties. This is Ruyin County, and Yiyang County is established overseas. "Song Zhi" called Tiezhi. "Song Shu Zhoujun Zhi" mentions Tie Zhi, such as Nandun Taishou of Southern Yuzhou, who placed a bet "Tie Zhi Chen Jun", and Yuzhou Xincai Taishou, who placed a bet "Tie Zhi Runan today". In the fourth volume of the Atlas of Chinese History, in the Song map of the fourth volume, Runan and Xincai counties and Chen and Nandun counties are respectively marked beside the present-day Runan and Shenli counties. In the Southern Song Dynasty, there were not only Shuangtou County, but also Shuangtou Prefecture. On the same map, most of Shandong Province at that time belonged to Qingzhou and Hebei Prefectures, and Qingzhou (now Qingzhou City) was governed; in today’s southern Shaanxi and northern Sichuan, there were Liang and Southern Qin Two states, where the government is located in Nanzheng (now Hanzhong City). The actual double-headed state had already appeared in the Eastern Jin Dynasty and the Sixteen Kingdoms period.Qingzhou of Qingzhou and Jizhou was originally called North Qingzhou.Soon after Liu Yu recovered, Beiqing and Jizhou were established as double-headed states, or governing Dongyang (now Qingzhou) or Zhilixia (now Jinan). Two-headed state. After Liu Yu's death, the area fell into the Northern Wei Dynasty, and later the division moved southward to today's Lianyungang City, which is the place where Qing, Yan, and Youzhou were governed when they retreated southward in the early Eastern Jin Dynasty.Liang, another double-headed prefecture in the Southern Dynasties, and Nanqin prefectures were also established as early as the Eastern Jin Dynasty. However, there were still few double-headed prefectures in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and there were more in the Southern Dynasties. The Shuangtou counties mentioned in "Topographic Records" may refer to Shuangtou County and its subordinate counties, and the number of counties under the jurisdiction of Shuangtou County also varies. In the Northern Wei Dynasty, Xincai and Nanchenliu counties, taken from the Southern Dynasties, only governed one county (Tongtong) Yang (north of Xincai County, Henan Province today), and the two counties jointly governed one county, which is a rare and strange thing throughout the ages.

Some people think that the five-class enfeoffment system was implemented in the Southern Dynasties and the early Song Dynasty, and the kingdoms of Gong, Hou, Bo, Zi, and Nan were widely established. In fact, this system had been implemented as early as the Jin Dynasty. That is, the Kingdom of Yidu (now west of Yichang City), Dangyang (now Dangyang, Hubei) Marquis State, Jiangling (now Hubei Jiangling) Boguo, Yiyang (now Henan Huangchuan) Ziguo, and Zi [zizi] Gui ( Today's Zigui, Hubei) Nanguo and other countries were closed. However, their food towns are very small, and they are different from those of the Han Dynasty.
