Chapter 5 Chapter 4 From Illusion to Reality

Mystery of Wisdom 奥修 14547Words 2018-03-20
Born 25 February 1973 in Bombay, India first question: In what way can the practice of "remembering yourself" change the mind? Man is not centered in himself. He is centered when he is born, but society, family, education, culture, etc. push him out of the center, whether intentionally or unintentionally, they push him out of the center in a very cunning way, So in a sense everyone becomes "ecA centric" - off-center.There is a reason for this, it is a reason for survival. When a child is born he has to be forced to undergo certain training. The society cannot set him free. If the society sets him completely free, he will remain in the center -- spontaneously, living with himself, living by himself. He will be as he is, he will be real, then there is no need to practice any "remembering yourself", no need to practice any meditation, because he will not be off center, he will stay with himself -- To be centered, to be rooted, to be grounded in one's own nature, but such a thing is not yet possible. Therefore, meditation is medicinal. Society creates disease, and then that disease has to be cured.

Religion is medical. If a human society based on freedom can really be developed, then there is no need for religion. It is because we are sick that we need medicine. Because we are off-center, we need the method of returning to the center. It is possible to create a healthy society on Earth - healthy in the inner sense, then there will be no religion, but it seems difficult to create such a society. Little children have to be trained, and when you are training a little child, what are you doing? You are forcing something that is unnatural to him, you are demanding and demanding something that he cannot do spontaneously, you will punish him, you will reward him, you will bribe him , you will do everything to socialize him, to take him away from his natural being; you will create a new center in his mind that never existed, and this center will grow, and then that natural center is annihilated into unconsciousness.

Your natural center goes into the unconscious, into the darkness, and your unnatural center becomes your consciousness. In fact, there is no division between unconsciousness and consciousness, that division has been created. You are a consciousness. This separation occurs because your own center is pressed into some dark corner, and even if you are not in contact with it, society does not let you in contact with it, and you yourself become unaware that you have a center.Society, culture, and family teach you how to live, and you live accordingly. You are living a false life and to live this false life you need a false center, and that center is your ego, your conscious mind, and that is why, whatever you do, you never feel Joy, because only the true center can happen, only the true center can explode, reach the culmination and best possible state of joy. That false center is a game of shadows, you can play with it, you can use it to hope, but in the end, you will get nothing but frustration, with a false anxiety that things must will be so.

In a way, everything is forcing you not to be who you are, and saying it's wrong doesn't change the fact that society has its own needs. When a child is born he is like an animal -- spontaneous, centered, grounded in his own nature, but he is so independent, he cannot be part of an organization, he is disruptive, He has to be forced, brought up, changed, and in this upbringing he has to be pushed out of the centre. The part of us that lives around, we only live as far as society allows us, our freedom is false because the rules of that game, the rules of that social game are so deeply fixed that you may feel like you are choosing this or That, but you are not choosing, the choice comes from your educated mind, and this goes on in a mechanical way.

I think of a man who married eight women in his lifetime. He married a woman, then divorced, and then married another woman—very carefully, very, very carefully, so as not to fall into the old trap again, he calculated in every way, he thinks that now The woman will be completely different from the first one, but within a few days, even before the honeymoon period is over, the new woman begins to prove herself to be just the same as the old one, just like the first one, in six months. Within a month, that marriage broke up again, and he married a third woman again, more cautiously this time, but the same thing happened again.

He has been married to eight women, but every time the woman turns out to be the same as the old one, what happened? And he chose so carefully, what happened? The one who chooses is unconscious, he cannot change the one who chooses, the one who chooses is always the same, so the one who chooses will be the same, the one who chooses is working unconsciously. You keep doing this and that, you keep changing the outer things, but you remain the same, you remain off-center, and whatever you do, however different it may appear, eventually it will prove itself It is the same, the result is always the same, the result is always the same.

Whenever you feel that you are choosing, that you are free, that you are not free, that you are not choosing, that choice is also a mechanical thing, scientists say - especially biologists say that the mind will Being imprinted in a certain pattern, and that imprinted pattern happens very early in life, the second or third year after birth is when the pattern is imprinted, and then things are fixed in the mind, and then You just keep doing the same pattern, you keep repeating mechanically, you move in a vicious circle. A child is forced off center, he has to be trained, he has to learn obedience, that's why we place so much value on obedience, and obedience destroys everyone, because obedience means now you are not the center, someone else is the center, you just go follow him.

In order to survive, education is a necessity, but we use this survival need as an excuse for obedience, we force everyone to obey, what does it mean?To whom? There is always someone else -- father, mother, there is someone else and you have to obey him, why insist on obeying? For when your father was a child, he was forced to obey; when your mother was a child, she was also forced to obey; Little children do the same thing, and these little children will do the same thing to their next generation, and this vicious circle is going on. Freedom is stifled, and with freedom stifled you also lose your center, not that the center is destroyed, while you are alive it cannot be destroyed, if it is destroyed that is fine, You will be able to be more at ease with yourself, if you are totally false and there is no center of truth hidden in you, you will be at ease, there will be no conflict, no anxiety, no fight .The conflict arises because the real remains there, it remains in the center, and the unreal center is only created around the parts, and between these two centers there is a constant struggle, constant anxiety and Tension is created, this has to be changed, and this change can only be done in one way: the false has to disappear and the real has to be given place, you have to be re-grounded in your center, in your being, otherwise you will be in in excruciating pain.

The false can disappear, but the real cannot disappear unless you pass away. When you are alive, the real will be there, society can only do one thing: it can suppress it, it can create a block so that you become even unconscious of it, you can recall life Was that moment in which you were spontaneous? Can you recall a moment in your life when you are living in the present moment, are you living by yourself instead of following another person? I was reading the memoirs of a poet whose father died and his body was in a coffin, and the poet, the son was crying, and all of a sudden, he kissed the forehead of his dead father and said, "Since you are dead, I will To be able to do that, I've always wanted to kiss your forehead, but when you're alive, that's impossible, and I'm afraid of you."

You can only kiss a dead father, and even if a living father lets you kiss, that kiss will be false, it cannot be spontaneous, a young boy cannot even kiss his mother spontaneously , because the sexual fear is always there, even with the mother, the body cannot be too close, there is always fear and falsehood, there is no freedom, there is no spontaneity, and the real center is only when you are spontaneity, and It is free to function. Now you can understand my approach to the question: "In what way can the practice of remembering yourself change the mind?" It will re-ground you in your own center, it will re-root you in your own center.By remembering yourself you forget everything but yourself, society, the crazy world around you, family and relationships, everything you forget and just remember that you are.

This "remembering" is not given to you by society, this "remembering yourself" will detach you from everything around you, if you can remember, you will turn back to your own nature, back to your The center of yourself, the ego will just be around, but then you will be able to see it as if you were looking at anything else, you will be able to observe it, once you become able to observe your ego, observe your false Center, you will never be false again. You may also need your false center because you live in a false society, but then you will be able to use it and you will not identify with it, now it will be instrumental and you will rely on your Come live from the center, you will live in your center, you will be able to use that false as the convenience and habit of society, but you will not identify with it, now you know you can be spontaneous, you know you are free , "remembering yourself" can change you because it gives you the opportunity to be yourself again, and being yourself is the ultimate, being yourself is the absolute. The culmination of all possibility and all potential is "the divine" or whatever you want to call it, God is not somewhere in the past, it's your future, you've heard it said over and over again: God is the Father, more than that, it will be your Son, not the Father, because it will be developed by you, so I say, "God-Son" because the Father is in the past and the Son is in the future. You can become divine, divinity can be born of you, if you become your true self, you have taken the most fundamental step, you are already moving towards divinity, towards total freedom. As a slave, you cannot go there; as a slave, as a false human being, there is no path that will lead you towards "the divine", towards the ultimate possibility, towards the ultimate flowering of your being.First you have to be centered in yourself, "remembering yourself" can help, and remembering yourself alone can help, nothing else can change you, with a false center there will be no growth, There is only accumulation, and remember the difference between accumulation and growth. With a false center you can accumulate, you can accumulate wealth, you can accumulate knowledge, you can accumulate anything without growth, growth happens only in the true center, growth is not an accumulation, you are not burdened by growth , but accumulation is a burden. You can know many things and know nothing, you can know many things about love but you don't know love, then it is an accumulation, if you know love, then it is growth, you can Know a lot about love with a false center, but you can only love with a true center, and the true center matures, and the false one can only grow bigger and bigger without any growth, without any maturity, The false is just cancerous growth, just accumulation, like a disease, which makes you carry a burden. But you can do one thing, you can completely change your focus, your eyes can move from the false to the real. This is what it means to "remember yourself": whatever you are doing, remember yourself, remember "you are", don't forget it, that remembering will give a certainty to whatever you are doing. entity. If you are loving first remember you are, otherwise you will love from that false center, from that false center you can only pretend, you cannot love, if you are praying remember you first Yes (you exist), otherwise that prayer will be meaningless, just a deception; you are not deceiving anyone else, you are deceiving yourself. First remember that you are, and this remembering "I am" has to become so basic, like a shadow that follows you, and then even in sleep it enters and you remember. If you can remember it all day long, gradually it will even enter your dreams, enter your sleep, and you will know to say "I am". When one day even when you sleep you will be able to know that you are, you have grounded your center, now the false is gone, it is not a burden for you, now you can use It, it is instrumental, you are not its slave, you become the master. Krishna once said in the "Gita" (Gita): When everyone is sleeping, the yogi is not sleeping, he is awake. It does not mean that the yogi can live without sleep, Because sleep is a biological need, a physical need, it means "I am", it means that even when he sleeps he can remember "he is".Sleep is just around, and in the center, that "remember" is there. A yogi remembers even while sleeping, and you don't remember yourself even when you are awake. You are walking on the street, but you don't remember "you are", try it, you will feel some kind of quality change: try to remember "you are", suddenly a new lightness will come On you, the heaviness disappears, you become weightless, you are thrown out of the false center and back again into the real center, but it is difficult and laborious because we are so grounded in that false center. , so it will take time, but transformation is not possible if remembering yourself does not become effortless for you.You have to start remembering yourself, otherwise transformation is impossible. second question: Last night you said that one should always look at the positive aspects of life and not focus on the negative. Isn't that a choice?Isn't that a violation of being in the face of all reality - that is -? Its a choice, but a negative person cannot jump to no choice, if he can do that, that is fine, but that is impossible, from negative it is impossible to jump to no choice, because of the negative mind It means you can only see the ugly, you can only see death, you can only see misery, you cannot see any positive elements in life, remember, it is very difficult to let go of misery. It may sound strange when I say this, but it is difficult to jump out of misery, it is easier to jump out of happiness, it is easier to jump when you are happy, because happiness arises Courage; with joy, a higher possibility of joy opens; with joy, the whole world will seem like a home. With misery, the whole world is like a hell and there is no hope, everything is hopeless, then it is impossible for you to dance. In misery one becomes a coward, one clings to misery because at least this misery is known to you. You cannot take risks when you are not happy, and taking risks requires some subtle joy in you, then you can leave that which is known to you.You are so happy that you are not afraid of the unknown, happiness has become such a deep phenomenon for you that you know that wherever you go, you will be happy, with a positive mind, you Know that there is no hell, that wherever you are there will be heaven, and you can go into the unknown, because you know that heaven is moving within you. You've heard things like going to heaven or going to hell, it's absurd, no one goes to heaven, no one goes to hell, you carry your own hell or heaven with you, wherever you go you carry Enter with your hell or heaven, heaven and hell are not doors, they are burdens and you carry them with you. Only with a dancing heart - happy, blissful, positive, you can jump into the realm of no map, that's why I say, you can't go from negative to choiceless .You are attached to your misery, it is known to you, you are familiar with it, you are related to it.It's better to stay with the known misery than the unknown, at least you've gotten used to it, you've known its ways, you've created some sort of defense mechanism - an armor around you, It keeps you safe in the midst of misery. An unknown misery will require you to create new defense mechanisms, and it is better to be with a known misery than with an unknown misery. With happiness it becomes quite the opposite. With happiness one wants to go into the unknown happiness, because the known has become boring. You are never bored with the known misery, you will Enjoy it, watch people talk about their misery, they are enjoying it, they exaggerate their misery, they have a subtle joy. With joy you will be bored, you can go into the unknown, the unknown is tempting, to the unknown, no choice is a doorway, that is how one has to go: from negative to positive, from positive To no choice.First, make your mind positive, and from hell you can go to heaven, and from heaven you can go to Moksha -- to "the ultimate," which is neither heaven nor hell.Going from misery to joy, only then can you go to that which is beyond, which is beyond both, that's why the scriptures say, first change your mind from negative to positive, and then It's just a change of focus.Life is both, or neither, it is both, or neither! It depends on you, or how you look at it, you can look at it with a negative mind, then it looks like hell, but it is not hell! It's just your interpretation. Change your outlook, look positively, that's what theist attitude is.I don't call a person a theist or an atheist just because he believes in God or doesn't believe in God. If his attitude is positive, I call him a theist; if his attitude is negative, I call him a theist. Call him an atheist, the problem is not that he said "no" to God, the problem is that he said "no" to life.A theist is a person who says yes, and he sees from the mind of yes all the time, then everything changes completely. If a person with a negative mind comes to a rose garden, there are many roses there, but he will just count the thorns. For the negative mind the first thing is the thorns, only the thorns are meaningful, the flowers are illusion, only the thorns are real, he will count, of course, every flower has a thousand thorns Existence, once he has counted a thousand thorns, he cannot believe in a flower, he will say that this flower is an illusion, how can such a beautiful flower exist with such an ugly thorn, such a rough thorn Woolen cloth? That is impossible, that is unbelievable, and even if it exists it is meaningless. A thousand thorns are counted, so the flower disappears. A positive mind starts with the rose, with the flower, and once you have a deep communion with the rose, once you know its beauty, its life, its unearthly flowering, the thorns disappear. To one who knows the beauty of the rose, one who knows the highest possibility of the rose, one who looks into it, even thorns do not look like thorns; eyes full of roses are different, and with it, the thorns Looks like protection for flowers, they are not the enemy, they just look like part of the flower. Now the mind will know: These thorns are needed for the flower to take place, they are protective, because of the thorns the flower can take place. This positive mind will feel grateful even for thorns, and if this way deepens, a moment will come when the thorns will become flowers. In the first way, the flower disappears, or the flower even becomes a thorn.Only with a positive mind you can achieve a state of mind that is not tense. With a negative mind you will remain tense because there is so much misery around you. The delusional mind will continue to manifest misery upon misery, hell upon hell. In Buddha's time there was a really famous teacher, his name was Sanjaya Vilethiputta, he was an absolutely negative thinker, Buddha thought of seven hells; someone ran to Sanjaya Vilethiputta Veretipta told him that the Buddha said that there are seven hells, and Shanjaya Veretipta said: "Go and tell your Buddha that he doesn't understand anything. There are seven hundred hells. He knows everything." I don't understand! Only seven? There are seven hundred hells, and I've counted them all." If you have one negative mind, even seven hundred is not much, you will find more, it is endless.A positive mind cannot be tense. In fact, if you are positive, how can you be tense, and if you are negative, how can you not be tense?A negative mind cannot be combined with meditation. A negative mind is anti-meditation. It cannot meditate. One mosquito is enough to destroy all meditation. With a negative mind, it is necessary to achieve calmness, The door of stillness, of stillness is closed, and the negative mind perpetuates its own misery. How can it jump to no choice?J. Krishnamurti goes on talking about no choice, and those listeners are negative, they listen, but they never understand, and when they don't understand, Krishnamurti is troubled because they Don't know him, only positive mind can understand what he is saying, but a positive mind doesn't need to go anywhere, doesn't need to go to any Krishnamurti, doesn't need to go to any Osho, where There is no need to go, only negative minds will look for teachers or masters. To a negative mind it is pointless to talk about no choice, to talk beyond duality, to talk about living in both negative and positive, not that it is not true, it is true, but it is pointless. The listener has to be taken into account, he is more important than the speaker. From what I see, you are negative, first you need to change to positive, you have to go from saying "no" to saying "yes", you have to look at life with a "yes" attitude, with a A "yes" attitude and this earth is totally transformed, only when you achieve a positive attitude, you will be able to jump to no choice, and that will be easy, very easy! Misery cannot be dropped, it is difficult, you are attached to it, only happiness can be dropped, because you know that when you drop the negative you get the positive and a positive happiness. You drop the negative, and you get happiness, just by dropping the negative, you can achieve happiness, if you drop this happiness now, and drop this positive mind at the same time, you open up to "that Infinity" door, but you must first have a positive feeling, only then can you jump. Third question: In yesterday's final technique, you explained that in this "Mayer" world, the consciousness within the seeker is the only real center for him, and with that in mind, please explain the role of the Guru in Meaning in this Mayer world. The Mayer (illusion) world is not Mayer's world to you, it is very real, and the guru's role is to show you that it is not real.It is real to you, so how can you think it is not real?Only when you have glimpsed the real can you think of the unreal, because only then can you compare. The world is not Maye to you, you have heard, you have read that the world is Maye, and you may remember it like a parrot, so you also call this world illusion, there is a world called The man of illusion comes to me every day and he says, "My mind is very troubled, I am very tense, so tell me how to achieve peace of mind?" And this world is "an illusion", if this world is an illusion, you How can your mind be tense? If you know that the world is an illusion, the world disappears, and all its misery disappears with the world, but the mind remains. You do not know that this world is illusionary! In the morning, when sleep disappears, dreams disappear with them. Do you worry about dreams at this time?Do you worry about saying that you get sick or even die in your dreams? When the dream is going on, you are worried, you are uncomfortable, you are asking the doctor for a prescription, but in the morning, when you no longer sleep and the dream has disappeared, you are not worried, now you Knowing it's a dream and you're not sick, if someone comes to me and says, "I know my sickness is a dream, but now please tell me: where can I get the medicine for that sickness?" It shows what?It shows that he is still sleeping, it shows that he is still dreaming, the dream is still there. In India, the parrot-like saying that "this whole world is an illusion" has entered people's minds, but it stays in that false center, it is not a growth. We have heard the Upanishas, the Vedas and some sages have been saying for centuries that this world is an illusion, and they promote that concept so strongly that those who sleep and dream think that They are awake, the whole world sleeps, but their misery manifests that this world is real, their anguish manifests that this world is real. The role of the guru is to give you a glimpse of what is real, it is not a teaching, it is an awakening, the guru is not a teacher, the guru is an awakener, he does not give you dogmas, if he gives you dogmas, he is a philosopher , if he talks about the world, says it is illusory, and argues and proves that the world is illusory, if he discusses, argues, if he gives you dogma intellectually, then he is not a guru, he is Not a master, he may be a teacher, a teacher of a certain doctrine, but he is not a master, not a guru. A guru is not a giver of dogmas, he is a giver of methods, he gives you methods that will help you to come out of your sleep, that's why a guru is always a person who disturbs your dreams. It is not easy to live with a guru, it is very easy to live with a teacher, because he never bothers you, on the contrary, he will continue to increase your accumulation of knowledge, and he will help you to become more of yourself He will make you more learned, your ego will be more satisfied, now you know more, you can argue more, you can teach yourself. But the master is always a disturber, he will disturb your dream and your sleep, and you may be having a very beautiful dream, you may be taking a trip, a beautiful trip, but he will disturb it, and you will be angry. The guru is always in danger from the disciples, any moment they may kill him, because he will disturb, his work is like that, as you are now, he cannot help you to be yourself, because you is false, he has to destroy your false identity, and that is painful, that's why -- unless there is very deep love -- that work is not possible.A very deep intimacy is needed, otherwise there will be hatred. So a guru cannot bring you close to him. Unless you have surrendered, you will become an enemy. A guru can only work when you have surrendered completely. Because that is a spiritual surgery. The disciple will suffer a lot out of need, and if he is not in a deep intimacy with the guru, that is impossible, he will not be ready to suffer so much; he has come to find joy , and the master gave him pain; he came to feel happiness, and the master created a hell for him.In the beginning, hell will be there, because your imagination will be shattered, your expectations will be shattered.Whatever you have known, you have to drop it, whatever you are, he will destroy it, in fact, you are experiencing death. In ancient India we said a guru or guru was a dead man, and he was!Unless you trust Him completely, this surgery will not be possible, because in the beginning there will be suffering, your anguish will surface, all your repressed hell will be revealed, and only When you believe, only when you have deep faith and trust in him, you will be able to be with him, otherwise you will run away because he disturbs you completely. So, remember, the work of the guru is, his role is to make you aware of your falsehood, and because of your false center your world becomes false. The world is not really illusory, it is not maye, it is maye because your eyes are illusory, your eyes are full of dreams, you project your dreams everywhere and the real existence is falsified. When your eyes are real, this same world will become real, and when that false center is broken and you are rooted again into your true center, into your being, this world will become nirvana . Zen masters go on and on saying that this world is nirvana, this world is moksha (liberation), it's just a question of your vision. With a false eye everything is false, with a true eye everything is real, your false entity creates a false world around you, don't think that you are all living in In the same world, you can't do this!Everyone lives in his own world, there are as many worlds as there are minds, because each mind creates its own world, its own environment, even if you live in the same family and the husband lives in His own world, and the wife lived in her own world, and the two worlds collided with each other every day, they never met, they collided -- meeting was impossible. With the mind there is no meeting, only collision and conflict. When the mind is not there there is a meeting possible. The wife lives in her own world, living in her own expectations, the husband is not the real husband to her, he is only her own imagination; the husband lives in his own world, the real wife is not his Madame, he had a madam's imagination.Whenever the wife falls short of his imagination, there is a struggle, conflict, anger and hatred, he loves the wife of his own imagination and the wife loves the husband of her own imagination, both are illusions, they does not exist. The real wife is there and the real husband is there, but they cannot meet because between these two real people there is the unreal wife and the unreal husband, they are always there, they don't let Real people meet.
