The way of white clouds 奥修 10354Words 2018-03-20
May 21, 1974 Whatever you do, be total You have told us to surrender completely to the master, but there are often reasons why we do not follow your instructions exactly, for example, we say: the master does not know that the situation has changed, the master does not understand The real situation in the West. Should we follow everything the master says, or sometimes we can use our own decision? You have to follow one of the two exactly, or none at all.Don't make any compromises because anything with half heart is not only useless but harmful, anything with half heart divides you and that is harm. You have to remain one undivided unity.

So, or total surrender...then no need to think anything on your part, just follow blindly, I emphasize the word "blindly", as if you don't have eyes, let the one who has eyes guide you , then you will remain an undivided unity. When you are undivided, when you are whole, you grow. Or, if you feel that this is impossible, this cannot be done, then don't follow at all, then do exactly what you want, and you will also remain undivided. Remaining undivided is the ultimate goal, both are fine, it ends up being the same.If you can be alone, without a master, if you can follow your own consciousness, wherever it leads you, it is the same, the result is the same, so it depends on you.

But the mind keeps saying: do both. The mind will say: follow what the master says, but think about it, and only follow what you think is right. What is this to follow? What kind of surrender is this? If you are the referee, if you decide to say what to follow and what not to follow, what kind of surrender is that? What kind of trust is this? Then better follow your own consciousness, don't cheat, at least there will be no cheating, otherwise you will go on following your own way and you think you are following the Master's way. If you are the determining factor, if you have to choose, if you have to drop something and accept something, then you are following your own way, but you can create that impression around you, or you It is possible to deceive yourself that you are following the way of the master, then it will have no result, you will not grow, because through deception there is no growth.

You will become more and more confused, because if it is up to you to decide what to do or not to do, if you have to choose from within your master's guidance, you will create a confusion, because every time the master guides You, whose guidance has an organic unity, each instruction is related to another, it is a condensed whole, you cannot abandon something and follow something, in doing so you will It will be a ruin, a wreck.Even if just one thing is rejected, the whole thing is disrupted, and you don't know how things are related to each other. So, here's my advice to you: Keep it as one unit, not divided.Decide, if you must decide, then you decide: I am going to follow my own way, then there is no surrender, there is no need for it!

This is what Krishnamurti has been saying for forty or fifty years: don't follow. One can reach without following anybody, but the path is laborious and long because you are not ready to accept any help that can be given to you; there is no guidance, and while that is possible, it can be eliminated in that path. many unnecessary difficulties. This is what Krishnamurti keeps saying, but no one is doing it, and this is the difficulty of the mind, the mind can accept "don't follow", not because it understands, but because not following anyone is very satisfying to the ego.Nobody wants to follow anybody, deep down the ego resists.

So around Krishnamurti, all the egoists gather there, and again they deceive themselves, they think they are not following anyone, because they have understood the fallacy of following, they have understood that the path must Go alone, they have learned that it is impossible to get help from others, no one can help you, no one can guide you, you have to go alone. They think they have understood this and that is why they are not following anybody, that is not true, they are cheating, they are not following because their ego is not following. But they still went on listening to Krishnamurti's speeches.Over the years, they all went to hear him speak again and again. Why do you go to lectures over and over again if there's no way it's going to be of any help? What's the point of listening to him over and over again if no one can guide you?It doesn't make sense.

Even this attitude - this attitude that you have to go that path alone - is not discovered by you, it is shown to you by Krishnamurti.Deep down, he has become your master, but you go on saying that you are not following. This is a deception. The same deception can happen from the opposite direction, you come to me, you think you have surrendered, but you still go on choosing. If I say something that suits you - that means: it suits your ego - then you follow it; if I say something that doesn't suit your ego, you start rationalizing: this Maybe not for me.So you feel that you have surrendered, but in fact you have not surrendered.

People around Krishnamurti think they are not following anyone, but they are following; you are around me, think you are following me, but you are not following me, mind is always a deceiver, whatever It can deceive you wherever you go, so be alert. I want to tell you: You can reach without following, but the road will be very, very lonely, very, very long, it must be so, but one person can reach it, it is not impossible, someone has already reached it, myself Arriving without following, you can also arrive, but remember, that non-following should not become a kind of ego gratification, otherwise you will never arrive.

Whether you have a master or not is not the basic point. The basic point is the ego, your ego.If there is no ego, you can reach even without a master; if there is ego, not even a buddha can guide you.Either follow completely, or not follow at all, the point is complete, it is up to you to decide. Remain undeceived by the mind, go deep within yourself, be aware of what you are doing, and if you are going to surrender, then you surrender. I remember once in Godziford's group, he was doing kung fu with some of his disciples. That thing requires absolute surrender, and Godzford told them that whatever he said, they had to follow, and he was helping them with an exercise he called the "stop training," and whenever he yelled, "stop!" No matter what you are doing, you must stop.

For example, say you are walking and one foot is on the ground, and he says, "Stop!" you have to stop there; or you are talking, and your mouth is open, and he says, "Stop!" You have to open your mouth and stay there, you cannot change it, you cannot adjust your posture to make it more comfortable, because that is a deception, you cannot deceive anyone but yourself. Once, all of a sudden, one morning, people were doing some exercises outside the tent, and some guy was passing by a nearby canal, and suddenly he yelled, "Stop!" -- he was inside the tent himself -- so the people stopped.Four people were walking through the canal, it was a dry canal, there was no water in it, so they stopped, but suddenly, someone turned on the tap and the water started flowing in.

They start thinking: what to do?Because Godziford was inside the tent, he didn't know that they were standing in the canal, and the water was flowing in the canal, but they were waiting there because the mind could wait until a certain moment. When the water was up to their necks, one man jumped out and said, "It's too much, and Godzford himself didn't know it, and then the water level in that canal rose again, and when the water was close to their noses, there were two other men." Individuals jumped away because any further they would be drowned, it is easy to rationalize this. You will do it too, because they are dying and the master is in the tent, he doesn't know! There was only one man left, the water ran over his head, he continued to stand, and then Godzford rushed out of his tent and led him out of the canal, he was almost passed out, and the water had to be pressed out of him, He almost died. But when he opened his eyes, he had become another person, the old person was dead, it was a metamorphosis, he became completely different. In that moment of death, what happened? He accepted the master, he rejected his own mind and rationalizations, he rejected his own desire to survive, he rejected his own innermost biological survival instinct, he rejected everything, he said: When the master Shouting "Stop!", I have to stop so that nothing can move me. It must be very very difficult, almost impossible, but when you do the impossible, you are transformed, you are already dying, he has not allowed the mind to interfere, death is there, but he accepts death, and Not accepting his own mind and judgment. From then on, he was no longer the same person, and since then no one has encountered the old person again. And then others learned that they missed a great opportunity, those three people who jumped out of the canal missed a great opportunity. This is total surrender, it is not a question of whether it engages your mind, it is not a question of your mind saying yes or no.When you surrender, you have given up all possibility of saying "no", no matter what the situation is, you will never say "no", a complete "yes" is surrender, very difficult! That's why transformation is so difficult, so not easy, that's why spiritual birth is so not easy. But I'm not saying you can't get there alone, you can get there alone, you can get there with a master, you can get there in a group, you can get there as an individual, all possibilities are open, I'm neither Go for this, not for that, it's up to you to decide, don't do it with any deceit. Remember it's not a matter of East and West, deep down the mind is the same, all the differences are only on the surface, East or West is only on the surface, they may be cultural or racial, But they are only on the surface, deep down, the human mind is the same, it doesn't matter where you come from. Surrender, or be completely alone, but both paths can only be taken by the total person. Buddha reached enlightenment alone, and many people followed Buddha to achieve the same enlightenment. I am not a supporter of a particular sect, I do not say like Krishnamurti: there is only this way.I am not the same as Mr. Meihe He said: There is only this way.I know why they say it's the only way. They were meant to help me, and once you know that there is another way, confusion arises in you, and you start to waver, sometimes you think this, sometimes you think that. That's why the masters have been saying: only this way -- just so that your mind doesn't get confused, otherwise the opposite also attracts you and you go on changing your point of view.In order to make you complete, Master has always emphasized a path. But I want to say, both are fine, why?Because that emphasis is getting old, you've heard most of it: this is the only way.It has become a dead cliché, and now it doesn't help anymore. It has helped in the past, now it cannot help because the world has become very unified, the earth has become a global village, religions know each other, all the ways have become known, Mankind is now familiar with paths, possibilities, and alternatives. In the past, people only knew one way, the way that was handed down from their own tradition, so it is good to emphasize that "this is the only way", so that their minds can have confidence in it, have trust, But that is no longer the case.Hindus read the Koran, Christians come to India for guidance, and Muslims know the Gita and Vedas. All the ways are already known and there is a lot of confusion and now anyone who says "this is the only way" can't be helpful because you know there are other ways and you know that there are other ways to get there Or is arriving, so I don't emphasize any pathway. If you surrender, you can accept my help, if you don't surrender, you can also accept my help, but you have to be very clear about it.If you choose the path of surrender, then you must follow me completely, if you choose not to surrender, then you can also decide that I can be a friend on the path, no need to see me as a master, I can just be a friend on the path, Or not even a friend. You are searching, you meet a total stranger, a stranger, and you ask him: where is the river?Which way should I take to get to the river? When he tells you, you thank him, and you move on.I can be just a stranger, and I don't even need to be a friend, because for a friend, you are also involved. You can use my help, my help is unconditional. I don't say: do this and then I will help you.I don't say: Surrender, only then will I help you.But I must say: do whatever you like, but do it completely. If you are total the transformation is closer, if you are split then it is almost impossible. This guy also has no beard Beloved Master, when Va Kun saw a picture of Bodhidharma with a beard, he complained: Why doesn't this guy have a beard? Master Osho, why don't you grow a beard? The Zen tradition is indeed beautiful, Bodhidharma has a beard, but a disciple asked: why doesn't this guy have a beard? This is a beautiful question, only a Zen disciple would ask such a question, because the beard belongs to the body, not to Bodhidharma, and that guy has no beard, because the body is just an abode. Obviously, the question looks ridiculous, but it makes sense, and questions like this have been asked many times. The Buddha has been speaking, morning, evening, afternoon, in this village, in that village, or traveling, for 40 years, he has been speaking, and then one day, Shariputra asked, do you Why keep silent?why don't you speak to usThis is obviously absurd! And the Buddha smiled and said, you are right. This man talks all the time, no one talks as much as Buddha, but Sariputta is right, because this talk is only happening on the surface, and Buddha is really silent. Zen Master Linji used to say that the Buddha was never born, never walked on this earth, and never died—he was just a dream, and he would go to the temple every day to bow to the statue of Buddha! Then someone said: Linji, are you crazy?Every day you are saying that this man was never born, never died, and never walked on this earth, yet you go to the temple and bow down to his statue. Lin Chi said: Because this man was never born, never walked on this earth, and never died, so I bow to his statue. The questioner continued: We don't understand, either you are crazy, or we are crazy, but we don't understand, what do you mean? Linji said: This person's birth was just a dream to him, walking on the earth was just a dream to him, death was not real to him, it was just the end of a long dream, and this person, he The center of nature is beyond birth and death. It is said that Buddha stayed in the seventh heaven all the time, he never came down, only his reflection was here, it is true! This is also true for you, you have never come down, only the image has come down, but you become so identified with that image that you forget, you think you have come down, you cannot come down from your being, There is no way it can fall off. But you can look at a river, you can see that reflection, and you become so identified with it that you think you are the water under the surface, and you can suffer from it, you can feel suffocated, you can Feeling like you're dying, when in fact you've been standing on the shore, you've never been in the water, there's no way you're going down! So I will tell you: Not only Buddha, others have never come down from the seventh heaven, never, but there are some people who will cling to their reflection or identify with their reflection, this is what the Indians say The so-called "Maya's world" - the world of images. We stay in Brahma - we stay in the ultimate real being - we are always rooted there, no one has ever come down, but we may identify with images or dreams. So you're right to ask me "this guy has no beard, too."If you look at my body then you are not looking at me, if you look at me then you will understand. The beard cannot grow by itself, the beard can only grow on the body, this beard is really very symbolic: the soul is alive, the body is half alive, and the beard is almost dead.Your hair is a dead part of your body, that's why you can cut it without any pain.If you cut off your finger, you will feel pain, your hair is also part of your body, but if you cut it off, you will not feel any pain, it is dead cells in your body. So sometimes in a cemetery... if you go to a Muslim cemetery and you dig up a body, that person may not have a beard when he dies, but he grows a beard after he dies, and even on the dead body, the beard It can also grow because the beard is dead, it's just some dead cells. It is good to have a beard because then when you stand in front of the mirror you can see all three levels of you: the one that is dead, the one that is half-dead, and the one that is fully alive. The beard is matter, the body is matter and soul meeting together, that meeting is always difficult, but the body is just where matter and soul meet, when that meeting is broken, the balance is lost and you die - matter It is absorbed by matter again, and the soul is absorbed by soul again. This guy is also beardless. The whole question is: Why is Bodhidharma not material? And the answer is: because the soul cannot be matter. But Zen disciples ask in a very strange way, nobody else asks such a question, you can't ask a Christian pope: why does that Jesus guy have no beard? This question will be considered mundane, you can't be that close to Jesus, you can't call him "this guy", it will look unholy, your behavior will be seen as insulting, but Zen People don't think so.Zen says: If you love your masters, you can laugh at them, if you love them, then there can be no fear, not even of a divine being, if you love them, that fear disappears up. So when Christian theologians first knew about the Zen tradition, they couldn't believe that such a religion could exist, because the Zen monks kept laughing at Buddha, and sometimes they used words that you couldn't believe, and they might call Buddha " This stupid guy"!If you ask them, they'll say: yes, he's stupid because he's trying to say the unsayable, he's trying to transform us who cannot be transformed. He's a stupid guy trying to do the impossible! Zen masters use words that are not possible in other religions, but that is why.So I say other religions are not as religious as Zen, because if you really love, what fear is there? You can joke, you can laugh, and an enlightened man like Buddha will laugh with you, there is no problem, he will not feel hurt, if he feels hurt, he is not enlightened at all, he is not would say: don't use such mundane language, because to Buddha, all language is mundane, only peace is sacred, so whether you call him a fool, or an enlightened person, both It's all the same to him. The language we use is profane, only silence is sacred, so it doesn't matter what you say. The disciple Vakun is asking: Why doesn't Bodhidharma have a beard? Bodhidharma was the first Zen master: Bodhidharma created this stream of Zen that is always flowing, always being renewed. 1400 years ago, Bodhidharma went to China, and when he entered China, he put one shoe on his feet and another shoe on his head. The king came to meet him, and he became embarrassed: what kind of courtesy is this?He has been waiting for a long time and he is thinking: there is a holy man, a great saint is coming, and this man is behaving like a clown. The king felt very disturbed, he felt very disturbed, and he took the opportunity to ask Bodhidharma: What are you doing?People are making fun and they are making fun of me because I came to greet you and you don't behave like you should, you should behave like a saint! Bodhidharma said that only those who are not saints behave like saints, I am a saint!Only those who are holy behave like saints—and he is right in saying that, because you only care about your actions if they are not spontaneous. The king said: I don't understand - you put a shoe on your head and you look like a clown. Bodhidharma said: Yes, because everything that can be seen is a clown's play, only the one that cannot be seen... You stand here like a king, with robes on your body, fancy clothes, and Put on the crown, this is also a clown acting, to tell you this, so I put a shoe on my head, all this is a clown acting, the real thing is not on the periphery, look at me!Don't look at my body. He said, I put a shoe on my head, which is very symbolic, I am saying: In life, there is nothing sacred and nothing profane, even a shoe Shoes are as sacred as your head, and I bring this shoe as a symbol. It is said that the king was deeply moved, but he said: You have gone too far.He added: There is one thing I want to ask you: how to calm my mind?I felt impatient, irritable, restless. Bodhidharma said: Bring your mind to me at four o'clock tomorrow morning and I will calm it down. The king didn't understand, and he began to think: what did he mean by that, this weirdo—bring your brains? When he walked down the steps of the temple where Bodhidharma lived, Bodhidharma said again: Remember, don't come alone, otherwise what will I calm down?Come with your head, come at 4 o'clock, come alone, no guards, no one around. The king couldn't sleep all night, he was thinking, this man seems a little crazy, when I'm there, my mind obviously must follow me, so why does he insist on bringing your mind?Sometimes he thinks: It's better not to go, because it's hard to know?Go alone, maybe this person will start beating me or doing something, you can't believe it, you can't predict this person. But in the end, he still decided to go, because this person is really very magnetic, there is something in his eyes, a kind of fire that does not belong to this earth, his eyes are also very special, there is a kind of fire from the other side Serenity, so the king came as if hypnotized. The first thing Bodhidharma asked was: Well, here you are at last, where is your mind?Bodhidharma was surrounded by many of his disciples. The king said: When I come, my mind comes with me, it is inside me, it is not like a thing that I can carry. So Bodhidharma: Well, you think the mind is inside you, then sit, close your eyes and try to find out where it is, just show it to me and I can take it Believe me, I will make your mind quiet. You don't have to worry. The king closed his eyes and tried to see, and Bodhidharma was sitting in front of him, and he tried and tried and tried and time went by, and then the sun was rising, and his face was completely still, and then he Opening his eyes, Bodhidharma sat there and he asked: Can you find it? The king started laughing, and he said: You have straightened it, because the more I tried to find it, the more I realized it wasn't there, it was just a shadow, it was there because I was never there Penetrating inside me, it's just my absence, when I become "in" inside, it disappears. This Bodhidharma is really a very rare person. His disciples can make fun of him or make fun of him, and he will feel very happy! An enlightened person is a constant laugh, he is not a serious person as people think. Wherever you see seriousness, you'll know pretty well that something's wrong, for seriousness is part of being sick, and no flower is serious unless the flower is sick; unless the bird is sick , no bird is serious, no tree is serious unless something is wrong.Whenever something goes wrong, there is seriousness.Seriousness is a disease, and when everything is fine, laughter arises. Bodhidharma was laughing all the time, his laughter came from his stomach, it was a boisterous laugh, and his disciples used to ask questions that no one but Bodhidharma could answer. I'm going to tell you: that guy has no beard, and this guy has no beard. what can you talk to him about Goso said: When you meet a Zen master on the road, you can't talk to him, and you can't keep silent with him, what should you do? Beloved Master, what should we do when we meet Master among Masters on the grass? Yes, that's exactly what happened. When you meet a Zen master on the road, you cannot talk to him, because what can you talk to him about?Your words are so different, your language belongs to two different planes, what can you talk to him about? What can you ask?Are there any questions really worth asking?Does any question really make sense? When you meet a Zen master, what do you talk about? All you can talk about belongs to this world -- this mundane world, the market, the house, the family, all you can talk about, all you are, is very useless. It does, when you meet a Zen master on the road... you always meet the master on the road, because the master is always running around, you never meet him anywhere else, remember, you Always meet the master on the road, because he is always moving, he is a river, never still, never standing still, if you cannot move with him, you will miss him, he is always On the move, you'll always bump into him on the road. What can you talk to him about? You also cannot remain silent, because it is almost impossible for you to remain silent. You can't talk because the master belongs to a different world, and you can't be quiet because the world you belong to is never quiet, your mind will go on chattering, your mind is a constant chatterbox, whether it is Consistent, or inconsistent, the thought goes on and on inside you, never ending, always going around in circles. You cannot be silent, you cannot speak, so what to do?If you start talking, it will be ridiculous, if you want to be silent, it is impossible, better not to decide, ask the master to see what to do. Tell him: I can't talk because we belong to different worlds, anything I ask will be of no use, and anything you can answer I won't ask, and anything I ask will be useless, It's not even worth answering.I can't be still because I don't know what stillness is, I never knew it, stillness never happened to me.I know a stillness: the stillness of the space between two thoughts, and the stillness of the space between two words. Our silence is like a peace between two wars, it is not really peace, it is just a preparation for another war.How can that which connects two wars be peace? That war just went underground, it was a cold war, it was never peace, our tranquility is like that. So you tell the master like this, you say: I can't be peaceful, I can't talk, please tell me what to do. Do not start anything by yourself, because anything that you start will be wrong.Whether you speak or you are silent, whatever you start will be wrong. Give everything to the master and ask him: what am I going to do?If he tells you to talk, you talk; if he tells you to be still, try to be still, knowing that he will only ask for that which is possible for you. In the end, he would ask for the impossible, but he never did it in the first place. He will ask for the impossible at the end, because then it will also become possible. But in the beginning, he will only ask for the possible, and gradually, he will push you to the ultimate abyss, where the impossible will happen. If he asks you to talk, then you talk, then even your talking will be a help, but then you are not really asking, your talking is just a vent, you are bringing your mind out, You are expressing your mind, you are opening yourself, you are not asking, you are exposing yourself, and this exposure will help, you will release a lot of burden. When a master comes to you, if you can really be honest and say everything that comes to you - irrelevant, contradictory; leave yourself alone, don't ride it, don't manipulate it - when a master comes close You, if you can say all that comes to your head, it becomes a gibberish vent.If you go down and manipulate, it will be like a madman talking. When a master comes to you, if you are frank, honest, real, bring your mind all out, the master will penetrate you through the back door.Your mind goes out through the front door, and the master enters you through the back door. So when you approach me on the lawn, be sincere, be real, and don't bring those intellectual questions, they're useless.Metaphysics is the most useless thing in the world, don't ask any metaphysical questions, they are not real, they don't belong to you, you may have heard about them, or read about them, but they are not part of you.Throw out the nonsense, whatever it is, don't try to manipulate it, don't try to rationalize it, or embellish it, keep it as it is as possible, because in the presence of the Master , you must be naked, you should not wear clothes, you should not hide yourself. Those are two exposures, and if you can take the talk as an exposure and not as an inquiry -- just open your heart to nothing -- then peace will follow, because when you Exposing your mind, when you experience catharsis, silence comes to you, which is a different form of silence -- not forced silence, not controlling silence, silence without any effort on your part.
