Chapter 17 The second part of Taoist "Book of Changes" and Chinese medical theory-7

From the standpoint of Chinese culture, we should be really happy about the current world trends. From the standpoint of China's pharmaceutical development, we should be even more excited. Because of the function of acupuncture and moxibustion in anesthesia, it has shocked the world. The scientific medical circles in the West are all keen to study acupuncture. Isn't this our glory? However, I feel very sad in my heart, because these are just the glory of our ancestors, which proves that we have great ancestors, and what about ourselves? So far, there is really no glory to speak of. We must immediately use new methods to innovate the foundation of medicine in theory, and discard all the ancient stem-branch problems and gossip that are barely applied to medical theory. Only then can medicine progress, and only then can there be creations and achievements suitable for the times.

Sima Qian said in "Historical Records": "Trying the art of stealing yin and yang, it is auspicious, but the public forgets it, making people restrained and fearful, but the order of the four seasons is smooth, so you can't lose it." The mainland is also busy sorting out Chinese medicine and things from our ancestors. The responsibility of actively revaluing and calculating falls on the shoulders of our Chinese descendants. If we want to carry forward Chinese medicine, we must rely on the efforts of colleagues on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. five-star bead If you want to criticize right and wrong, you must first understand the matter itself. Therefore, the historical development and philosophical foundation of medical science must be clarified before you can talk about preservation and discarding.

Some of you present here expressed that the questions about the five elements, stems and branches and the sixty sixty-year-old armor are still too vague, and they hope to explain further, so now I will take a little more time to give a supplementary explanation. The so-called five elements represent the radiation effect of five stars. The ten celestial stems represent the physical system of the solar system, the twelve earthly branches represent the movement of the earth and the moon, and the celestial stems and earthly branches interact with each other. The combination of stems and branches becomes sixty sixties, which is also abstract astronomy.By abstract, I mean theoretical astronomy.

Sixty sixties becomes a paragraph, and when it is expanded, it will become six hundred years or six thousand years.Shrunken down, it can represent sixty days and sixty hours. At that time, the Sixty Sixties were divided into three periods, a total of 180 years, divided into Shangyuan, Zhongyuan and Xiayuan. The origin of Ganzhi is the era of the Yellow Emperor. When the Yellow Emperor came to the throne, it was set as the time of Jiazi, the month of Jiazi, the day of Jiazi, the year of Jiazi. It was the year of Jiachen when Yao ascended the throne. It is said that the Yellow Emperor ordered Dajie to build Jiazi, because the astronomical astrology was used to formulate the relationship between the calendar.

Whether Jiazi was formulated by the Yellow Emperor, or whether it was determined by later generations, we will not delve into it. The important thing is that that day in the Yellow Emperor's era happened to be the time when the five stars were linked together in astronomy. In the era of Zhao Kuangyin in the Song Dynasty, the astrology in the sky showed the situation of five stars united with pearls. It is said that when the five stars are connected to each other, the astrology also symbolizes the prosperity of learning in the humanistic world on earth, so the style of writing in the Song Dynasty was extremely prosperous.Looking at cultural history from the perspective of Confucianism, many achievements of the Song Dynasty were remarkable, and the number of literary talents in that era was also a record.

Mr. Jingfang in the Han Dynasty The issue of stems and branches changed in the hands of Jingfang in the Han Dynasty. The characters and style of study in the Han Dynasty were epoch-making in history. At that time, not only Yin-Yang and Five Elements, but also Heavenly Stems, Earthly Branches, and the calendar reached the most prosperous period, and even medicine was at its climax and achievement stage. Jing Fang, who specializes in theoretical astronomy, probably felt that all the problems in the calendar, such as the five elements, the stems and branches, etc., were too messy, so he sorted them out and put them all together into the system of academic theory. People call it Najia.

Because medicine in the Han Dynasty was very prosperous, and the theory of Yin Yang school was also very developed, Mr. Jingfang's set of Najia theory was naturally moved into the field of medicine. In the Shaokang Festival of the Song Dynasty, the "Huangji Jingshi" was finally completed, which was more comprehensive and fully developed. Medicine in the Song and Yuan Dynasties Now let’s get down to business and talk about medical issues. A great physician in the Song and Yuan dynasties, named Hua Shou, believed that the twelve meridians in the "Nei Jing" should be added to include the two meridians of Ren and Du to form the fourteen meridians.

In the Song and Yuan dynasties, Chinese medicine was the most glorious era in Chinese history. The so-called Ziwu Liuzhu and Linggui Bafa were masterpieces of that era. At that time, there were also four great masters of the Jin and Yuan Dynasties, that is, the Four Great Schools, which influenced the medicine of the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. Among these schools of thought, there is a school that focuses on treating the spleen and stomach meridians, and believes that no matter what kind of disease, the spleen and stomach should be treated first, and the stomach can be strengthened before other diseases can be diagnosed and treated.

Another school focuses on treating the kidney meridian, and their theory is that water and fire are both beneficial (kidney belongs to water). In short, the reason why medicine has made great achievements in this era is because medicine has been integrated with Taoist theory, and it has already achieved practical demonstration results. Therefore, Master Hua Shou advocated the importance of the two channels of Ren and Du in Taoism, and even added the two channels of Ren and Du into the twelve meridians of the "Nei Jing". This is also an innovation and development of medicine. Fire God's Aconite Soup

When it comes to the treatment methods of various schools of thought, it comes to mind that doctors have different opinions. Let's take the medicine of aconite for example! Many doctors and patients dare not use this medicine lightly, because its poisonous gas is quite heavy, and it will kill people if they are not careful. After arriving in Sichuan during the Anti-Japanese War, I met a famous Chinese medicine doctor, nicknamed Huoshen Ye. The God of Fire has been cooking a large pot of aconite soup all year round, and anyone can drink a bowl. For this medical case, I was often puzzled. When I arrived at Mount Emei, I realized it because the monks in the temple drank aconite soup.

It turned out that the founder of Daping Temple in Emei Zhongfeng experienced a lot of hardships when he built the temple on the mountain. When he was hungry and cold, he often collected aconitum in the mountain to eat.Later, the monks on the mountain became a habit, and set a day every year when all the monks stopped eating and only drank aconite soup to commemorate the hard work of the founder of the mountain. When the day when everyone drank aconite soup came, the aconite had already been boiled in the pot for a whole day and night, so everyone drank aconite soup every year, but no one died, so I suddenly realized: after a long time of cooking, the aconite may be The toxicity has long since evaporated, and what is left is the ingredients that increase the heat energy. No wonder the cauldron of aconite soup in Huoshen's house is also boiling day and night. Of course, this belongs to the scope of pharmacology and chemistry. We can only pay attention to it. All of this is waiting for further scientific research to be the right way for Chinese medicine. how many breaths a day "Neijing" and "Nanjing" say: when one inhales, the pulse moves for three inches, and when one exhales, the pulse moves for three inches. One exhale and one inhale is one breath, and the pulse travels six inches between each breath. One day and night, a person breathes 13,500 breaths, and the pulse travels fifty degrees. Every two hundred and seventy breaths, the pulse travels thirty-six feet and two feet. One day and night, the pulse travels a total of eight hundred and ten feet. The water leaks for a hundred moments, and the yin and yang move at twenty-five degrees. We looked at these inches, degrees, zhang, and interest, and no one is not confused, let alone what the standard of this measurement is. Ignoring it for the time being, let's take a look at Western scientific computing, which may be something we can understand. The average person breathes eighteen times per minute. The average human pulse beats seventy-five times per minute. Twenty-five thousand nine hundred and twenty breaths in twenty-four hours. After 25,920 years, the sun completes a cycle.Let's first make a comparison between China and the West. "Nei Jing" point of view: 27,000 breaths in 24 hours. Western view: 25,920 breaths in 24 hours. The difference is about a thousand times. Maybe there are differences between men and women, or there are differences in physical strength between ancient and modern people, so this difference number does not exist. Let’s look at another point in the Western saying, which is that a person’s breathing throughout the day and night is the same number as the cycle of the sun. what does this mean? This proves the theory of Taoism, which believes that the human body is a small universe, and the cycle of day and night is enlarged, which is the cycle of the sun. From this point of view, the arguments of China and the West coincide. It can also be said that since it is the truth, whether it is a foreign language or a Chinese language, it is all about the same thing. Therefore, Chinese and Western cultures can be communicated, in fact, they are originally communicated. In the April 1972 issue of "Humanities World Magazine", a translated article titled "The Moon and Disease" was published. Although this is a foreign article, I deeply believe that this theory is based on The theories of Chinese Taoism were transferred to the West, because our Chinese Taoists already have knowledge of this aspect. two universes Having said that, let's go back to the issue of Qimai. Those who study medicine must not only understand Qimai, but also understand occultism. For example, the dry branch is related to the tide, because the moon affects the tide. If we pay more attention, we will find that the same day, the same dry branch, but there are still differences in the tide time between Zhejiang and Guangdong, northeast and Fujian. Therefore, it is absolutely problematic to rigidly apply these time-varying stems and branches to the human body. Moreover, people are different from each other. It can also be said that each person has his own law and world. If these different people and different laws are incorporated into the great law of the universe, there is no reason why there will be no deviation! The theory of trying to use gossip here to deal with all patients is a major shortcoming of Chinese medicine. They always think that if the gossip and the heavenly stems and earthly branches are not mentioned, it seems that Chinese medicine has no theoretical basis. Acupuncture and Qimai Why do you mention the acupuncture points of martial arts when talking about medical theory? It turns out that acupoints are related to Qimai. Acupuncture began in the Song and Yuan Dynasties. Before that period, there was no such thing as acupuncture. This is enough to show that acupuncture is related to acupuncture and moxibustion of the eight meridians. From the point of view of Taoism and medicine, it is believed that the movement of qi and blood is dominated by qi. The movement of qi and blood is closely related to time and body parts. External moxibustion is also coordinated according to the time and location of the Qi channel, so acupuncture and acupoints are also related to each other. However, the timing of acupuncture points is just a system of its own. The flow of qi and blood in acupoints is the same as the meridian flow and the eight methods of Linggui in acupuncture. The principles of acupoints can be used as a reference for acupuncture to replace anesthesia. time position: If you want to know which meridian the qi and blood are injected into, the gallbladder is ugly, the liver and lungs are to the Yin. The large intestine and stomach govern Maochenzhen and the spleen. The heart is not in the small intestine at noon. If you ask about the bladder and kidney collaterals, Shenxi Xuhai is the root. The ankle is ugly, the waist is in the eyes, and the face is full of hands and feet. At noon, the chest is not in the belly, and the heart is in the heart, and the spleen is in the head, the ankle is in the head. (earthly branch) A's head and B's throat rain down to their shoulders, and Ding Xinwu's abdomen is connected to his back. Gengxin's knees are in the right position, Ren's chest and Gui's feet are always connected. (heavenly dry) Proof of Qimai Acupuncture Many people are wondering, since Qimai is an anatomically invisible thing, how could the former Taoists and doctors discover and prove that it really exists? Speaking of this, we have to talk about a cruel emperor. Emperor Fei of the Song Dynasty in the Southern Dynasty was a very curious, temperamental and extremely cruel emperor. One day, pointing to a pregnant woman, he asked two doctors whether the baby in the womb was male or female. One doctor said it was a baby boy, another said it was twins. In order to prove who is right and who is wrong, Emperor Fei couldn't wait until the pregnant woman gave birth in October, and immediately ordered the use of acupuncture points to cause the pregnant woman to abort. The aborted babies turned out to be twins. Emperor Fei thought that another doctor who was inaccurate in judgment was not skilled in medicine and punished him. Song Feidi killed three lives all at once, which is extremely cruel, but this incident can prove the authenticity of the acupoints and qi channels. In fact, before Emperor Fei, the research and proof of Qimai already existed. At that time, prisoners were used to dissect them while they were alive, and the movement of Qimai was seen when they were still alive. Yelu Chucun, the prime minister at the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty, was a man proficient in Taoism, Buddhism and all kinds of knowledge. He also used to study the Qi veins of dying people on the battlefield. And what he did was not cruel and innocent like Emperor Fei.The bronze figures of the ancient Chinese acupoints were actually completed in the Yuan Dynasty. Therefore, the knowledge of Qimai and acupoints is an experimental work done on the basis of real "physiology".Unlike modern medicine, which dissects people after death, this kind of modern physiology can really be called physiology. when you talk again We have already talked about the deviation of the twenty-four solar terms, so it is worth re-discussing to use the laws of the universe as the criterion for healing. beyond the scope of medicine. If the law of each person's own small world is used for medical treatment, the doctor must understand Yin Yang and Five Elements, and the patient's horoscope. In other words, a doctor must be able to tell fortunes, first count the patient's life, and then prescribe medicine. This method also seems to be difficult to do. Only by exploring and applying the theories of Taoism, can we create a new realm of Chinese medicine. Since the human body can be separated from the laws of the universe, the method of living a child is to focus on the patient and use the operation of his own energy channels to treat symptoms. The ancient Chinese method of cupping is derived from the "Bianstone" treatment, and is now being improved and used by Japan, which is called blood purification treatment and real treatment. If this method is combined with acupoints and acupuncture, it will surely reach a new level in treatment. The cooperation between Taoism and medicine is really great. Taoism says: When the sun rises and disappears, it is better than the decline of the spirit. The monthly profit and loss is better than the rise and fall of qi and blood. Once you have grasped this principle, you can boldly adopt the law of live time. Of course, in order to carry forward this law, we must all brainstorm and work hard, and we must seek its principles in the study of Qimai in Taoism and Tantric Buddhism.
