content summary. Water Crane. Consciousness Yin. The five yin and the border. Delusion is empty. Four great liberations. Buddha Dharma Huajing. Nianhua smiled. Last time we talked about the facts of cultivation and realization, and the fifty kinds of yin demons mentioned in the Shurangama Sutra are all phenomena in the process of cultivation. I haven't finished talking about the liberation of the five Yins.Last time I talked about the scope of the last Yin consciousness. Let me put forward a key point first. The focus of our lecture this time is on the cultivation of certificates. It has not officially started yet, and we are only talking about materials related to the cultivation of certificates. But please pay attention: everyone should listen clearly when listening to the class. Teachers often find that if ten people listen to the lecture at the top of the lecture, ten people have different understandings. Once you take the test, you will know. up.Therefore, especially when listening to the Dharma, one must be very careful.

Let me quote an allusion from Buddhist scriptures as an analogy: One or twenty years after the death of Buddha Shakyamuni, Venerable Ananda was still alive. When Ananda was old, his appearance was the same as that of his elder brother Buddha Shakyamuni. In the past, bhikkhunis in mainland China must have offered offerings to Venerable Ananda, because the Buddha refused to allow women to become monks, and Ananda forced them to come down, so the Buddha scolded him: You have done a good thing, and my Buddhism will be destroyed five hundred years earlier.Ananda's aunt asked to become a monk in the past. Later, Ananda was called the Venerable Huanxi, which did not mean the Buddha of Huanxi in Lama Temple. Don't get it wrong.

When Venerable Ananda was still alive, among the disciples of the Buddha was a dharma master who had also studied with the Buddha and was a redisciple. He taught his disciples the Dharma, and when he passed it on again and again, some of them said: This is what the Buddha said. "The venerable Ananda went into the bamboo forest one day and heard this verse saying: If you live a hundred years and don't see the water crane, it's better to live one day and see it." All the disciples recited this. When the Venerable Ananda heard it, it's too bad, which master taught this? The disciples said it was taught by the master.Ananda told them: The meaning of the Buddha is: "If you live for a hundred years and don't understand the law of arising and ceasing, it is better to live for one day and understand it." If the accent is wrong, it becomes "an old crane that does not see water".After Ananda corrected this group of disciples, the disciples went back to talk to the master. The master said: "Don't listen to what Ananda said. He is old and faint, and it is my fault." Venerable Ananda couldn't do anything about it. Fortunately, at that time, a holy monk said a verse son:

Those who recite satirical verses are really not what the Buddhas intended. Today I meet Huanxi Zun, and I can follow it. This gatha says: Ananda was right, but the other saying was wrong, so he was corrected. Not long after the Buddha's Nirvana, the Dharma has deteriorated to this extent. One hundred years after the Buddha's extinction, due to different views on the precepts and teachings, they were divided into two schools, Theravada and Mass; about 400 years after the Buddha's extinction, they evolved into twenty schools. Therefore, it is nothing for people to argue about it now, even the disciples taught by the Buddha himself are like this, let alone us.

When listening to the Dharma, you must be careful not to deviate from it. Turning the law of birth and death into a "water crane" is really wrong. Now continue to talk about Yin Yin District Yu.The range of yin consciousness is very large. In fact, the range of the five yins is very large. This is still a good state, a positive state. If you take the path of true cultivation, everyone will go through these steps. The path of true cultivation is almost fixed. "If you are summoned by a group, you will be in the same place. You will grind the six gates, and you will achieve success when you open them together. You will learn from each other, and you will use each other to purify them." Regarding the root of all birth and death, it has already been clearly stated in the scope of Yin Xingyu. .The six doors here are the six sense organs, eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind. Most of us can’t see without our eyes, and we can’t hear without our ears. Why?The karma of our life since the beginning of time must rely on the respective functions of these organs.

If one has truly attained the realm of attainment in practice and the liberation of consciousness, one does not need to rely on these internal faculties. "Putting and grinding the six doors" means that the achiever is not restricted and hindered by the functions of the six sense organs, and "succeeds when they are closed and opened, and the knowledge and knowledge are connected to neighbors." The eyes can be used as ears, and the ears can be used as eyes. This sounds weird, but it’s not weird at all. Not only accomplished people can do it, but even ordinary people can do some things.

For example, when we pay attention to one thing, we only pay attention to the front, but you know when someone is coming from behind, and you don’t look back or look with your eyes.Modern people talk about the sixth sense, etc., which all fall into this category. But this is just a little bit of experience for ordinary people. When it comes to "co-opening achievement", the realm will be great. The following eight characters "knowledge and knowledge connect neighbors, mutual use is pure", which shows that the six senses of mutual use are not messy and worrying, but very pure.We often say that the six faculties of monks are pure, that is, the words come out here. The purity of the six senses means that you cannot hear sounds, but that you are all the same regardless of whether you hear good or bad, good or evil, right or wrong. This purification will be discussed later.

At this time, "the worlds in the ten directions, as well as the body and mind, are like barking glass, clear inside and outside, and the yin of consciousness is exhausted." The yin of consciousness is further liberated, and what state does it reach? The entire universe, as well as the individual's physiology, psychology, and whole body and mind, are integrated with the universe, like a glass circle, transparent inside and outside, bright throughout, and free of obstacles.Only when one has reached this state can one be freed from the effect of consciousness yin. When consciousness is liberated, it is very remarkable. We can't even imagine it.Now let’s understand the principles thoroughly and clearly, and then the practice will be easy. The Buddha said that to reach this state, "a person can transcend the turbidity of life", and only then has the root of life in the three realms, and can go beyond the three realms. However, it should be noted that only after the yin of consciousness is exhausted can one transcend the turbidity of life.Pay special attention to the Buddha's conclusion below!

"Look at its cause, disregard the image and nothingness, and reverse the delusion as its basis." From the state of consciousness yin to "the end of consciousness yin", and as for "beyond the turbidity of life", if you study it carefully, it is still the effect of delusion, and it has not left a single thought. .We all hate delusions when we study Buddhism and meditate. We want to get rid of them, but you see, if we want to be able to get rid of the realm of the five yins, we must rely on them! Everyone who is studying Buddhism and Zen now, no matter what you study, you always regard the thoughts and states of consciousness that come and go in your mind as one thought. But this is just a floating thought, floating on it, and it is not the root of true delusional consciousness. Therefore, at the beginning of the Shurangama Sutra, the Buddha told Ananda: "Even if you destroy all knowledge and awareness, and keep quiet inside, it will still be a matter of the separation of dharma objects." Arahantship." He said that even if you learn Buddhism, you will eliminate all knowledge, knowledge, and pureness, and you will still be in a state of consciousness.

Dharma dust is consciousness, why?For example, when you have heard about the state of Buddhism, etc., you have already been poisoned subconsciously. So you sit up and get to that state, sometimes it's not real, it's your state of consciousness that maps that state out. This is just a random metaphor.Even though you have obtained the ninth samadhi, you still cannot prove the fruit, not to mention that it is only a shadow of "dharma dust"! Fa Chen's separation video is the third video recording. For example, when I speak now, the recording is the second layer, and the recording of others is the third and fourth layer. It is not my real voice speaking now after all. That's it, reaching this realm is still a big delusion, but this is still the right path. The Buddha told you that there is an evil path here—heretics.Fifty kinds of yin demons, the last consciousness is called heretics.Arhats, sound-hearers, and fate-jue are all views of heretics. The Buddha said that this is the result of "disregarding the image and nothingness, reversing the illusion".

The word "Wangxiang" comes from Zhuangzi, and Wangxiang is equal to the image, that is, the image of the image.Of course, it is not a real thing, it is illusory, but it does have that image, so here in the Shurangama Sutra, the "invisibility and nothingness" is placed on the "upside-down delusion", which is indeed well arranged. You see, this thought is so difficult, and the five Yins are just this thought.Sometimes we feel that when our thoughts are pure and our body and mind are pure inside and outside, we can reach this state. Half of the time we can reach this state is when our physiology helps us and our mind is relatively peaceful.Because the body and mind interact with each other, so at this time, our Qimai—strictly speaking, we can’t talk about Qimai, but your nervous system, in the ordinary state of feeling, suddenly gets a tranquil state that has never been experienced before. Hence the change.Especially when the air channel passes through the back of the head, the ear will hear a sound; when it reaches the eyes, something goes wrong with the eyes; when it reaches the teeth, something goes wrong with the teeth; If you understand this problem, you can respond and enter; if you don't understand this key, you will go crazy. In fact, there is neither fire nor magic, but this is an illusion of changes in your psychological fantasy. And what you think is pure is not pure; what you think is bright is not bright either. At the end of the Shurangama Sutra, the order of gradual cultivation is explained very clearly, and sudden enlightenment is inseparable from gradual cultivation. When we usually read the Shurangama Sutra, we will definitely look at the jewelry carelessly. You can find the ingenuity in it!The jewels are buried in the mud mines, find them yourself! It is hidden in fifty realms, and one needs to use wisdom to understand it from beginning to end. What I am telling you now is that it took me decades of time and cost to extract the meme.Look around, and the ancients didn't point it out seriously. Therefore, "Don't get it easily, just take it easy." Here is a summary: "With your heart, follow the way of the Tathagata, and pass on this Dharma door to the end of the world after I die, so that all living beings will realize this righteousness, and if you don't let them see the nightmare, they will commit their own crimes." The Buddha told his monks and disciples that they must Make a wish.Intent is to make a vow, which is called intention in Confucianism, and vow in Buddhism. That is the meaning of determination. The Buddha said that after my death, I will pass on this method to those who practice it, so that all sentient beings can understand this truth. "If you don't want to see a nightmare, you will commit your own guilt." All errors in concepts and practices are all problems of "view".Misunderstandings in views are also called "cloudy views".In our world, there is a so-called "five turbidity evil world", and seeing turbidity is one of the five turbidities. The world has the most opinions.Wars, for example, are caused by disputes of opinion.People's troubles all arise from opinions. If I'm right and you're wrong, everyone will make a fuss.Obsessed with personal opinions, turned into demons. The Buddha said "self-inflicted guilt", the word evil is not the word karma, here it is simply, it means self-inflicted sin. "Bao Sui mourns and rescues, eliminates evil ties, and makes his body and mind enter the Buddha's knowledge and vision, and achieve success from the beginning." Therefore, you must tell everyone the way of practice, so that everyone will not go the wrong way, go wrong. There is no way. "Essence is wonderful and clear, and the original consciousness is perfect and pure." "Essence" is a metaphor for this nature, the original thing of life. In the Shurangama Sutra, there is no need to use scientific and rational names, such as "True Tathagata", "Dharma Realm", "Dharma Nature", "Tathagata Treasure"... simply use the appearance of things to express.Every sutra has its focus, and the Shurangama Sutra focuses on the practice of attainment, so it is clearly used as a synonym - Jingzhen.Buddhists say that the original nature is the original awakening, the beginning awakening. What do you think?Feeling the "principal awareness" is not gaining another thing, but feeling my original thing, which is originally pure. "Never leave birth and death, and all kinds of dust and dirt, and even emptiness, all arise from delusions." Pay attention to this sentence "Never leave life and death". Net, it doesn't matter. That's why Zhang Juexiu realized that "Nirvana, life and death are empty flowers", not only life and death are empty flowers, but Nirvana is also empty flowers. In other words, you think you think Nirvana is a thing, and Nirvana is birth and death. In other words, you have proved that life and death are illusory, and life and death are nirvana. The word "stay" is really good. The word "non" cannot be changed. Young monastic students, pay attention! The future of Buddhism, the Buddhism of Chinese culture, will require you to shoulder the burden. If literature is not done well, how can you shoulder this burden? Can't pick it up.Why were the eminent monks before the Tang and Song Dynasties so good?Coupled with poetry and songs, all of them are masters. They will, you will not; so at that time, from the emperor to the picker and seller of garlic, there is no one who does not admire these eminent monks, but now we are monks, you will not, lay people will, you will, The lay people know how to do it, so wouldn’t that be a problem?I stand by your side and encourage monks to vow to take on this burden.look! In the translation of the Shurangama Sutra, not a single word should be sloppy. "Neitheru life and death" not only uses the word "liu" well, but also the word "non". This Shurangama Sutra was brought over by Master Bancimi. At that time, India prohibited Buddhist books from leaving the country. It is said that the master peeled off the flesh under his side and sewed this sutra into the flesh before he could bring it to China. When we read scriptures, we often ignore all kinds of difficult conditions at that time, so there are prophecies in Buddhism that this scripture will finally be introduced to China, and it will be the first to be destroyed in the Dharma-ending period. When the end of the Dharma came, some people began to attack this sutra as a fake. After hearing the apocryphal arguments of these scholars, people in later generations stopped reading it.In fact, these authors did not study Buddhism, and they did not have any kind of kung fu or cultivation. Then he exhorted again: "Si Yuan's primordial enlightenment is wonderful and true, and he pretended to produce all kinds of things in the world." This question is too big, and it is in the field of science. This is also the question Fuluna asked the Buddha in the fourth volume of the Shurangama Sutra. You say that the nature is originally pure and bright, so why is this physical world formed? The question discussed in the fourth volume is how the earth came into being. Why does Dantian feel warm when we meditate? The secret is here, the Buddha revealed the secret to you, so the Shurangama Sutra claims to be "Secret Yin Cultivation", and his secrets are placed in it, and there is no secret at all, "Within the universe, between the universe, there is one Treasure, the secret lies in Xingshan, right there with you. The Lotus Sutra also tells you this point, all sentient beings are originally aware of the wonderful light, and they happen to the world because of delusions. The machine world, that is, the physical world. The real Dharma is purely idealistic, and the physical world is a subsidiary part of the functional changes of the mind. That's why the Buddha said: "If you play Ruo Da Duo, you will recognize the shadow when you are lost." At the time of Shakyamuni Buddha, there was a man named Yan Ruo Da Duo in the city. !Where did my head go?There is a head in the mirror. Has anyone ever seen his real head?Has anyone seen their true colors?I have seen it in the mirror, but the opposite focus in the mirror is not my real self.Acting Ruo Dado looks for it every day, every day, looking crazy. The story is well described.Really! Our heads have been lost, and we all use this shadow, which is the third layer of phantom. Most people want to get rid of delusions when they meditate. After reading the Buddhist scriptures, you will laugh out loud. You sit there meditating to get rid of delusions, aren’t you suffering? The delusion would have been empty. For example, delusions come, alas!Delusion, I want to get rid of it. When I just woke up with such a thought, that delusion has already gone away, and you are still chasing delusion here!Delusion is rootless, so the Diamond Sutra tells you: "The Tathagata, who has nowhere to come from and has nowhere to go, is called the Tathagata." This clearly tells you that it is rootless, because delusion itself is neither cause nor effect. I'm afraid it's delusional! If you have the ability, think about it for three days and three nights, and see if you can not sleep, just delusional. If you do it, I kowtow to you.right! Some people can do it, and there are people in the mental hospital of National Taiwan University who can do it, but they don't have only one delusion from beginning to end.Their delusions also fluctuate, one wave passes and another wave changes, this is how the delusions dance. So, what do you get rid of delusions? "In delusion, cause and condition are established." Delusion is caused by him, and he has no original cause, but is caused by appearance. Talking about consciousness-only "depending on others" is to put the consciousness and the outside world in opposition. But you do not know that you yourself are the outside world.According to the sixth consciousness, the outside world is the first five senses; for example, the four elements are also the outside world, and changes in the outside world will cause the reaction of the consciousness.Take the eighth Alaya Consciousness as an example, your four elements and the divisions of your consciousness are originally external. We should pay attention to this, so we see that people all over the world are practicing Consciousness-only, just like practicing the Book of Changes. Those who study the Book of Changes and engage in gossip have been trapped in the gossip array throughout history and in all over the world, and have never climbed out. What are the eighty-eighty-sixty-four hexagrams, drawing pictures, and numbers, after a long time, it's over, it's okay to lie in it and play games, but you can't use it if you really want to.It's the same with Buddhism. If you don't seek to practice, you will never be able to climb out. It's just that you are trapped by these terms and turn Buddhism into thought.Just playing with thoughts there, playing forever, playing for a long time, will not help your body and mind at all, so you must pay attention. Many people are confused about the "false origin without cause, in delusion, the establishment of cause and condition", so "those who are obsessed with cause and condition are called nature." You think that all causes and conditions come from "natural".This "nature" is not the nature of Chinese culture. It is the natural philosophy school of the Indian school of philosophical thought. That nature is a concept that constitutes a thing, so the natural philosophy of India cannot be confused with the nature of Taoism and Lao Tzu.When Chinese and foreign works talk about the history of Indian philosophers, they all start at this point wrongly, and there is no way to do it.This is the blind man leading the blind and rolling into a pile of scum, all wrong. And some masters of the ancients who wrote Lao Tzu's theory and criticized Lao Tzu were also wrong; they confused Lao Tzu's nature with the nature of the Indian natural school, so they were also wrong. The Buddha told us: "The nature of emptiness is still illusory, and its causes and conditions are natural. It is all sentient beings' delusional calculations." He said that as far as the entire universe is concerned, space is not something that exists forever. In the front of the Shurangama Sutra, Shakyamuni Buddha once said, "You should know that the void is born in your heart, just like a piece of cloud that is too clear." Space is so small, and the entire space is still composed of illusions. In other words, space belongs to the scope of the "seven majors", is a physical thing, and is a phenomenon attached to the ideal mind. What's more, we are still born of karma, and in the material world of space, the reptiles on the ground are called human beings, and these terms are all conceived by our brains, so they are even more unreliable.understand? In short, emptiness and space are still illusions. What's more, our knowledge is the earth in space, the world in the earth, and the reptiles in the world. These reptiles are called people, and they are just illusions formed in the human mind. Therefore, "all beings are calculated with delusional minds", which sounds good is called reasoning, but bad is just estimation and guessing. "Ananda, knowing the origin of delusion, talk about the cause and condition of delusion, if there is no delusion, talk about delusion and cause and condition, there is nothing at all." Pay attention to this "knowledge". The idea here is "talking about false causes and conditions", saying that false thoughts are born of causes and conditions, if you understand that the nature of false thoughts is inherently empty, "talking about false causes and conditions, there is nothing at all", it is originally empty! "What's more, those who don't know, push nature." As for those who think that the psychological roots of these lives come from nature, let alone talk about it. "That's why the Tathagata discovered with you that the root cause of the five skandhas is the same delusion." Therefore, the Buddha said, I tell you above, our five skandhas - form, feeling, thought, formation, and consciousness - have their own uniqueness when they function. different. In the final analysis, although the five yins are different, they are all a big delusion. The World Honored One then explained the nature of the delusions of the five skandhas, and then concluded: "It is the five receiving skandras, and the five delusions come true." The yin of the five feelings is the formation of the five delusions. "You want to know the shallowness and depth of the causal realm." If you want to know the factors and scope of their composition, I will tell you now. The first of the five yins is form yin, "only form and emptiness are the boundaries of form." The appearance of a "shape" or "phase" is form; Said to be a kind of "emptiness".Since this "emptiness" is the emptiness of the physical world, or the emptiness of the psychological concept, strictly speaking, it is also a kind of "phase" and the "phase" of "emptiness", so it still belongs to the category of form and yin. This is the principle of "Woeser and emptiness are the boundary of form". "Only touching and leaving is the edge of feeling." For example, when we touch our hands and let go, they are two major phenomena in the scope of receiving yin. This is still based on the general principle. If some people feel sad when they are separated from their friends, it is not the touch, but the touch formed by "thinking".The five yins are still tossing heavily, which is equivalent to the five elements in Chinese fortune-telling, which are intricate, wood restrains earth, earth restrains water, water restrains fire, fire restrains metal, and gold restrains wood. Here, the body and mind have a great influence on each other. "Only remembering and forgetting are the boundaries of thinking." In the category of thinking yin, there are remembering and forgetting, the presentation of two major functional forms.Forgetting means not being able to remember something. In the world of "thinking", there is a blurred image of no memory, so it is the same as "remembering", which belongs to the category of Yin thinking, but the difference between "remembering" and "forgetting" "It's two relative phenomena. "Only extinction and birth are the boundaries of action." In the scope of yin and yang, it is the presentation of the two relative forms of "birth" and "extinction". "Zhan enters and merges with Zhan, and returns to the edge of knowledge." This is difficult to explain, Zhan is to clarify, and the state of mind has reached Chengcheng Zhan Zhan, ethereal, this is the last "Zhan". "Entering", entering into the self-nature, the state of nothingness, clearness and clarity, is "enlightenment and combination", which is the category of the eighth consciousness, the Tathagata's hidden nature. "These five yin elements overlap and arise." This is the root element of the five yin elements. The five yin elements are as troublesome and complicated as the five elements of Chinese culture. The five major factors influence each other and act as cause and effect. There is a book called "Theory of the Five Aggregates" in the Buddhist scriptures, but it has not been explained clearly. The twelve karmic relationships in India are also based on the twelve hours, which is equivalent to Zichou Yinmaosi Wuwei Shenyou Xuhai in Chinese culture.Ignorance is a child, ignorance leads to action, action is ugly, that is another set of academic research. In the past, when the abbot of a large temple on the mainland wanted to accept apprentices, he used Bodhidharma's palm of gold to see the year, month, and day of birth, and calculated that he could become a monk, or he could not become a monk without a Buddhist relationship.Bodhidharma's palm of gold is based on the twelve earthly branches, and the twelve earthly branches come from twelve causes and conditions. You said aura! Buddhism talks about idealism in everything, and great Zen masters and abbots don't use this method. "Birth is caused by consciousness, and cessation is eliminated from form." The birth and cessation of an ordinary person, the absence of form is called death.Cultivating the Tao means "elimination from form", and first find a way on the body.If the obstacles in the body cannot be removed, and the five Yins cannot be removed, then what is the use?Close your eyes and meditate, just roll around in this body. It’s not comfortable here, it’s comfortable there, it’s not working here, it’s working there, and turning around doesn’t leave this body.Just like the words of the Zen master who cursed people: close your eyes and do your work in that ghost cave in Montenegro. "The principle leads to enlightenment, enlightenment and disappearance, and things are not eliminated immediately, because the order is exhausted." The liberation of the five Yins is a step-by-step, scientific principle, and there is no way to violate it.Of course, when someone sets out on the road, he or she may first be liberated from the yin of formation or yin of consciousness, and the steps are not completely fixed.Sudden enlightenment is about insight, and gradual practice is about attainment.Once the view has really arrived, the subsequent practice must have arrived. But then again, the view has really arrived, and it is just right to practice. The focus of this book is on cultivation. The first seven points of awakening the mind and the eight points of discernment are about views, while the latter are all about gradual cultivation. In other words, it is all about practical methods of cultivation. In fact, gradual practice is inseparable from epiphany, and epiphany is also inseparable from gradual practice. My idea is a whole set of plans, from the beginning of meditation to practice, I want to give you a systematic explanation, and now I still collect information first. The Buddha opposed supernatural powers, but he discovered supernatural powers during several important lectures. The first time Ananda fell ill, the Buddha told Manjushri to save him quickly.According to the Shurangama Sutra, Sakyamuni Buddha crossed his legs, "putting a hundred jewels and fearless light on the top, and a thousand-leaf lotus was born in the light. There was a Buddha incarnation sitting in lotus, proclaiming the divine mantra, and Manjushri sent the mantra to protect .” Why didn’t the Buddha save himself?Or show supernatural powers, grab Ananda with both hands, why? This is all talk. The second time emits light from the face door, the third time emits light from the chest (ten thousand characters), the fourth time emits light from the five bodies, and the fifth time emits light from the meat bun. Each time the light is different, why? These need to be studied. Some classics have so many tricks, like in the Lotus Sutra, they all tell stories, but there is nothing to be found in the stories. In the first story, as soon as the Buddha came up, the hall was cleared, and the Buddha did not speak, and the five thousand monks left. Why? There are problems everywhere, and everyone is fascinated by the philosophical thoughts in it. Applause!Think these highlights are remarkable. When I wrote the present interpretation of the great meaning of the Shurangama Sutra, I omitted hell and heaven, because no one believes it now, but there is actually a lot of knowledge in it.Why do people become beasts?I was horrified to see it, that is to say, when you make a mistake in one thought or emotion, the karma will come. I have seen it a lot in the past few decades. The times are different, and the karma is faster. This part is very important in practice. Important, but everyone thinks that the most difficult thing to understand is "the seven places signify the heart, and the eighth point is also discernible." In fact, that is just messing around in literature, and it is easy to understand; place, that is the most difficult place to understand. Now let’s talk about the liberation of the seven elements—the awareness of earth, water, fire, wind, and space, and only talk about the four elements related to the body.Modern people like to do Qimai most when meditating, such as the three chakras and seven chakras, etc., which are specially played in the body.Pay attention! That's just the realm of sex and yin, and there are so many tricks to play here, so that you are dizzy, dizzy, and lost in direction. If you understand the principles, you will know that it is not about this, nor about the four elements—earth, water, fire, and wind. The four elements are born of a single thought. When we talk about thoughts today, we only know that the thoughts in our hearts are thoughts. I don’t know that even the four great elements are also thoughts. It is pointed out in the strict scriptures. In the Ode to the Eight Consciousnesses of Master Xuanzang, Alaya’s Ode to the Second: "The vast and vast Tripitaka is inexhaustible. The seven waves in the depths of the abyss are the wind, and they are smoked and hold the root and body vessels. After going away, they will be the master first." The root of the finger is the six roots, the body is the human body, and the vessel is the material world, all of which come from this thought. This thought is karma, and if the thought can be reversed, the karma can also be reversed. So in Zen Buddhism, when the mind is established, it is the thought, which is the five skandhas and the eight consciousnesses.Cultivation is about cultivating this, not just cultivating the sixth consciousness. The sixth consciousness comes and goes with every thought, so if you can’t get rid of the seventh consciousness or the eighth consciousness with one thought, how can you learn Zen! We usually only have a little bit of clarity in our minds, which is part of the sixth consciousness, which is far from it!When you are about to die, when the four elements are about to disperse, you will no longer be able to use the purification and effort you usually acquire, because the sixth consciousness alone will not play a role. When a baby is born, the sixth consciousness is the same. If you are confused, it is useless, but the seventh and eighth senses are still functioning, you need to know this.So when you were about to die, you asked him to recite the Buddha's name, and he said, "It's too bad, it's too bad!" It's really too bad, but how can you still talk? At this time, the sixth consciousness is slackened and can only play a part of its role. Therefore, if you can’t read the seventh and eighth consciousness, what kind of Zen do you study, what kind of thoughts! Then the seventh and eighth senses are able, where are the four parts of earth, water, fire and wind?Let’s talk about fire first, the Shurangama Sutra says: "The fire of nature is empty, the fire of nature is empty, pure and natural, it pervades the Dharma Realm, follows the hearts of all beings, should know the amount, discovers through karma, the world is ignorant, confusion is caused by cause and condition, and natural nature, all are conscious minds, and they are measured separately. , but there are words, but they have no real meaning.” Seeing emptiness means “the fire of nature is empty, and the fire of nature is empty.” Therefore, our root teacher Shakyamuni Buddha taught us a lot of treasures, we don’t know .When many people meditate, their bodies feel warm, and they think that the kundalini has arisen.I said you go to check and check, it may be sick.Warmth in the four plus lines, warmth and softness go hand in hand, and you will rejuvenate after getting warm.Seeing emptiness does not only make the pubic region warm, if you see emptiness, you can do what you love. Some people meditate and listen to breathing, counting breaths, "the nature of the wind is vacuum, the nature of the emptiness is the real wind." Breathing is the wind element, which is the law of birth and death, but relying on this to treat the body is not useless, but it is not helpful for enlightenment. The real enlightenment is "the vacuum of sexual wind, the true wind of sexual emptiness". The physical world is all phenomena, which can become fire, air currents, and electricity. The function of the body hidden behind these phenomena is "pure and natural, pervading the Dharma Realm".Its concentric matter is unitary, where the mind reaches, the physics will arrive; "According to the mind of all sentient beings, you should know what you know" is all created by you, so when you do kung fu, you feel that a certain part of your body is hot, and you think it is the Qi channel. To be honest, it’s caused by your delusions, and it’s called cultivation, but it’s because your delusions are too big! That’s all, it’s not the Tao.This is to respond to the hearts of all beings. If you seek this side, his supernormal abilities will develop to this side, so it is called "discovery through karma", and it follows your karma. "Discovery" is used well, it is not an invention, it is inherent in the universe, not created, but discovered. Only when these are clarified can we practice well. There are still many points that cannot be finished at once. I will talk about it next time. Now I will turn to the Lotus Sutra. Now the Chinese talk about the practice of attainment, especially Zen Buddhism, which mentions two classics - Fahua and Shurangama. The Lotus Sutra came earlier than the Shurangama Sutra, and it was passed down during the Northern and Southern Dynasties and the Eastern Jin Dynasty. This sutra has had a great influence on Chinese culture. In literature and academia, things from the Lotus Sutra can often be seen. The wise master, his mentor and his disciples, founded the Tiantai sect, which is the sect enshrining the Lotus Sutra. Many people used to learn "Banzhou Samadhi" All the eminent monks practiced along the route of the Lotus Sutra. It is too difficult to really explain this sutra, this is the real One Vehicle Dharma. In the past few meditation sessions, we would talk about why Shakyamuni Buddha held up flowers and why Venerable Kasyapa smiled. When I was in Guanzhong last year, I had a feeling and wrote a poem to answer an old friend who was about to become a monk: Zen comes from picking up flowers and smiling, Lingshan's flower stamens are full of Lingtai, how can the pure land and Huayan world, and Taoism flowers bloom to see the Buddha's return. When the Buddha was at the Lingshan meeting, the gods offered too many flowers, and the altar was full. One thing is strange, Buddhism has always been about flowers. Then, I will give my friend another Huatou: Don't think about it, don't worry about guessing, as soon as Toutuo leaves and returns empty, the east wind is releasing thousands of flowers and trees, all of which bloom towards Nanhuajue. When mentioning the Lotus Sutra, why pick up flowers?why smileYou stand there looking at the flowers, and the conversation begins. If you know flowers, you almost know how to practice. How does a seed bloom? What happened? The Lotus Sutra is the Lotus Sutra of the Miaofa. Like Zhuangzi, it is all fables, especially when it is mentioned how great the merits of preaching are. There are a lot of Indian culture written in one sentence, but if you study it patiently, every sentence makes sense. There are Huatou everywhere in this sutra, and it really talks about cultivation skills. Volume 1 of the Lotus Sutra: "The preface is the first, and the auspiciousness in the east appears." The demon said, and withdrew from the table.Amitabha Buddha is in the west, while the Lotus Sutra is dedicated to shining light in the east—"The East is auspicious." This sutra is all stories, and each story is a Huatou.Among the Buddha's disciples, Shariputra, the most intelligent one, got up to ask the Dharma. The Buddha radiated so much light and ostentatiously, but he said: Forget it!never mind!My Dharma is too inconceivable, if I don’t teach it anymore, you can see that all five thousand monks have retired. In the first handbook of the Lotus Sutra, it says: "Stop! Stop! My Dharma is wonderful and difficult to contemplate. Those who are arrogant and arrogant should not believe it when they hear it." People have arrogance, especially those who study Buddhism and think they understand Buddha. I am the only one in the sky and the world, that is the Buddha, not you.The Buddha said that many people who are arrogant will never believe what I am going to say. "This dharma cannot be understood by thinking and distinguishing. Only the Buddhas can know it." Attention! This is the point of view, especially when we learn Buddhism, we need to know and see rightly. Buddhism is not practiced by thinking. The Buddha tells us here that the real Buddhism cannot be explained by your ideology. The following sentence is very serious, and we have learned it in vain. "Only the Buddhas can know it." Only the Buddhas know the true Dharma. No wonder the 5,000 bhikkhus are about to retire. Only the Buddha can understand it, so why should we learn it? "So what? All the Buddhas, World Honored Ones, appeared in the world only because of a great cause." He said that all the Buddhas appeared in the world only for one thing, which is called a great cause. In other words, the Buddha said that there is only one vehicle and one thing in Buddhism, and if you understand it, you will become a Buddha. "All the Buddhas, World Honored Ones, appeared in the world because they wished to make all living beings open to the Buddha's knowledge and view and make them pure. They appeared in the world because they wanted to show all living beings the Buddha's knowledge and view. They appeared in the world because they wanted to make all living beings realize the Buddha's knowledge and view. Because the Buddha knows and sees, he appears in the world." Attention!Open up the Buddha's knowledge, demonstrate the Buddha's knowledge, realize the Buddha's view, and enter the Buddha's view.Enlightenment is to realize the Tao, entry is to prove the entry, the Lotus Sutra is to open, reveal, enlighten, enter, and finally to prove the Tao. "This group has no branches and leaves, only the truth." Five thousand monks left, and all the scum went out. Those who stayed were all good characters, all of whom were pure in heart and qualified. "Although I talk about Nirvana, it is not true extinction." There is no Nirvana that is a categorical view, and it is impossible to come back. What is Nirvana?A kind of phenomenon - "all dharmas come from their origin, and always have their own nirvana." Attention!Just mentioned in the Shurangama Sutra-nature, if you want to realize it, where can you find it? "All Laws" talks about all things, whether spiritual or material, and all things in the world are in birth and death, changing in myriad ways. Before the change, after the change, and even during the change, you are already in Nirvana.Originally, it was quiet and pure.要懂得这个,先要了解这个,这就是参禅,禅宗经常提到这一句。 「佛子行道已,来世得作佛。」你现在去行愿、修证,来生成佛。Notice!
