The method of camping is like the bud of a mountain, and the method of Chen is like the flow of a river.Those who make good use of teachers in ancient times can make a camp and then become a Chen.Therefore, it is said that the teacher comes out with the law, and it is said not to be wrong in the four, five, six, and seven cuts, but to stop it.Guanzi's strategy of hegemony is still internal affairs, and he sends military orders so that his ears and eyes are accustomed to it, his mind is fixed, and he is as unshakable as a mountain, and then he goes out and uses it.If you break the water in the stream of Qianren. 威仪之不类,贤人之丧亡,妇寺之专横,皆国之不祥。而日月之眚,山川之变,鸟兽草木之妖,其小者也。传曰人无衅焉,妖不自作。故孔子对哀公以老者不教幼者不学,为俗之不祥。[65]家语。荀子曰,人有三不祥,幼而不肯事长,贱而不肯事贵,不肖而不肯事贤,是人之三不祥也。而武王胜殷,得二肤而问焉曰,若国有妖乎?一肤对曰,吾国有妖,昼见星而天雨血。一肤对曰,此则妖也,非其大者也。吾国之妖,子不听父,弟不听兄,君令不行,此妖之大者也。武王避席再拜之。[66]吕氏春秋。书载箕子之言亦曰,乃罔畏畏,弗其耇长,旧有位人。自余所逮见五六十年国俗民情,举如此矣!不教不学之徒满于天下,而一二稍有才知者皆少正卯邓析之流。是岂待三川谒而悲周,岷山崩而忧汉哉?书曰习与性成。诗云如彼泉流,无沦胥以败。识时之士,所以引领于明王,系心于耇德也。 鲁僖公俭以足用,宽以爱民,务农重谷,而有坰牧之盛。卫文公大布之衣,大帛之冠,务材训农,通商惠工,敬教劝学,授方任能,而有騋牝三千之多。然则古之马政皆本于田功也。吾未见廏有肥马野有饿莩而能国者也。 太王当武丁祖甲之世殷道未衰,何从有翦商之事?僖公之世距太王已六百馀年,作诗之人特本其王迹所基而侈言之耳。犹秦誓之言命我文考,肃将天威也。犹康诰之言天乃大命,文王殪戎殷也。亦后人追言之也。张子曰,一日之间天命未绝,犹是君臣。 读经传之文,终商之世无言祥瑞也。而大戊之祥桑,高宗之雊雉,惕于天之见妖而修德者有二焉。则知监于夏王之矫诬上天而栗栗危惧,盖汤之家法也。简狄吞卵而生契。不亦矫诬之甚乎?毛氏传曰,玄鸟鳦也。春分玄鸟降。汤之先祖有娀氏女简狄配高辛氏帝,帝率与之祈于郊禖而生契。故本其为天所命以玄鸟至而生焉。可以破史迁之谬矣。 敷奏其勇,不震不动,不戁不竦,苟非大受之人骤而当天下之重任,鲜不恐惧而失其守者。此公孙丑所以有动心之问也。升陑伐夏,创未有之事而不疑,可谓天锡之勇矣。何以能之?其上帝临女无贰尔心之谓乎? 汤武身之也,学汤武之勇者,宜何如?震惊百里,不丧匕鬯,近之矣。 诗之次序犹春秋之年月,夫子因其旧文,述而不作也。颂者,美盛德之形容以告宗庙。鲁之颂,颂其君而已。而列之周颂之后者,鲁人谓之颂也。[67]郑氏曰,襄公时季孙行父请命于周,而史克作之。然春秋列国,卿大夫赋诗无及此四篇者。世儒谓夫子尊鲁而进之为颂,是不然。鲁人谓之颂,夫子安得不谓之颂乎?为下不倍也。春秋书公、书郊禘,亦同此义。孟子曰,其文则史,不独春秋也。虽六经皆然。今人以为圣人作书必有惊世绝俗之见,此是以私心待圣人。世人读书,如王介甫才入贡院,而一院之事皆欲纷更。[68]宋史张方平传。此最学者之大病也。 列国之风何以无鲁?大师陈之,固曰鲁诗,不谓之颂矣。孔子鲁人也,从鲁而谓之为颂。此如鲁史之书公也。然而泮水之文则固曰鲁侯也。 商何以在鲁之后?曰,草庐吴氏尝言之矣,大师所职者,当代之诗也。商则先代之诗,故次之周鲁之后。[69]汲冡周书,伊尹朝献商书,附于王会解之后。即其例也。 诗之世次必不可信,今诗亦未必皆孔子所正。且如褒姒灭之,幽王之诗也。而次于前。召伯营之,宣王之诗也,而次于后。序者不得其说,遂并楚茨,信南山,甫田,大田,瞻彼洛讳阙矣,裳裳者华,桑扈,鸳鸯,鱼藻,采菽十诗,皆为刺幽王之作。恐不然也。又如硕人,庄姜初归事也,而次于后。绿衣,日月,终风,庄姜失位而作。燕燕,送归妾作。击鼓,国人怨州吁而作也,而次于前。[70]朱子日月传曰,此诗当在燕燕之前,下篇放此。渭阳,秦康公为太子时作也,而次于后。黄鸟,穆公薨后事也,而次于前。此皆经有明文可据。故郑氏谓十月之交雨无正。小旻,小宛,皆刺厉王之诗。[71]十月之交有艳妻之云,自当是幽王。汉兴之初,师移其第耳。而左氏传楚庄王之言曰,武王作武。其卒章曰,耆定尔功。其三曰敷时绎思,我狙维求定。其六曰绥万邦,屡丰年。今诗但以耆定尔功一章为武,而其三为赉,其六为桓。章次复相隔越。仪礼歌召南三篇,越草虫而取采苹。正义以为采苹旧在草虫之前,知今日之诗已失古人之次。非夫子所谓雅颂各得其所者矣。
