Chapter 2 preface

On the occasion that the Beijing Publishing House is about to publish it, the author is delighted to give a brief introduction to the readers about the general situation and purpose of this book. If we talk about writing a book, we have to start with drinking tea.The author has had an indissoluble bond with tea since his youth. And from Shaohua to Haoshou, there are dozens of cold and heat, without interruption, especially after entering middle age, it is almost to the point of "not a day without tea". Therefore, the infinite charm contained in a piece of fragrant tea and the inexhaustible knowledge of tea science, the long-standing and splendid history of tea science in my country, the legendary life experience of the tea sage Lu Yu and his understanding of human tea drinking culture His outstanding contributions have generated a strong interest in the rich and colorful tea culture, which can be called the quintessence of our Chinese nation.

The reason why I want to write a book is that the author is sincerely willing to bring together the precious time of "the sunset is infinitely beautiful" and the cultural knowledge accumulated by the party's careful cultivation of him over the years. In the book, return it to the people and society. In a sense, maybe this is the author's self-cherishing and self-consolation for the bright life of "it's not too late". After four springs and autumns——1,500 days and nights of hard work, finally at the world’s great pioneer of tea science—a tea scientist in the Tang Dynasty in China——Tea On the occasion of the 260th anniversary (733-1993), more than 500,000 words were compiled.

The purpose of compiling "A Grand View of Tea Culture in Modern and Ancient Times" is to make as much as possible the essence of Chinese tea history, tea culture history and tea science, as well as some research results of famous sages, experts and scholars in the past and present, and present the great motherland as beautiful as possible. The natural environment of mountains and rivers and cultural landscapes are integrated into the rich and colorful national tea culture; with the glorious history of tea culture of the motherland for more than 3,000 years (since the Western Zhou Dynasty), especially the tea sage Lu Yu and his unique scientific culture The influential three-volume "The Classic of Tea" is the warp, and the famous teas, celebrities, utensils, classics, springs, poems, and couplets are the latitude. What is the title of the book? Those who have a great view can neither be said to be complete, nor can they be said to be "to achieve a great view, things must perish."However, judging from the timing and scope of the current and ancient tea events discussed in this book, it can be said that: Tracing back to the Three Emperors Shennong, Down to the leader Mao Runzhi.
