Chapter 36 Preface to "Investigation of Dongtang and Other Places"

(November 1930) On October 30, 1930, the Front Enemy Committee of the Red Army decided in Luofang on the policy of luring the enemy deep.On November 6, the Red Army crossed the Gan River from Xiajiang to Yongfeng and Nancheng, and I made arrangements to retreat from Xiajiang to Ji'an.I stayed in Dongtang on November 7th, and arrived in Ji'an the next day. I did a little research along the way.During the investigation of Lijiafang, I learned about the organization and activities of the Soviets at the village and village levels in these places in the land struggle. Before this investigation, my conception of those situations was vague.During this investigation, I discovered the seriousness of land distribution in villages. There are dozens of counties in southwestern Jiangxi that have allocated land. The land law promulgated by the high-level government distributes land in units of townships. Generally, the staff of high-level agencies think that land is distributed in units of townships. Who knows that the actual situation is completely different. Generally, land is distributed in units of villages. Townships are allocated very little to units.Taking the village as the unit, this kind of distribution method that benefits rich peasants and disadvantages poor peasants should be changed.
