Chapter 101 India and China have gradually emerged excellent talents

There is no doubt that if Japanese education continues to operate according to the guidelines set by the Ministry of Education, it will cause more serious problems than the decline in learning ability; if the education system is returned to the previous model, it will also become very bad. Looking at the talents in the world today, I can say this: Japanese university graduates, especially the science and engineering talents that Japan has always been proud of, have gradually fallen behind the world level, so now Japanese manufacturers are starting to start from China. Introduce science and engineering talents from India and Vietnam. For example, NEC has set up a research institute at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, to ensure the input of its own talents. In addition, Lucent Technologies has also started recruiting talents at Hanoi University of Technology in Vietnam.

Part of the reason why this happened is that fewer and fewer people apply for science and engineering, but it also shows that Japanese companies no longer need only Japanese graduates. But we needn't be surprised, because the world's largest companies have been doing this for a long time. They are participating in a worldwide competition, so it will not work if they only use their own talents. On the other hand, if Japan does not carry out real reforms to the education system, I am afraid that even the supply of talents in domestic enterprises will have problems. If things really get to this point, then maybe the dominance of our business will fall to the side of China and India that can develop real talent.

Based on the thinking that "the mind is the most important competitiveness", India put forward the slogan of "building the country with the mind" and formulated a strategy for rejuvenating the country through science and technology. Its symbol is the Indian Institute of Technology (HT).The Indian government gives the Indian Institute of Technology a huge budget of 7.5 billion yen every year to encourage it to implement an independent education system and allow students to develop the ability to think independently.Under such an education model, the students of the Indian Institute of Technology have become the targets pursued by many outstanding companies in the world. Not only that, but the Indian Institute of Technology has gradually emerged many entrepreneurs (Figure 7-2), the representative of which is Narayana Murthy, the founder of the world-renowned software company Infosys.

I have worked with Narayana Murthy on overseas software development and I was deeply impressed by his independent philosophy. He once said: "Although I believe in Nehru's 'equal distribution of national wealth', it will never be possible to distribute wealth that does not exist." Therefore, no matter how difficult his Infosys business is, he He has never thought about selling the company to foreign investors. He has a firm belief that "Infosys must become a company that seeks a prosperous life for the Indian people." After hearing this, I only sighed: "He is really a reformer!"

Similarly, from China's top universities such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, Nanjing University, and Northeastern University, there are also a steady stream of "world-wide" talents.

Of course, the country with the richest human resources is still the United States. Although the level of primary and secondary education in the United States is not very high, the level of American universities and graduate schools is the best in the world, attracting outstanding students from all over the world. Now, many outstanding talents in the world have the background of American education.

It is undeniable that there are many "wizards" among them, who promote the development of the world and create the "value" of the world. Those who made the Japanese education system certainly had high averages, but they couldn't create "value". In the previous industrialized society, "average talents" were of course very important, but in today's economic globalization, such talents are everywhere and are no longer a scarce resource. Now China and India, even Thailand and Vietnam, are trying to cultivate average talents in order to improve the education level. The number of such talents in these emerging countries is more than 10 times that of Japan, but their cost of cultivating such talents is only 1/10~1/5 of Japan's.

What does this mean?It means that if Japan continues to cultivate this type of talents in the future, no matter how much it trains, it will not be enough to maintain the current living standards of Japanese citizens. Japanese society can only have more and more old-fashioned people, freelancers and low-income workers. crowd.
