Wu Daifeng (1903-2005), born in Anding, Shaanxi (now Zichang County), was named Zhendong, and his name was Daifeng. Born in Wayaobao on February 25, 1903, in a wealthy family. In 1931, he went to Taiyuan Jiangwu Hall to study. In 1924, he graduated from Mingyi Middle School in Fenyang County, Shanxi Province. In the autumn of the same year, he joined the teaching team of Changhu Yuyu Department and was influenced by the underground party of the Communist Party of China. He participated in the revolution in 1926 and joined the Communist Party of China in January 1927.During the Northern Faction Revolution, he served as the second squadron leader of the military and political team controlled by the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China in Yang Hucheng's army, the captain of the second and fifth brigades of Xi'an Sun Yat-sen University, a member of the Party General Branch of Sun Yat-sen University, and the Tenth Army of the National Revolutionary Army stationed in Zhengzhou adjutant.

After 1927, he worked in the tenth and forty-seventh armies of the Kuomintang to carry out military operations.He served as the Secretary of the General Branch of the CCP’s underground party camp in Taihe KMT’s Tenth Military Training Camp (Military School Branch) in northern Anhui. He organized and participated in riots in Fuyang, Queshan and other places. After the failure, he continued to work on military movement. In the spring of 1931, he was dispatched by the Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China to participate in the establishment of the Shanxi Guerrilla Brigade of the Northwest Guerrilla Brigade of the Red Army of Workers and Peasants.In September of the same year, Yan Hongyan led the Shanxi guerrilla brigade to break through the natural barrier of the Yellow River and enter northern Shaanxi.Subsequently, the Shaanxi-Gansu guerrillas led by Liu Zhidan and Xie Zichang were reorganized into the Northwest Anti-Japanese Allied Army, and later changed to the Shaanxi-Gansu Guerrillas of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army.He served as a member of the party committee, deputy commander-in-chief and captain of the second brigade.Chief of Staff of the Third Detachment.

In December 1932, after the Shaanxi-Gansu guerrillas were reorganized into the Red 16th Army, he served as the commander of the second company of the Red Second Regiment of the Red 26th Army.After the Red Second Regiment failed to go south, it returned to Zhaojin. In October 1933, it served as the commander-in-chief of the Shaanxi-Gansu Border Guerrilla Headquarters, and concurrently served as the commander-in-chief of the rear of Xuejiazhai in Zhaojin Su District.When the revolutionary base areas on the Shaanxi-Gansu border were in serious difficulties, and under the severe situation where the enemy was strong and we were weak, he led his troops to fight the enemy to the death.After Xuejiazhai fell, he led his troops into the Nanliang Revolutionary Base with Zhang Xiushan.

After February 1934, he successively served as a member of the Shaanxi-Gansu Frontier Revolutionary Military Committee and chief of staff, participated in the planning and construction of the Red Army military and political cadre school branch in the Shaanxi-Gansu Border Soviet Area, and served as vice president and director of the military department. In 1935, he served as the acting head of the third regiment of the Red 26th Army, and participated in the battle of liberating six counties including Anding and Yanchang.Later, he served as the head of the military and political science branch of the Red Army in Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia and Jin Dynasties.From November of the same year to the end of 1935, he served as battalion commander of the infantry battalion and guerrilla battalion of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army University.

In 1936, he served as chief of staff of the North Road of the Central Red Army. After 1937, he entered Yan'an Anti-Japanese Military and Political University to study.In August of the same year, he served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Shaanxi Branch Committee of the Communist Party of China, Minister of the Military Department, commander of the Security Command of the North Shaanxi Branch of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region, and commander of the teaching battalion of the Security Command of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region. From the autumn of 1938 to the month of 1939, he served as the commander of the security command of the Qinghuan sub-division of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region, the commander of the Longdong Army subdivision, and a member of the Standing Committee of the Longdong Prefectural Committee of the Communist Party of China.Attended the Second Party Congress of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region held in Yan'an.

From August 1940 to January 1941, he served as the commander of the Security Command of the Longdong Division of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region. From January 1943 to December 1945, he served as deputy brigade commander of the Third Police Brigade of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region, deputy commander of the Trilateral Garrison Region, and member of the Standing Committee of the Trilateral Prefectural Committee. From April to June 1945, he attended the Seventh National Congress of the Communist Party of China as a member of the delegation of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region.

From June 1946 to November 1947, he served as the commander of the Shoude Garrison Area and a member of the Standing Committee of the Prefectural Committee. In October 1946, he concurrently served as the commander of the Yuheng Army Division, and later served as the brigade commander of the Independent First Brigade, commander of the Suide Garrison District, and secretary of the brigade party committee. In March 1947, he participated in the battle to defend the Party Central Committee. In March 1948, he served as the commander-in-chief of the Yuheng North Line and a member of the Yulin District Working Committee.

From February to May 1949, he served as the commander, secretary of the party committee, and member of the Standing Committee of the Yuhe Military Division of the Northwest Military Region. In June, he served as the deputy director of the Yulin Military Management Committee and a member of the temporary party committee.Deputy director and director of the Reorganization Committee of the 86th Division of the Northwest Military Region.Commander of the Northern Shaanxi Military Region, Secretary of the Party Committee, Standing Committee Member of the Northern Shaanxi Administrative Office. From October 1950 to July 1952, he studied at the Nanjing Military Academy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. From 1952 to 1954, he served as the chief prosecutor of the Northwest Branch of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, a member of the Northwest Administrative Committee, and a member of the Northwest Political and Legal Committee. In August 1954, he went to the Marxist-Leninist Academy to study. In 1955, he served as the central inspector of the Central Supervisory Committee and the deputy director of the Northwest Red Army War History Editorial Committee. In January 1965, he was transferred to the Organization Department of the Central Committee and served as the deputy secretary of the eighth branch of the Organization Department of the Central Committee. He was wrongly criticized and then worked on a farm in southern Shaanxi. During the "Cultural Revolution", he was persecuted.
