Huang Zixiang (1895-1982), also known as Huang Yunzhang, was born in Lingqian Township, Sanyuan, Shaanxi. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1931. In August 1932, he served as the chairman of the Revolutionary Committee of Sanyuan Wuzi District and the minister of the Armed Forces Department of the Weibei Soviet Government. In May 1933, he served as the commander-in-chief of the Weibei guerrillas, and often led the troops to fight guerrillas in Zhaojin Gaoshanhuai and Laoyeling. In July 1933, after the failure of the Second Regiment of the 26th Army of the Red Army to go south, the Weibei guerrillas were reorganized into the 4th Regiment of the 26th Army of the Red Army of Chinese Workers and Peasants. Consolidation and development of the gold revolutionary base made a great contribution.

After 1935, he served as the head of the Organization Department of the Weibei Working Committee of the Communist Party of China and the deputy secretary of the Sanyuan Central County Party Committee. He has been engaged in anti-Japanese propaganda work in Weibei for a long time. In 1947, he organized an uprising of Kuomintang township officials in Wuzi District, Sanyuan.In July of the same year, he served as the deputy commander of the Weibei Corps of the Guanzhong Army Division and the deputy commander of the Guanzhong Army Division. In 1949, he served as the commander of the Sanyuan Military Division and the director of the Military Control Committee.After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he successively served as the commander of the Shaanxi Provincial Military Division of the Communist Party of China, the director of the Provincial Communications Department, and the vice chairman of the first to fourth provincial CPPCC. He was wrongly classified as a "rightist" and was later rehabilitated.

He died in Xi'an on February 24, 1982.
