When I was a teenager, I had an idea of "saving the country through science", so I chose the Department of Physics. After participating in the revolution, my ideas were criticized, but I thought that only talking about science and not allowing revolution would certainly not save the country; but only talking about revolution and not allowing science would make it difficult for a scientifically backward country like ours to become prosperous and strong. My thinking changed to "save the country without forgetting science".So when I was doing underground work in Shenyang, I also taught physics at Shenyang Medical College (now China Medical University in Shenyang).

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the country established the General Intelligence Agency, and most of the comrades who used to do underground work with me were assigned to this agency.A leading comrade also wanted me to work for the General Intelligence Agency.I think the Revolutionary War has been won, and there is no need for many intelligence personnel; the founding of the nation has just begun, and a large number of scientific and technological personnel are needed. Therefore, instead of going to the General Intelligence Administration, I went to Renmin University of China to teach physics.

When I arrived at Renmin University of China, I served as the leader of the Physics Group in the Department of Physics and Chemistry.I teach while studying business. In addition to compiling the "Physics Lectures" used by Renmin University of China; in 1954, I wrote the paper "The Enlightenment of Practice Theory to Natural Science Workers", which was read at the Science Symposium of Renmin University of China. In 1956, I wrote and published two books, "Electromagnetic Induction" and "Answers to Common Sense Questions about Nature". At the end of World War II, the United States dropped two atomic bombs on Japan; in 1954, the Soviet Union built an atomic power station; Specific applications in war and peace.

At that time in our country, nuclear physics research has just begun.Except Qian Sanqiang and other physicists of the older generation who have done nuclear fission experiments abroad, there are no specialized laboratories in this area in China; there are not many people dedicated to nuclear physics research. At that time I was very interested in nuclear physics, I read some books about nuclear physics.Combined with the report on "Peaceful Use of Atomic Energy" I made in the Ministry of Coal Industry and other units, I wrote an article introducing the general knowledge of nuclear physics, which was excerpted in my book "Questions and Answers on Atomic Energy General Knowledge".However, my plan to conduct research on nuclear physics and my desire to cultivate scientific and technological talents for the motherland were interrupted. This is the greatest regret in my life!
