In order to celebrate the victory of the Suiyuan Anti-Japanese War, support the Qingdao workers' anti-Japanese strike, and demand the release of Shen Junru, the leader of the National Salvation Association, etc., the Peking City Student National Salvation Federation decided to mobilize students from various schools and hold large-scale demonstrations on December 12, 1936. procession. The parade in the whole city of Beiping was divided into three groups. The students from major and middle schools in Dongcheng formed the first group, led by Peking University. After receiving the notice, the Peking University Student Union immediately mobilized students to participate in the parade. In order to avoid "encounter battles" with the military and police as soon as the parade goes out. This time we adopted the tactic of starting separately and gathering at the agreed place.

On the morning of December 12, before dawn, the gates of each school were filled with armed military police, ready to block the student team inside the school and not allowed to go out.But until the sun rose high, the military police did not find any trace of the student team. At around 8 o'clock, those students who were wandering around on the side of the road and in the small alleys assembled into a parade army at the sound of an order.Shouting slogans and singing in unison made the military and police Boran at a loss. After the three armies joined forces at the Eastern Emperor City, they started a massive demonstration.Song Zheyuan was sitting in a car on the road leading to the parade, and the students surrounded the car and asked Song Zheyuan to come out to meet him.Song hesitated to answer. The students shouted, "Support General Song Zheyuan to resist Japan!" "Support the 29th Army to defend Jicha!" and handed some leaflets to Song Zheyuan to read. Finally, Song Zheyuan agreed to meet the students in Jingshan Park in the afternoon.

Song Zheyuan's car was let go, and the brigade continued to march. At around 12:00 noon, parade teams from all walks of life gathered in the playground of the First Academy of Peking University. The meeting was being held, and suddenly received a notice from the police station of the six districts in Beiping City (near Peking University): In the afternoon, Song Zheyuan met the students in Jingshan Park and delivered a speech. After research, the parade headquarters decided to go with the whole team. At around 1:00 p.m., our Peking University parade first entered Jingshan Park, and other parades arrived one after another. There were about five thousand students in total. The Beiping city authorities sent people to bring steamed stuffed buns and boiled water; but the students didn't eat or drink. At around two o'clock in the afternoon, a large number of armed troops marched into Jingshan Park and set up guards along the inner side of the red wall. The students were a little surprised and wanted to rush out.The comrades in the headquarters shouted: Calm down!calm down!Is it bad or good? Some are still suspicious. It was not until around 5 pm that Peking Mayor Qin Dechun came to the venue. He said: Chairman Song went to Xishan for a meeting. On behalf of Chairman Song, he met with the students. He delivered a simple speech, expressing his willingness to resist Japan, but he asked everyone not to publicize it.The presidium of the conference put forward several demands on resisting Japan and saving the nation, and Qin Dechun agreed to them one by one.One of them calls for the release of the arrested students.Qin said: Do it today. All the students raised their arms and shouted: "Down with Japanese imperialism!" "Support Commander Song to fight against Japan!"The meeting is over.

When the student team walked out of the gate of Jingshan with neat steps and majestic momentum, the soldiers on guard saluted the students! The students shouted, "Support the 29th Army and defend Jicha!" At this time, it was already dark, and the students of each team were still shouting anti-Japanese slogans and singing songs of salvation in unison on their way back to school, expressing their happy mood of victory! This is another great victory achieved by the party's anti-Japanese national united front policy in the anti-Japanese national salvation movement.
