当人们在飞金流彩的深圳大街上穿行,给人感觉更多的是灼人的物欲。关于南国文化深沉的另一面却鲜得一见,因为看不见一个城市的心灵,许多人都对这个城市的未来持怀疑态度。于是,文化沙漠的命名油然而来。 显然,文化沙漠将会给这个城市带来厄运,也许是看见了令人堪忧的前景,深圳市领导们决心改变这一切。 若要抑制沙漠蔓延,就要多种树多种草。深圳市新华书店的领导和员工率先成了植树人和种草人。按说,深圳也不乏读书人,而在偌大的深圳却常常无书可买。在五六年时间里深圳已是高楼林立,却没有新华书店的一席之地。深圳市新华书店仍是原来宝安县的老家底,一排小得可怜的门市部,全部面积才300平方米。深圳此时已有40多万人,星期天来买书的人摩肩擦背人头攒动,即使费九牛二虎之力挤进书店,也难买到令人中意的书。 在深圳市领导支持下,1993年,深圳书城破土动工,全城总面积4.2万平方米,楼高33层,总投资1.8亿元。 此时的深圳,已是遍地绿洲茂树葱茏了。正是有了这些改变气候、土壤、环境的一系列努力,深圳才把目光瞄上了第七届全国书市。1995年3月1日,深圳市人民政府向国家新闻出版署申报,希望能在深圳举办全国第七届书市。 报告中说:深圳有着读书热情高,购买力较强的读者群。深圳经济特区建立以来,两个文明建设取得了较大的成就,社会全面发展,群众安居乐业,市民读书热持续高涨,人均购书量已连续6年居全国城市的首位。如第七届全国书市能在深圳举行,定能给出版者、作者、读书者提供更好的交流机会,达到互相促进的目的。国家新闻出版署鉴于深圳吞吐图书的能力和影响力,欣然同意深圳市人民政府举办第七届全国书市。 果然,第七届全国书市取得了圆满成功。书市的最高日流量达6万人次,不少读者常常因为书市停止售票而不能进场。整个书市期间,共接待购书读者近百万人次。根据图书销售金额统计排队,哲学社会科学、文学艺术、文化教育、自然科学技术四大类始终排在前4位。从中可以看出,深圳人对出版物质量和品位的追求较之以往有了明显提高。价值观已在悄悄发生变化,注重高雅精品,看重内容品质,丰富精神生活,注重精神修养,提高自身素质,增强实际能力已逐步成为深圳人现实生活的一个重要方面。 第七届全国书市是对深圳图书人的一个总考验,同样也是对深圳人文化素质的一次总考试。 深圳人爱书读书的热情给人们留下了深刻的印象。深圳把文化沙漠的帽子远远地扔到了太平洋。 战士作家高玉宝,1927年4月6日出生在辽宁省瓦房店市闫店乡孙家两屯,只念了一个多月的书就给地主放猪,9岁给日本鬼子当童工,15岁替父亲当劳工,1947年参加中国人民解放军,6个月后入党,在辽沈、平津、衡宝战役中立过六次大功、两次小功。 在行军作战中,高玉宝以画图代替文字写出20万字的自传体长篇小说《高玉宝》。该书1955年出版后,在国内引起很大反响,在国外有12个国家和地区,用15种语言翻译出版,在国内有7种民族文字出版发行,仅汉文就印了450多万册。《我要读书》和《半夜鸡叫》被编入我国中、小学生课本。其后,他又写出长篇小说《春艳》、《我是一个兵》和《高玉宝续集》,并发表100多篇短篇小说、散文、报告文学作品。 高玉宝历任战士、通信员、文艺干事、师职创作员、沈阳军区创作室名誉主任等职。曾担任第二届团中央委员、中德友好协会理事,多次参加全军、全国劳模、先进工作者大会,并参加第三届世界青年代表大会、第四届世界青年与学生和平友谊联欢节。他先后23次受到毛泽东、朱德、周恩来。等党和国家领导人的接见。1995年4月29日,参加全国劳模大会,受到国家主席的接见;1998年11月29日,受到来大连视察工作的总理的亲切接见。从1948年到1999年底,他共写讲稿65万字,在部队、学校、厂矿、机关等单位,为战士、学生、工人作报告3656场,听众达到60余万人。 1989年1月13日《辽宁日报》刊登了一幅漫画,画面上有一个八九岁的小女孩面前放着一盆茶蛋,辍学的小女孩边卖蛋,边面对40年前的高玉宝写的一本书《我要读书》掉眼泪。当高玉宝看到这幅漫画时,他哭了,提笔写道:看了此画泪满腮,我那童年别再来。无知无识怎建国,当以全心育英才。 高玉宝决心把自己的一生献给下一代,鼓励青少年刻苦学习,读书立志,长大了好报效祖国。1990年4月沙河口区成立了关心下一代工作委员会,高玉宝被聘为副主任、讲传统报告团副团长。凡是邀请他参加的青少年活动他从不推辞,作报告的日程总是排得满满的,有时一天讲三场,仅1995年就在北京、上海、南京、开封、台州等16个城市作报告182场,听众16.933万人次,他被34个单位聘为名誉校长、政委、辅导员等荣誉职务,每天还收到不少来信,最多时一天收到200多封,他坚持做到有信必回。几年来他为青少年购买赠送各种书籍1万多册,花了4万多元。 高老不仅作报告教育青少年,他还以自己的行动影响青少年,坚持做到言行一致,说到做到。1990年6月的一天,事先约定要去大连聋哑学校作报告,正赶上他心脏病发作,他的孩子们都为他担心,劝他等病情稳定一下再说。高老说:那么多孩子在盼着我,而且都是些残疾儿童,无论如何我也不能凉了他们的心。于是吃了药,骑上自行车硬挺着去了。他走上讲台,以《幸福不忘共产党》为题作报告,一边讲,手语老师一边比画作翻译。报告结束,他浑身像散了架一样,但看到台下的残疾孩子热烈鼓掌的欢快情景,不由得走到孩子们中间,拉拉他们的手,摸摸他们的头,高兴得老泪纵横。 1995年10月的一天,晚上10点多钟,熟睡中的高玉宝被突然来的电话铃声惊醒了。他拿起话筒一听,是武汉市黄陂路小学的学生打来的电话。what is the problem?原来是这个学校开展金秋读书节活动,孩子们读了《高玉宝》一书后备受感动,都很想见一见高玉宝本人,哪怕是听一听他说话的声音也好。这些小机灵还真有点子,他们通过中央电视台打听到了高玉宝家的电话。 第一个孩子刚放下电话不久,第二个孩子的电话又来了,一连接了4个小学生的电话,他们都说:高爷爷,找您真不容易,我们好高兴哟!最后一个孩子提出请高爷爷讲几句话。高玉宝对话筒说:你们要遨游知识的大海洋,练好本领去太空,为振兴中华发奋学习,做跨世纪的主人!第二天,他们便把高爷爷的话传到全班。该校德育主任知道了这个消息,马上也给高玉宝去电话,代表区教委邀请他乘飞机后天来学校,给金秋读书大会作报告。可是高玉宝已经约好要去营口市作报告,经过商量,高玉宝只好用电话对武汉市黄陂路小学师生讲了半个小时。开会时学校将讲话录音在大会上播放,使师生受到一次生动的教育。 1996年3月,高玉宝应邀到武汉市,就抽时间亲自到黄陂路小学作了一场报告。那一天,学校好像过盛大节日一样热闹,校门两边站满了学生,每人手拿鲜花迎接高爷爷。报告结束后,学生们呼啦一下围上,都要争着看一眼高爷爷,最后还与打电话的4个小学生合影留念。 年近古稀的高玉宝经常向群众作报告,每次报告一结束,就被听众团团围住,要求签名或题词。他虽然很累,但每次总是笑嘻嘻地尽力满足大家的要求。高老说:这是孩子们对我的尊敬,我理解他们的心情,签名题词是一种联络感情的好方式,也是启迪他们的一种好方法。(这些年来他共签名题词1.3万人次。) 1995年12月高老到台州市作报告,因为过度疲劳而病倒住院。当孩子们得知高爷爷住院的消息后,都纷纷带着鲜花去探望,要求签名题词。有一个十来岁的小姑娘,拿着2角钱向卖花的奶奶买一枝鲜花,老奶奶问:买一枝花干什么?她说:给我们作报告的高爷爷病了,我要去看他,身上只有2角钱,就卖给我一枝吧。最后老奶奶很感动地送给她一枝鲜花。高玉宝面对如此纯真的孩子实在无法拒绝,只好让别人扶住打吊针的左臂,把红领巾和笔记本放在桌子上为孩子们签名。前来要求签名的学生络绎不绝,每天从早到晚,一直签到出院,附近小铺的笔记本都卖完了。医院的工作人员也不甘落后,有一位护士买了4个带密码锁的高级本子,请高玉宝题词,给自己、爱人、孩子和娘家侄子各一本。 1996年5月高玉宝再次被请到台州作报告,有4个青年,从百多公里的天台县开车找到高玉宝的住处,每人带着4本极为精致的笔记本专程请高玉宝签名题词,一本是单位的,一本是自己的,一本是爱人的,一本是孩子的。高玉宝问:孩子多大了?他们回答说:最小的只有37天。高玉宝说:孩子这么小着什么急?他们说:等他长大了,上哪找您呀! 有时候,有的学生没有准备好笔记本,就请高玉宝在帽子上、衬衣上或背心上签名。 高玉宝在关心下一代工作上,默默地耕耘,跑遍了大半个望:曼初青少年都叫他高玉宝大哥,后来叫高叔叔,现在都称他为亨尊爷。52年来他报告3600余场,从不收受馈赠的礼物,还把献箩他的鲜花转赠给优秀教师,把红领巾签上名赠给优秀少先队员。但亭三门县他却十分高兴地收下了他视为珍品的礼物。这就是三门县实验小学赠送的一本看似平常却又不平常的日记本,这个日记本记载着县实验小学从校长、书记、老师到各中队的学生代表卵,听了高老报告后的表态性誓言,有的一二年级小同学的誓言还晷用拼音写成的,这些誓言代表着全校师生的心声。县关工委和县罄季关工委也怀着对高老的崇敬心情和美好祝愿,赠给高玉宝两件礼物:一支钢笔,祝愿高老用这支笔写出更好的文章和作品来教育下一代;另一件是玉雕千里马,祝愿高老的精神像千里马一样世世代代在祖国的大地上奔驰。 报告团中单打第二名是修湘同志,他是著名的渡江英雄连原二排长,就是电影《渡江侦察记》中吴老贵的原型之一。修老1945年参军,他所在的华东野战军九兵团二十七军侦察营二连,是一个英雄的连队,在淮海战役中曾荣立集体一等功。1949年4月大军渡江前夕,该连奉命执行先遣渡江侦察任务。9月,第九兵团政治部、司令部根据二连先遣渡江侦察和策应我军渡江中的突出表现,授予二连先遣渡江英雄连的光荣称号,并颁冬奖旗一面(现存于中国人民革命军事博物馆?,修湘同志在这次婆兰堡察中荣立二等功。影片《渡江侦察记》反映的就是先遣渡江侦察敌情的真实故事。修湘同志对二连被命名授旗后剧作家沈默君?上级文化部门的同志深入了解和整理二连事迹的情况至今记忆犹誓,当时修湘同志刚由排长提升为副指导员,他主持安排了采访工仟,司时又是被采访对象。由于某些情节难以言传,就到实地考考:箩湘同志领着前来采访的同志,重新走了先遣渡江侦察连所走苎箩肇线:登狮子山,去老庙,奔张家寺,上茅岭和黄连山。他边走边讲,采访者边走边看,边听边记。如侦察员们在遇到敌情后,在山上的什么地方与敌人,哪个同志隐蔽在哪块大石头后面,哪个同志在什么位置迷惑敌人,敌人在山下的什么位置等细节,经过修湘的讲解采访的同志听了特别满意。后来沈默君同志把这段故事写进了《渡江侦察记》。为了保证历史事件的真实性,1954年在拍摄《渡江侦察记》时,八一电影制片厂还特邀二十七军侦察科长慕思荣、二连连长高锦塘担任军事顾问。 至今,修老家还珍藏着一本珍贵的《先遣渡江英雄连战史》,该书共3万余言,是1984年,在该连先遣渡江
