Chapter 6 Chapter 6 He wants to set up a banner in Jiuli

Nanjing, the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties. Nanjing, which has not yet shaken off the scorching heat, was originally calm, as calm as a sleeping baby, and no one had the heart to disturb her. The Zijin Mountain is lush and lush; the Yangtze River is rolling eastward; on the Xuanwu Lake, the flower boats are swaying; in the Jiming Temple, the bells are ringing... The warm atmosphere of cheering the establishment of the Republic of China government is still shrouded in every courtyard, but a huge disaster has come down to this city— From the first moment when the Braided Army broke into Nanjing City, they "carrying" guns in their hands, rushed towards banks, towards shops, towards courtyards with high walls, and towards ordinary houses: Snatch gold and silver, snatch cloth, snatch clothes, snatch all valuable things, snatch women: block women in the house, press women on the bed, throw women in broad daylight, The beast-like destruction caused Nanjing City to tear off all the veils of shame, turning it into a scene of horror, full of tears and blood!

Zhang Xun had said beforehand that he would enter Nanjing for "three days of freedom", and he could do whatever he wanted, including women. A silk shop in Zhengyangmen was robbed of all the silk and gold cabinets, and the braided army broke in later, and there was nothing to take. They forced the shopkeeper to "dig underground floating wealth".The shopkeeper told them that "there is no floating money", and the braided army shot them with guns, and then forcibly dug the ground. As a result, I dug inside and outside the house, but still nothing. The braided army was furious, knocked the shopkeeper to the ground, and walked away.

In a jewelry store in Yifengmen, the jewelry was robbed, and the owner's daughter was raped. The boss was furious, first he reasoned, and then he picked up a big stick and fought hard.As a result, he was beaten to death by the braided army. Two small vendors who set up street stalls in Xuanwu Gate were robbed of their money and belongings, and the small vendors chased after them to reason: "Are you soldiers or bandits? Why do you rob money in broad daylight?" "We are heavenly soldiers, long-haired heavenly soldiers! The world is ours, and we can take whatever we want!"

In Nanjing City, it was dark for a while, and the dark clouds covered the city, and everyone felt terrified.Several people of insight were surprised, thinking that "Zhang Xun's team would not do such a thing."Therefore, an old gentleman named Hong Tailei was elected to meet Zhang Xun and asked for an order to stop it. Hong Tailei was born in Juren, and he was indifferent to official career, so he became a Yimin long ago.Now that he is more than seventy years old and his temples are graying, he hastily went to see Zhang Xun with his upright spirit. "My lord, the city of Nanjing has been destroyed!" Hong Tailei went to Zhang Xun, bowed deeply, and begged repeatedly. "Please Marshal Zhang, save the people of Nanjing!"

Zhang Xun did not evade, admitting that his braided army did it.However, he said: "I have something to say beforehand: break into Nanjing City and have a three-day holiday. Therefore, they are all free for three days, and they are not under my control. If they do bad things after three days, I will investigate and deal with them. Now, it is not yet Three days, so I can't use military discipline against them." "Marshal, if you do this, your reputation will be ruined." Hong Tailei said, "You are a person with status and influence." "I need soldiers more!" Zhang Xun became angry. "Do you understand? I need soldiers. I need people who will die for me!"

"Then you don't want the common people?!" "Yes! When I have more soldiers and become stronger, I want the world! Now is not the time. Now is the time to ask for soldiers!" Hong Tailei sighed, shook his body and walked away.Braided soldiers are still robbing and raping in Nanjing. In the battle of attacking Nanjing, Yuan Shikai, Zhang Xun, Feng Guozhang, and Duan Zhigui seemed to have a tacit understanding, "the one who enters the customs first is king".Therefore, all three of them worked hard with the duty of "grabbing the governor of Jiangsu".When Zhang Xun broke the city, Feng Guozhang's first army was blocked by the railway, and it was only at Luxi camp at this moment, while Duan Zhigui was still upstream, and only Lei Zhenchun's 11 troops came to Ning to fight. In this way, Zhang Xun will be the governor of Jiangsu steadily.

After Feng Guozhang arrived in Pukou, Zhang Xun rushed to meet him.As soon as the two met, Feng said: "The commander-in-chief has worked so hard to attack the city this time, so he should take on the task of supervising Su." Zhang Xun was not modest, but nodded in silence. Feng Guozhang asked Hu Siyuan to draft a telegram to Yuan Shikai, explaining that during the attack on Nanjing, "Zhang Xun conquered the fortified pass, worked hard, lived in Nanjing for a long time, and got along well with the southerners." When Yuan Shikai got the news from Nanjing, he felt that the overall situation was settled, so he changed his original plan and awarded Zhang Xun, the governor of Jiangsu.

The city of Nanjing is still being robbed. The most difficult thing to fill in the world is probably the human heart. It took less than three days for the braided army to enter Nanjing, and both the officers and men were already wealthy! However, they were still not satisfied. The Chinese were all robbed, so they went to rob foreigners. A group of braided soldiers found three potbellied foreigners with a big bulging suitcase at the foot of Wutai Mountain. They thought there were valuables in them, so they rushed to snatch them. When the three of them saw this, they screamed. When the braided soldiers heard that they were not Chinese, they felt that they had money to snatch. Then he said cursingly: "Damn, wow what? I am a braided soldier, what I want is money, take it here!"

When the braided soldiers went to grab it, the foreigners ran away. One of the Chinese-speaking people said: "We are officials stationed in China of the Great Japanese Empire, you must not be unreasonable!" Braided soldiers don't know the rules of diplomacy, their eyes are full of money. They said to the Japanese: "How about the Japanese? I just want to rob the Japanese! I will drive the Japanese out in the future!" You can't argue, let's raise our hands. The braided soldiers ran all over the streets, causing trouble without incident. When they saw their accomplices robbing and fighting, they swarmed up, knocked the three Japanese to the ground, and snatched the suitcase.

When the three Japanese returned to the consulate and told about the robbery, the consul became furious and immediately sent a note to the governor's office to demand a public apology, compensation for losses, and the arrest of the perpetrator. Zhang Xun was in a daze, so he didn't pay attention to a note from a consulate. So, I returned the note intact, and said, "As long as the Chinese don't go to Japan to rob things, anyone can rob them!" The Japanese did not agree, and they united with the British and American imperialist agencies in China to protest to Yuan Shikai, asking Yuan Shikai to double the compensation for the loss, and to order Zhang Xun to make amends in person at the consulate, and to replace the Jiangsu governor.

Yuan Shikai is doing the work of winning the support of the eastern and western imperialists, and finally seizing the power of China. He has long regarded the imperialist countries as gods, and he is afraid of flattery. It's not willing, so they can take the opportunity to take him down again.Yuan Shikai only said hello to a few people around him, and then issued an order to Zhang Xun—— It was Zhang Xun who was intoxicated with victory, and Yuan Shikai's special envoy arrived. After clarifying the diplomatic stakes, Zhang Xun was taken aback. The special envoy said: "If it is not done well, it will cause international disputes, and even the president will not be able to handle it." Zhang Xun knows how powerful foreigners are. When the Eight-Power Allied Forces entered Beijing, even Cixi had to flee, and in the end she had to sign a contract and be restrained. He asked: "How to do this?" "I'm afraid you have to go to the Japanese consulate to apologize in person." The special envoy said, "We also need to compensate for the damage and punish the perpetrators." "Punish...?" Zhang Xun felt that it would be easy to pay compensation and damages, but punishing the perpetrators was difficult—how? The special envoy said: "You take the stolen Japanese things and go to the Japanese consulate to say a few good words. It is not up to you to punish the perpetrators." Zhang Xun had no choice but to follow suit. An apology finally calmed down the Japanese. However, Zhang Xun felt ashamed. When he came back from the Japanese consulate, he closed the door of his own, and he cursed: "You son of a bitch, little Japan, I can't forgive you, I have to get out!" However, how to get angry? Zhang Xun didn't think clearly. Two months later, in December 1913, Yuan Shikai took off Zhang Xun's "Jiangsu Governor" hat and put it on Feng Guozhang's head, but gave Zhang Xun the title of "Yangtze River Tour Envoy" The title made him "move the army to Taiping". This decision was even more shocking than when Zhang Xun went to the Japanese Consulate to apologize: He frowned and said to himself: "The inspector? The inspector? You want me to give up Nanjing!?" Zhang Xun called his civil and military arms in front of him, presented Yuan Shikai's decision, and said, "Look, what should we do?" After everyone knew the situation, they kept silent—it wasn't that they couldn't see through it, but they didn't dare to speak out after seeing it through.Yuan Shikai's intention was very clear. This move was to disperse Zhang's troops and place his only troops in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, so that he could not concentrate and could not afford to cause trouble. If we put this into perspective, we still don’t know whether Zhang Xun and Yuan Shikai are relatives or estranged today? What’s more, in Yuan Shikai’s decision, Zhang Xun was given the title of “Anhui Governor”; , I'm afraid this braided soldier will no longer have strength. Therefore, everyone was silent, waiting for Zhang Xun to make a decision. Zhang Xun looked at everyone and smiled. "I understand your feelings. You are afraid that I will be fooled by President Yuan Da. Isn't that right?" People smile, nod. "No. I won't fall for him." "What then?" people asked. "It's easy to handle." Zhang Xun said: "The good bird is looking for a high branch to live in. I'm going to Taiping, I'm going What's the tour? I'm going north to Xuzhou!"' "Going to Xuzhou?!" Everyone was stunned: Zhang Xun was afraid of Xuzhou, afraid of encountering "Ambush from Ten Daggers" again in Xuzhou, he became the second Xiang Yu. "Why are you going to Xuzhou again today?" "What are you afraid of?!" Zhang Xun said frankly: "In Xuzhou, there are two railways crossing from east to west, and from north to south. It's like I have four wings on my body. I can fly wherever I want in the future! Everyone laughed. Zhang Xun said again: "Xuzhou not only has Xiang Yu, but also Liu Bang. Does it mean that we will not be allowed to make money in the future?" In January 1914, 61-year-old Zhang Xun led his braided army north to Xuzhou——from then on, Xuzhou became Zhang Xun's base camp. The Jinpu Railway, which was built just three years ago, and the Longhai Railway, which was built eight years ago, intersect in Xuzhou, a place of war, making the ancient city of Xuzhou truly a "thoroughfare of five provinces". Xuzhou woke up.Xuzhou rejoiced. However, Xuzhou was also confused. The braided army was transported from Nanjing to Xuzhou by train. The small and crude train station immediately became crowded and chaotic, and from the streets to the shops, it became the world of braided soldiers. They swayed the braids on their backs, and when they saw people, they arrested people, when they saw cars, they grabbed cars, and when they saw donkeys, they would not let them go.After the terrified people calmed down for a while, they suddenly discovered a novelty: the things that the braided army brought down from the train were not all guns and bullets, but most of them were boxes and cabinets, large and small bags, bundles of thick and thin, as well as tables, chairs and benches. , clothing and furniture, cultural relics, calligraphy and paintings, even flowerpots, goldfish bowls, and even more strangely, there are signs of Nanjing Big Stores (because they are copper or gold-plated products).People were surprised: "What are they transporting these things for? To fight for war and do business?" Soon, people understood that they were all looted in Nanjing.Yes, Xuzhou people are worried: One day, the braided army will also loot Xuzhou! Whether the citizens of Xuzhou were frightened or cursed, Zhang Xun remained indifferent. He couldn't separate his mind, the continuous wandering life and the continuous accidents made him flustered and disheartened. Zhang Xun did not want to leave Nanjing. He wanted to build it up again after it was swept away in Nanjing, so that Nanjing people would "smile" when they mentioned him.He couldn't do it anymore, Yuan Shikai transferred his "throne" to Feng Guozhang again, and he became an out-and-out "robber" in Nanjing. A year ago, in 1913, Yuan Shikai forced the two palaces to move to the Summer Palace.Zhang Xun ran from Yanzhou to Beijing, and asked Yuan Shikai about the preferential treatment clauses for the Qing Dynasty: "Why did you do this?" Yuan Shikai had no way to explain, so he had to keep it as it was.Soon after Empress Jing ascended to the throne (dead), Zhang Xun, in addition to leading the gentry and merchants in Yanzhou to cry like a rite, also showed everything that the empress ordered the Li people to obey. He also went to Beijing to force Yuan Shikai to announce the empress dowager's pulse. case.Yuan Shikai softly turned him away and ignored him. Zhang Xun was so angry that he left Beijing crying. What annoyed and ashamed him most, of course, was the apology to the Japanese on the eve of leaving Nanjing, especially when he walked into the Japanese consulate and stepped into the so-called living room. move.Zhang Xun was furious in his heart: "I am a dignified governor of Jiangsu, an official of the imperial court, what prestige is your little Japanese consul pretending to be!" Anger turned into anger, and he had to hand over the note of apology to the Japanese according to the diplomatic ceremony, and return the stolen box... Zhang Xun Xun never imagined that he would have such an unfavorable road after he was sixty years old. When he was stationed in Xuzhou, he had to think about it carefully and figure out a way—how should he go in Xuzhou? Zhang Xun closed the door and lay on the bed, trying to calm his mind. For so long, due to the bumps and bumps, he has lost weight. He raised his hand to stroke his cheek, as if touching a piece of wood; when he lowered his hand, his arm seemed to have become thinner, and the jasper bracelet newly snatched from Nanjing was so easy. fell off.Zhang Xun heard from a pedant that the bracelet is still an ancient weapon. "The general dropped his weapon, isn't it an ominous omen!" He bowed to pick up the jade bracelet, and threw it towards the corner of the wall—it was smashed to pieces. When Zhang Xun was at his most chaotic, he often scolded Yuan Shikai: "You are the general representative of the Han people among the courtiers. Why don't you fight for the Han people? You should lead the Han people to be a generation of loyal ministers and good generals, and your name will go down in history! How can you lead the way?" Did you betray the court?!" After cursing for a while, he felt grateful to Yuan Shikai again—— Yuan Shikai treated Zhang Xun well, not to mention far away. In the past year, Yuan Shikai has continuously awarded Zhang Xun officials and awards. Some time ago, he went south from Yanzhou. He also added a Jiangbei Zhenfu envoy; before he left Nanjing and went north to Xuzhou, Yuan Shikai set up a general's mansion, and he grandly awarded Zhang Xun as the general of Dingwu, and changed the former army of Wuwei to the Dingwu army. He also served as a tour envoy of the Yangtze River.Without these titles, how might you, Zhang Xun, look powerful?" It was the first drizzle in Xuzhou since the beginning of spring. This drizzle fell for two days and nights, washing the city covered with thick dust and sand! In the morning, the rain stopped and the clouds cleared. The blue sky looks very empty and fresh. After Zhang Xun got up, washed his face with cold water, walked out of the room, stood under the sycamore tree in the courtyard, moved his joints, took two deep breaths, and then raised his eyes to look into the distance—as far as his eyes could see, There is only the beautiful Yunlong Mountain in the south of the city: the young pines are lush and green, and there is a blue wave; a building with upturned eaves is exposed in the green shade, soaring into the sky, piercing the sky, and the washed gray tiles reflect the morning glow, scattering light blue light. , seems to be floating gently... "This place is so beautiful!" Zhang Xun's heart moved. The last time he came to Xuzhou, he was flustered and didn't care about enjoying the flowers and scenery; this time, although his mood was not very calm, he could always take a breath and give him a little relaxation. He also dreamed of a world where he could breathe freely, so that His thoughts came out from the battle and the bullets—although he didn't have the pleasure of admiring the beautiful scenery, he was still happy to be a vassal. When he returned to the room, a small matter made him uneasy again: who should accompany him to enjoy the scenery? Zhang Xun was born in the army, advocating martial arts and despising literature. In recent years, although he feels that what he lacks the most is a large pen, so he often loses face on certain occasions, but he is always emotionally unable to pay attention to writing. He is too superstitious about force! There are two confidantes in his heart: one is the "resourceful" Chief of Staff 7 Commander Wan Shengzhang, but he thinks this person is too yin and yang, more treacherous than honest, and cannot be reused; the other is Dingwujun Commander Zhang Wensheng, but this man is too martial, more than capable of charge and lack of resourcefulness, he is a person who cannot enter the "Great Hall".Therefore, these two people are not enough to accompany him to enjoy the scenery. He wanted to find a pedant from Xuzhou to tell him about Xuzhou. However, he didn't have a single acquaintance in Xuzhou, let alone someone he could trust; on the contrary, he knew that Xuzhou people had a bad impression of him, and his braided soldiers brought considerable disaster to Xuzhou people. Xuzhou people cannot forgive them! du8.com copyright It was when Zhang Xun was upset that someone reported to "Wang Shaohua, the civil affairs chief (county head) of Tongshan County, asking to see him." "Wang Shaohua?" Zhang Xun's heart sank.He seemed to know this person, but forgot. In short, the impression is not good. However, Xuzhou City is located in Tongshan County and is under the jurisdiction of Tongshan County. Since Wang Shaohua is the head of a county, he cannot be seen. So, Hum said a sullen "Please!" Wang Shaohua came in front of Zhang Xun and stood there gracefully, Zhang Xun was startled.According to his imagination, a local county magistrate should look old and slow, and even act slowly. It turned out that standing in front of him was a young scholar: he was tall and slender, with a fair face, thick eyebrows and big eyes, with a youthful look, wearing a light gray gown, and a woolen top hat that was rarely seen in the market. . "Isn't this the Revolutionary Party!?" Zhang Xun was not very clear about the attire of the Revolutionary Party members, so he guessed. As a result of thinking this way, he felt disgusted in vain—he hated the Revolutionary Party. He swore against the Revolutionary Party. "Are you the civil affairs chief of the county?" Zhang Xun said, "The civil affairs chief is the county chief, right?" "Tongshan County does not have an official civil affairs chief," Wang Shaohua said, "I was elected by the people in the county as acting civil affairs chief." "Oh, what are you looking for?" Zhang Xun didn't even let him sit down, and turned around contemptuously. "I didn't look for you, it was your subordinates who brought me here." "Looking for you?" Zhang Xun was puzzled.A follower comes in. "Report to Commander-in-Chief: Our Dingwu Army is stationed in Xuzhou, and it is very difficult to provide housing. We asked the county to solve it, but he pushed back and forth, so he was called here." "I know." Zhang Xun still said contemptuously: "The army stationed in Xuzhou is a blessing for the people, and it is also an order from the court—no, it is also an order from the president. The supply of housing should naturally be resolved by the officials of the local government. Why don't you do your duty Woolen cloth?" "After the war and the war, Xuzhou has long been empty." Wang Shaohua calmly talked, "The commander knows Xuzhou well. It's not that I didn't do my duty, it's just that the people are too miserable and can't produce anything." "So the soldiers don't want to live?" "Soldiers should naturally be supported by the state." Wang Shaohua said: "Although the land in Xuzhou is poor and the mountains are barren, there are still a lot of royalties and national taxes. I have fulfilled the responsibility of the people to the country. Therefore, if the people are required to send them out, wouldn't it be excessive expropriation? .As a local official, I ask the commander-in-chief to take back his order and not to increase the burden on the people." Zhang Xun widened his eyes and was at a loss for words. Wang Shaohua also said: "Commander, the Dingwu army came to Xuzhou this time. The military discipline is very poor. People's property is plundered, and people are beaten and scolded. This happens frequently; even the local soldiers who maintain law and order are often humiliated. I also want to ask you to Shuai can understand the grievances of the people, and clearly punish the criminals, so as to build up the army's prestige..." How could Zhang Xun listen to these persuasions, "This is simply the revolutionary party condemning him!" He jumped up "teng—" and retorted loudly: "I don't want to listen to you! I don't ask you whether to pay or not." Pay the royal grain and national tax? I have arrived in Xuzhou, and Xuzhou has the final say. The supplies our army needs must be delivered on time. If you can’t handle it, I can’t spare you!” He waved his hand fiercely. A few braided soldiers pushed Wang Shaohua out. Wang Shaohua, a local, was the earliest member of the Tongmenghui in Xuzhou, and was once the director of Tongshan County Autonomous Research Institute. After the Revolution of 1911, the Tongshan County Autonomous Government was established. He served as the head of communication and inspector, led the establishment of the No. 6 Primary School in Dapeng City, Tongshan County, and served as the principal. The revolutionary army was forced to retreat and the autonomous government was disbanded. He still stayed in Xuzhou, led the people, maintained social order, and was elected by the people as acting chief of civil affairs. He is a good man with progressive thinking and no fear of power. He was only 35 years old at the time. Wang Shaohua was humiliated by Zhang Xun, and seeing that the struggle was useless, he returned to the county office and committed suicide! To send off the funeral, and the street of the County Office was renamed "Shaohua Street", which has continued to this day. This is something to say, just mention it. Wang Shaohua fell to his death from a building, but Zhang Xun's brutal punishment still did not ease. The braided army brought a serious disaster to Xuzhou... At the beginning of the Republic of China, it was not consolidated; the monarchy was overthrown, but the ashes were still alive.Sun Yat-sen's second revolution did not go well, so he had to temporarily retreat to the south; although the Beiyang faction headed by Yuan Shikai had their own ulterior motives, they hadn't broken their face for a while, and maintained a state of "harmony". There was a temporary calm in the country. Yuan Shikai, who seized the presidency, was particularly sensitive to China's temporary peace. He even believed that "the world will be peaceful from now on!" Yuan Shikai is the biggest careerist in modern China. He was only 33 years old when he trained the new army in Tianjin and was promoted to Zhili Inspectorate. He wanted to dominate China's military power. The darling of the dynasty; after seizing the position of president, he dreamed of being an emperor again. After all, Yuan Shikai had been favored by the emperor to ascend to Qingyun. He knew the power of the imperial power and the nobility of the imperial court. When he knelt down and shouted three times to "Lafayette" and "Your Majesty" every day, he thought: "Why is only Aixinjueluo family this honor, and I, Yuan Shikai, can't have it?" Now, Yuan Shikai has the conditions , he dreamed of an emperor! Zhang Xun, who lived in Xuzhou, hurried to Beijing again soon.He didn't go to thank Yuan Shikai first for the kindness of "Admiral Dingwu", but sneaked into the palace to meet the nine-year-old little emperor Puyi who had fallen out of favor. In August, the capital is still surrounded by greenery, and the heat is still strong; in the deserted Forbidden City, only the red walls and golden tiles still show the majesty it once had, but the momentum of the mountains echoing the sea in the past has disappeared; The palace people are listless, like fallen autumn leaves, withered and lifeless; the red gates are closed; the stone-paved shrines are covered with weeds.Walking into this place, Zhang Xun immediately felt a swish of cold air. "Is the Qing Dynasty really exhausted?" He shook his head fiercely, but the feeling of loss did not change at all. Zhang Xun not only has a long braid on his back, but also a top belt of flower feathers on his body. Although he is alone, he still feels that this sacred place is the only one that can be considered dignified and decent! Puyi was waiting for Zhang Xun in a small palace, with no more followers, only one of his teachers, Chen Baochen, was by his side. Zhang Xun walked in, shook his horseshoe sleeves, knelt down on his knees, touched his head to the ground, and cried out in grief, "Long live, long live!" This was the first time Zhang Xun saw Pu Yi alone. Nine-year-old Fu Yi didn't show much of his majesty. After he abdicated, he lived in the inner palace, and he had already forgotten the world outside the world. He was so frightened that he had never met anyone or received any worship alone. Close your eyes and plunge into the teacher's arms. After sobbing for a while, Zhang Xun said: "My emperor is too old to suffer such a catastrophe. This is the misfortune of the country and the people. It is the crime of my slaves. I hope that my emperor will be magnanimous, my slave..." Puyi still buried At first, he hugged Chen Baochen's leg with both hands, shaking his head repeatedly. Chen Baochen patted Pu Yi's back lightly, and said to Zhang Xun: "Master Zhang, please get up and talk. At this moment, it doesn't matter so much about #LT. Please get up, please get up." Zhang Xun burst into tears and couldn't make a sound. "Your majesty is at this age, and he has suffered such a catastrophe. We, the courtiers and slaves, have no face to see the world again! The slaves have been away from the court for the past few years. They wanted to consolidate a piece of yellow heaven and establish the world, but who knew that they were powerless. The emperor was robbed, hated and hated. I should ask for the holy order. If the emperor still feels that the slave is so loyal and can't bear to give the order, I will definitely create another opportunity to serve the emperor and help the emperor to ascend to the throne..." Chen Baochen shook his head and smiled slightly. "Master Zhang, this is a world-shattering and ghost-shattering event, and you must not act rashly." "What's there to be afraid of?" Zhang Xun said, "For the sake of the foundation of the Qing Dynasty, even if the heart and brain are ruined, I will not hesitate." "That's not what I mean." Chen Baochen said: "It is our bounden duty as ministers to regain the throne for the emperor. However, there is also a time for this! If the time is not up, what's the point of sacrificing in vain if the time is not up? What is the use? Master Zhang, this matter has to be discussed in the long run, and we must not act too hastily." Zhang Xun also felt that this matter was not so simple and easy, he just wanted to express his determination in front of the little emperor. Therefore, as soon as Chen Baochen persuaded him, he nodded in response, "Yes." Then he said: "Master Chen is always by the emperor's side, you should comfort the emperor more, and rest in peace. The whole world is still the emperor's. A servant who is loyal to the emperor, my lord." Someone is here. The emperor must not be depressed." After talking about something else, Zhang Xun left in a hurry. When Zhang Xun walked out of the small palace, he just felt that this place that used to be so sacred that people dare not even lift their heads has become so deserted today! He felt sad, desolate, and felt that the world had darkened.Walking in front of the Qianqing Palace, Zhang Xun stopped and stood, looking at the closed lintel and the "Qianqing Palace" plaque engraved in both Chinese and Manchu languages, he was stunned. He seemed to be looking for something, and he seemed to want to say something? But in the end, he just gave a long bow to the closed lintel, and then knelt down, touching the floor tiles with his head... Among the largest ancient buildings in the world with 720,000 square meters and more than 9,000 houses, Qianqing Palace is the most sacred and tragic place. It was built in the eighteenth year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty (1420) ), is a palace for emperors to govern. In the seventeenth year of Ming Chongzhen (1644), Li Baicheng led the rebel army into Beijing. The Chongzhen Emperor escaped from here and hanged himself in Jingshan after leaving the Shenwumen.Since Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty, this place has been the emperor's residence and government affairs office; it is also the place where the emperor's successor is decided. The emperor reviewed the memorials, selected officials, and summoned his officials here. That year, Zhang Xun escorted him back to Luan, and it was here that Cixi Enzhun summoned him. When he was proclaimed into the hall and saw the huge plaque of "Upright and Bright" hanging on the front, he felt that he had ascended to heaven.Since then, Zhang Xun felt that the Qianqing Palace is the sun of China, and its light will always shine on the mountains and rivers of China.Once upon a time, today's competition became so deserted, so unable to shine! Zhang Xun knelt down for a long time, then got up listlessly, and said to himself with tears: "I will never let my emperor perform again. The tragedy of Jingshan being killed by Shenwumen! I will definitely reopen this gate, and let the light of righteousness and justice shine all over the world!" Zhang Xun did not go back to the old house in Nanheyan, nor did he go to the newly completed small building in Taipingcang in Xicheng - it took him two years to build a mansion there. Yuan Shikai awarded him a general, and he was qualified to build a general. House——, he went to see Yuan Shikai in a hurry.Yuan Shikai met Zhang Xun in a quiet room in Zhongnanhai. Here, an intimate atmosphere is clearly created—no followers, no tables, no distinction between guests and hosts. Yuan Shikai also took off the marshal uniform he usually wears, and takes off his hat in casual clothes, but the braids are no longer hanging behind his head; With a slightly gray light. Before Zhang Xun arrived, Yuan Shikai was already waiting inside the door.As soon as Zhang arrived, he hurriedly greeted him and gave a "brother" salute. This made Zhang Xun extremely disturbed, and he stood in a daze, not knowing how to socialize. Although Zhang Xun was five years older than Yuan Shikai, in the past he always regarded him as an "officer" and "benefactor" and never dared to deviate in the slightest.Seeing that Yuan Shikai regards him as "big brother" today, why is he not flattered and shocked! "This... this..." Zhang Xun hesitated. "This is my living room, it's my home." Yuan Shikai said with a smile, "Naturally, it should be 'a home without common etiquette'. You are older, and you are a big brother." "Don't dare to be, dare not be!" The two walked into the room, the tea was ready, Yuan Shikai only needed to hold it up, and then sat down while exchanging greetings. Before that, Yuan Shikai had sent a telegram to ask for Zhang Xun's opinion on the issue of changing the imperial system. When we meet today, of course we must start with this matter.Yuan Shikai picked up his teacup and said: "Regarding the issue of restructuring, it is really a last resort. The opinions of all parties have tended to agree, and the letter and telegram are urgent. How can I push me to this position? How can I refute all parties?" Therefore, I have no choice but to send a telegram to Big Brother, and I still want to hear Big Brother’s opinion, whether to go or follow, and never dare to act arbitrarily.” When speaking, Yuan Shikai showed a modest, pious, and helpless look. Zhang Xun had long been dissatisfied with Yuan; when it came to Yuan's change of the monarchy, he hated it deeply, thinking that it was usurping the dynasty and changing the dynasty. He wants to scold him and break with him.Seeing Yuan Shikai spit out some helpless words now, I felt sympathy.Busy and frankly expressed his opinion: "Reform the system, you must not do it. You and I are deeply indebted to the emperor. If you rebel against the Qing Dynasty, you will become a sinner through the ages! What's more, the emperor is still alive, and you should treat it with the sun; he It is our sin to abdicate the throne; now, if we re-establish the emperor and change the name, I am afraid that the hearts of the people will not be tolerated, and the laws of heaven will not tolerate it!" When Yuan Shikai saw that Zhang Xun was so decisive in opposing the change of the monarchy, he knew that it was difficult to turn things around. Then he said: "The state affairs are in turmoil, and someone should come out to support them. Besides, the world is also in a time of sudden changes. How can a country be without an owner?" Zhang Xun hurriedly said: "'Master, isn't he still alive! You are justified, and you still go to manage your prime minister's mansion. Isn't the world peaceful again?" Yuan Shikai's face turned cold.He said slowly and firmly: "The abdicated emperor, it cannot be raised no matter what. The trend of the world is towards democracy and republic. The young emperor was kicked out by the revolutionary party. How can we make peace with the revolutionary party? Help the young emperor again?" "You can't help the young emperor, so why revive the monarchy?" Zhang Xun pushed forward. "Maintain the status quo, why don't you still be the president of your republic?" After a pause, he added: "As long as no one overthrows you, you can continue to be the president." The words are not speculative, and the atmosphere is tense.Zhang Xun pushed the teacup and got up to say goodbye. Yuan Shikai didn't have the same enthusiasm as when he went out to greet him. He only owed him a bow and saw him off. Zhang Xun walked out of Zhongnanhai, looked up at the sky, and sighed deeply: "Beijing, how did it become like this!" du8.com copyright When Zhang Xun returned to Xuzhou from Beijing, it was the Mid-Autumn Festival. The sky is high and the air is crisp, the clouds are light and the wind is light. He wanted to spend a few days in peace and get rid of some complicated things. ''The world is too chaotic, I can't manage it as a warrior, I just care about what I can manage. "What should he care about himself? But he can't tell clearly. Just when he was thinking about it but couldn't make up his mind, someone reported, "Two Mr. Xu from Jiangxi are asking to see you!" "Mr. Xu from Jiangxi?!" Zhang Xun was startled: "Someone from my master has come!" The Xu family at Gangzuitou is Zhang Xun's great benefactor and master, and Zhang Xun never dares to forget. If it weren't for these years of wandering around, he would have gone to the post to thank him. Now, someone in Xu's residence asked for an interview, Zhang Xun did not dare to neglect, instead of "passing in", he came out of the residence to greet him. Zhang Xun walked outside the door, and saw a young man standing there, with delicate features and an extraordinary bearing. When the young man saw Zhang Xun—he didn't know Zhang Xun, he only saw braids on the back of his head, a beard around his mouth, he was accompanied by people, and he walked out with official steps, so he probably—— , hurriedly bowed, and said: "Xu Xiwu, the mouth of the villain, is here to pay a visit to Mr. Zhang and pay his respects to Mr. Zhang." Zhang Xun didn't know him—it was impossible for him to know him. When Zhang Xun left Gangzuitou for Nanchang at the age of 23, there was no such person in the world—but hearing that he was from Gangzuitou, he was naturally welcome. "Since the people from Xu's house are all from the master's house, there is no need to salute, and enter the house quickly. Xu Xiwu followed Zhang Xun into the living room, someone offered fragrant tea, and then they started talking. It turned out that this Xu Xiwu was a distant cousin of Xu Xifu, the son Zhang Xun was studying with, and the nephew of Mr. Liu Yuxian.Hearing his cousin Liu Gentang's praise of Zhang Xun, knowing that this fellow villager who has become a high-ranking official has not forgotten his hometown and is also in a difficult situation at home, so he came here to ask for something to do. Feeling ashamed to say it, Xu Xiwu said embarrassingly: "I have read the sage books for ten years in the sky, but I have nowhere to use them. I beg Mr. Zhang to help me a little bit, so that I have a place to hide." You are the younger brother of Mr. Xu, and also the half master of me, Mr. Zhang. Don’t call me your lord anymore, let’s be like brothers. "Zhang Xun does not forget the past, and does not forget the Xu family. Don't dare, dare not.Xu Xiwu said: "China is a country of etiquette, and great etiquette cannot be violated." Well, you stay in Xuzhou for a few days first, rest, wait for me to find a good place, and then send you there. " Xu Xiwu quickly expressed his gratitude, and went to the residence with his attendants. Although Zhang Xun doesn't study much, he has a strong sense of his hometown, is keen on local public welfare undertakings, and is willing to donate generously. After he made his fortune, he bought houses in Beijing and Tianjin and bought two "Jiangxi Guild Halls", and settled down in Beijing and Tianjin as a guest and traveling fellow countryman; he also bought the real estate of Chongli Hall before the school in Nanchang Prefecture, and established it as "Fengxin Fellow Township Association". He provided board and lodging for Fengxin's poor students studying in Nanchang; he also built a wharf on the bank of the river outside Huimin Gate in Nanchang, which greatly facilitated the ships from Fengxin and Jing'an counties to and from Nanchang; Most of them are dilapidated thatched houses, and he invested most of them to build blue-brick buildings, and purchased school fields and property to help the poor children of the clan to study; Zhang Xun also funded the construction of a stone bridge outside the south gate and west gate of Fengxin County. Convenient transportation; the gravel road from Fengxin to Changtoupo Baihuali was also funded by Zhang Xun.Zhang Xun often tells his family: "Loyalty cannot be moved, and hometown cannot be forgotten!" Last time, Liu Gentang was invited to Nanjing and Xuzhou by him. Although he half-played and half-ridiculed Zhang, Zhang still repaid his teacher's love. Now, someone from Xu's residence has come, he is very happy, and he wants to repay the Lord's favor. Zhang Xun smiled. "How……"
