Robber's box 弗兰克·鲍姆 3093Words 2018-03-22
"Come on, Ralph, my man." Jean pulled Ralph out of the fishbowl, "show them how smart you are." Jean speaking to Ralph surprised no one, because Ralph Husband is just an ordinary-looking mouse.Children often talk to their animals. Ralph struggled in Jean's hand, which still smelled of egg sandwiches from lunch. "Relax, Lars," Jean said, "You can do it." "I need to do some warm-up first," said Ralph creakingly. Jean ignored it, maybe he didn't hear it, because the students gathered around to see more clearly, and there was a buzz of excitement.Jean puts Rall in front of an opening in the paper fence and says, "As soon as Brad's Gail fires, you run for Peanut Cheese."

Ralph twitched his paws, trying to get them moving one last time; at the same time he twitched his nose, trying to smell the peanut cheese at the end of the maze.Unfortunately, the house was full of smells - popcorn and ketchup on pancakes from school, peanut cheese, bacon, eggs, citrus and bananas from lunch brought from home smell.Ralph also smelled grape-flavored bubble gum, the stench of sweaty socks, and the scent of Miss Ka's soap. At this time, when the teacher said "Stand on the starting line", Ralph was completely confused. He knelt down and waited for the gunshot, but the gun never went off.

"My gun cover is stuck," Brad said. Just out of the warm fish tank, it was a little cold outside, and Ralph's muscles felt stiff. He feels that he has been waiting here for a long time, and he will wait more. Finally Brad's gun went off, "Boom!" "Go, Ralph, go!" the whole class yelled. These shouts are enough to discourage even the bravest mouse. After all, however, the children showed Ralph the opening of the maze, so that he knew where to start running. He passed through the entrance and bumped his nose against the cardboard wall.He turned to another road.

"No!" screamed the children. "Not that way! The other way!" Ralph ran in the direction they pointed, and got another bump on the nose. "My motorcycle," thought Ralph desperately, "if I can't get it right, I won't be coming back." "Ralph! Don't disappoint me." Jean's voice rose above all the shouts. In the partitions of the labyrinth, the breath of all kinds of lunch smells on him.Ralph had no idea which way the peanut cheese was going. "Ralph the silly mouse!" Brad yelled. "Shut up and give him a chance!" screamed Malice.

Ralph suddenly became angry. He knew he was a smart mouse, so why would he scurry around and bump his nose in front of people gorging on pancakes and sandwiches? He deftly hopped up the partition wall, smelled a pure smell of peanut cheese, and flew up to the side wall of the maze.He really wanted to show them how smart he was. When Ralph was half way from the peanut cheese, he felt hands close to him that smelled of egg sandwiches. "Hey," Jean said, "don't do that." Ralph found himself back at the entrance of the maze. He felt that the world was too unfair, so he was furious all of a sudden. No one said he had to bump his nose in every dead-end section of the maze. Why is it that way?The purpose is to eat peanut cheese as soon as possible.

"Stand on the starting line." Miss Ka said for the second time. "Bang!" Gail snapped. Ralph jumped on the partition wall and deftly walked across the maze. When the school bell rang, Ralph's mouth was already stuffed with peanut cheese, and the aunts in the class began to distribute corn. Jean picked Ralph up and put it in his shirt pocket. "I told you not to do that." There was disgust in his voice. Ralph's paws were glued together with peanut cheese, and he couldn't defend himself, which he felt was especially unfair. "Students, I wish we had more time," Miss Ka said.At this point, her students are all munching on their popcorn or scrambling for their own pockets of popcorn.Nobody waits for time and school buses.

"Hey, Malice," said Jean, "how do you bring the boots home?" "Because my mother said you can't watch TV all weekend until you bring the boots home," Malice replied. Ralph struggled free from his claws. Can he get the motorcycle back?still can not?He needs to know. "Ralph, silly mouse," said Brad. "That's because you don't have rats," said Jean angrily, as he thrust his arms into his coat. "You're jealous, that's what it is, to put it bluntly." "Who wants a smelly old mouse?" Brad sneered. "You stink, and so does Ralph the Stupid Mouse."

"Shut your mouth," Jean said. "Looking for a beating, you?" Brad said. Ralph was startled by the sound of the scuffling. He struggled to free his claws, and then squeaked in a low voice: "I! I'm in your pocket! Don't let him hit me!" People hear. But Jean must remember that he covered his pocket with one hand and protected himself with the other. He was pushed, bumped into someone, and fell to the ground. The whole class yelled, "It's a fight! It's a fight!" The crowd gathered, and popcorn was scattered everywhere. "Children," Miss Ka's always gentle voice pierced through the chaos, "Beating someone can't solve the problem, it can only mess things up."

Jean stood up.Ralph shuddered, thankful he wasn't hurt.He peeked out of his shirt pocket furtively. This frightened him, and he saw Jean reach into his coat pocket and pull out a broken helmet and a little red motorcycle broken in half. His precious motorcycle, his only means of transportation - except for the four claws - was destroyed.Ralph went through the darkest hour of his life. "I'll make you pay, Brad," Jean said, as Ralph slid back deep in his pocket. "You broke Ralph's motorcycle." Brad laughed. He could laugh, he wasn't knocked down. "Crazy or something?" he asked. "What do you mean, Ralph's motorcycle?"

"That's enough, children," said Miss Ka. "Come on, Jean, or you won't be able to catch the bus." In the hall, Ralph poked his head out of his pocket and faced Jean. "Now, look at what you did. It's because you didn't give me back the motorcycle. You ruined it." Jean turned to his friend with excitement and humiliation. "I don't care if your motorcycle is bad or not," he told Ralph. You come to school. See, it's all because of my kindness." "What kind of heart," growled Ralph in his small voice, "don't even give me the motorbike. Now you see, it's all broken. Well, well, I've had enough, I'm going from here." With that announcement, Ralph crawled out of his pockets, ran down his jeans, and jumped to the floor, dodging the snow boots and boots as he ran.

"Hey, just watch," Jean called, "don't be trampled on." He turned and drove off. Lalguan dodged his feet until he came to the bottom of the wall to be safe.No one here would step on him, or notice him.As soon as all the kids were gone, he ran toward the library, not even paying attention to the popcorn that had fallen on the floor.Inside, the tattered bookbag he had napped so comfortably in was gone, but a new one was found. He gnawed a hole in the brown paper and crawled into the soft and ready-made stuffing. After such a horrible afternoon, it feels so good now - warm, cozy and comfortable. In the hall, Mr. Coster was sweeping the popcorn with a big broom. His transistor radio was playing a sentimental song about a heartbroken man seeking a lift on a deserted, long road, while coyotes howled in the dark. With Mr Coster gone, the school was a silent, desolate place. The children did not return the next morning.Ralph did not know that there were no schools on Saturdays and Sundays. He had never felt so alone in his life.He stood in the cold, empty hall, screaming as hard as he could, but his voice was too small to stir up any echo. All weekend, he roamed empty halls and classrooms, nibbling absently on whatever food he could find, bang-bah-bah-bah-bah because he missed his motorcycle so much.He wondered if he was going to wander the sober corridors of Evan Jay Snead Elementary School forever. Why don't the kids come back? Ralph thought of the shabby front hall of the old shop, warmed by the crackling fire.He missed the ticking of the old clock that irritated his nerves. He also misses the scene on the TV and the activity in the lobby—the fight between the receptionist and the staff. He missed old Mat, his protector and the peanuts and popcorn from Leap Frog Lounge. He wondered if his plan to get the mouse out of the front room had come to fruition, if Matt was still in the shop. Ralph found himself thinking a little even of his little brothers and sisters and distant relatives. He wondered if the smallest mouse was still unable to stand up and wrapped up in the fringe of the blanket.Ralph also wondered what they would say if they saw him now, cold and alone in the empty school. He also wondered what they would talk about if he and Jean went home without the motorcycle.Maybe say something like: "Hey, hey! Don't let us ride, we deserve it!" Ralph could not stand the ridicule of his fellow countrymen.Never can take it.As he walked slowly back toward his book bag in the library, he heard a dog barking in the distance. The bark reminded Ralph of the coyotes howling. What a miserable world Ralph lived in.
