Chapter 8 Conclusion

The above four lectures, in my intention, just want to explain the entire intellectual history of China based on popular and general viewpoints.But this matter is easier said than done, I only know what I know, talk and play.I always hope that, as I said above, it is definitely not just me who wants to say this alone, but ordinary people in China, even those who are illiterate and uneducated, have been saying this for a long time.Why do people who are generally illiterate and without knowledge keep saying this for a long time?This is the accumulation of culture. It has always been a tradition of thinking. Great thinkers from ancient times to the present have all said this, which has affected ordinary people who are illiterate and have no knowledge.I just want to bring together the traditional thinking above and the popular thinking below.Did I know the traditional thinking?Have I really understood popular thinking?Can I connect these two lines of thought?This is a matter of my own personal academic ability. I have no ability to criticize myself, and I can only leave it to others to criticize.

But if what I said, even if it is successful, the so-called Chinese thought should be compared with the thoughts of other nations and other families outside. What are the similarities and differences?What are the pros and cons?What are the gains and losses?We should absolutely not adopt closed-doorism, self-esteem and arrogance, and sit on the throne.It is believed that Chinese thought has grasped all the truths of the universe and life.On the outside, as far as modern Western Europeans and Americans think, they have religion, science, big capital, and new weapons.Our religion has declined, our science is underdeveloped, we are poor and weak, and we are inferior to others in everything.How can we always be self-respecting and arrogant, sitting on the ground and becoming kings?But I'm still me, the clothes are dirty, I should wash them.Things are dusty and should be wiped.We should also re-understand the accumulated cultural karma and ideological traditions buried deep in our hearts.Scraping and polishing, releasing and increasing beauty, is what we should do.Our mission today is a cultural mission and an ideological mission.Cultural thought is the common cause of the general public. We should understand the society, get close to the public, inherit the tradition, and grasp the reality.We should make a comprehensive plan, we should start from the root, and we should catch up.We must seek understanding, develop, enrich, and improve.Gentlemen, how to see, how to do, please advise.
