A seal is also called a seal.If the seal is well covered, it can fully display the effect of the printed text.If the cover is not good, it is easy to distort the printed text, blur the handwriting, or cover it crookedly or overturned, and even cause the ink pad to stick to the paper surface, breaking the paper. It would be a pity if the cover is damaged on the painted calligraphy and painting up. Stamping requires uniform and full ink pad. Before stamping, put some paper underneath to check the direction of the stamp. If you are not sure of stamping, you can use stamping rules. When covering, use moderate force, which depends on experience.Don't shake the seal from side to side when pressed on the paper, so as not to cover the printed text heavily. When the stamp leaves the paper, it is best to lift it from a corner first. When lifting it, hold the paper with your hands. Do not lift the stamp suddenly, because the ink pad is sticky and sticks to the paper. It will tear the paper surface, and it will also bring up the fluff of the ink pad, making the printed text blurred. After the seal is covered, the ink pad sticking to it should be wiped off for the next use.

Sealing also pays attention to a certain position. The name seal is usually stamped under the signature, or the seal is used instead of the signature.Book collection seals are generally placed on the corners of books. If the seal is stamped on the calligraphy and painting, the content can be more. The seals on calligraphy and painting include name seals, table characters and alias seals, introduction seals, seam seals, collection and appreciation seals, and corner seals. Below the postscript on the screen, two seals are commonly used. One side of the word seal, one side of the name seal, called Lianzhu print.Characters are mostly printed in vermilion, with a lighter red color, and name seals are mostly written in white, with a heavier red color. The two seals are of the same size, or the upper one is smaller and the lower one is larger. For the horizontal title style, one side of the seal is often used, which is also covered under the signature. If one side is insufficient, another side can be added, but not more.Vertical inscriptions, with more words, are also stamped with three or four squares, but the shape, size, font, and content of the stamps must be changed. If the first side is round, the second side can be square or rectangular, and the third side should be a square larger than the first two.Or the first party uses a rectangular one, the second party uses a circular one, and the third party uses a square one. The printing surface should still be from small to large, and so on.This will not only look different, but also won't make people feel top-heavy.The seals with vertical titles should be placed on a straight line, and the distance between each side should be moderate, not too close or too loose. If you are not sure that the cover is straight, you can use a ruler to draw a straight line mark, or use a piece of paper with a straight line and a distance, and place it under the painting to align with the position to be stamped, so that the cover will not be skewed.

The size of the seal under the inscription should match the size of the inscription. If it is too small, it cannot hold the weight, and if it is too large, it is too clumsy. The introductory chapter is generally rectangular or oval, and the square seal is not suitable for the introductory chapter. Most of the content of the first chapter is the alias of the restaurant or verses, idioms, and auspicious words related to the content of the picture. The introductory chapter should be overlaid in the upper corner of the screen. The seam seals are all stamped on the edge of the picture, only half of the printed surface is exposed, or stamped on the junction of the two papers in order to prevent replacement and embezzlement.

There are two types of collection and appreciation seals: official collection (or "imperial collection") and private collection. This kind of seal is stamped on the left, right, bottom and top center of the picture, or the textual research of the rubbings of the rubbings. It is better not to destroy the picture. The famous seven seals used by Xuanhe in the Song Dynasty (namely the imperial book, Ssangyong, Xuanhe, Xuanhe [hehe], Zhenghe, Zhenghe, and the seal of the Neifu Books) and the five seals of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (namely the Sanxitang Jingjian Seal) , Yizisun, Qianlong Yulan Zhibao, Qianlong Appreciation, Shiqu Baoji) are all seals used on the imperial collection of calligraphy and painting, and they all have fixed positions when they are sealed.

Collection and appreciation are printed on a painting, ranging from three or four squares to more than ten or dozens of squares. The longer an ancient painting has been handed down, the more it has passed through the hands of collectors, and the more seals are stamped on the picture. Some famous paintings have as many as 200 collection appreciation stamps.Although it is very helpful for the research of ancient calligraphy and painting, these seals also damage the picture to a certain extent. The corner chapter is also called the corner chapter, and it can also be called the idle chapter. The printed surface is larger than the name stamp, and there are square, rectangular, round, oval, gourd-shaped and other shapes. The position of stamping the corner seal is generally in the empty space of one of the two corners at the bottom of the frame, but it is best to stamp it in the lower corner opposite to the inscription, which echoes the name seal at the inscription, and can also play a role in adjusting the composition of the picture. .There are also stamps with seals on the roots of mountains, rocks and trees in the picture, or in a certain corner of the picture, which mainly depends on the needs of the composition and color of the picture.
