Chapter 9 Section 3 Famous Mountains in Northeast China

The land in the northeast of the motherland is covered with good vegetation, especially the forest vegetation in the Greater Khingan Mountains, the Lesser Khingan Mountains and the Changbai Mountains, which are the main forest distribution areas in my country, adding beauty and elegance to the famous mountains in the Northeast. Mount Baitou, the main peak of Changbai Mountain, is 2,891 meters above sea level and is located on the border between China and North Korea. The famous Baitou Mountain Tianchi is formed by the accumulation of water in the crater. It is like a mirror reflecting the ever-changing clouds and the magical peaks formed by the surrounding volcanoes. From the endless forest sea below the mountain, "Changbai Songtao" comes from time to time.At the north entrance of Tianchi Lake, the clear stream flows straight down, forming a 68-meter-high Changbai Waterfall. The clear water is cold and summer is the best time.Less than one kilometer away from the waterfall, there is a hot spring of 80 ℃, which flows continuously all year round. In the 190,000-hectare Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve, there are not only gorgeous scenery, but also more than 2,200 species of plants and more than 300 species of animals, including the famous Changbai ginseng, Changbai red pine - "beautiful pine", Siberian tiger and sika deer. and rare animals and plants such as black bears. They are the rare wealth left by nature for us.

In the southern section of the Changbai Mountains, there is a thousand mountains that show off the northern country.Qianshan is also known as Jicui Mountain and Qianduolianhua Mountain. As the name suggests, it describes the abundance of mountains and lush vegetation. It is a hill made of granite, and the main peak, Xianrentai, is 708 meters above sea level.Climbing the peak and looking down, thousands of mountains are emerald like surging waves, which is intoxicating.Thousands of mountains are beautiful on the outside and strange on the inside. Under the lush forests and ancient pines, the peculiar granite-shaped landforms form scenery everywhere. As early as the Tang Dynasty, there were religious sites. and the center of Taoism. The temples are not very large in scale, but they are cleverly arranged in various landscape environments, such as Wuliang Temple, Longquan Temple, Da'an Temple, Xiangshan Temple and other scenic spots.

On the east wing of the Qianshan Mountains, there is a Phoenix Mountain known as a famous mountain in eastern Liaodong, located in Fengcheng County. The main peak, Jianyan Peak, is 836.4 meters above sea level. It is named because there are huge stones confronting each other to form a circular hole, which looks like a sharp arrow piercing a hole.Fenghuang Mountain is a granite mountain with well-developed vertical joints. Therefore, the peaks are sharp and the ridges are sharp.Looking at Fengshan Mountain from a distance, you can see abrupt rocks, and climbing into the mountain will lead to winding peaks, and there are scenery everywhere. The vegetation on the mountain is good, especially ancient pine. There are many cultural relics, including Tang Dynasty city fortresses, Ming and Qing temples, and cliff stone carvings.

Surrounded by the Greater Khingan Mountains and the Lesser Khingan Mountains, there is the most typical volcanic landform scenic spot in my country. "Fifty miles to the northeast of the city, there is a water swing, with a circumference of 30 miles. During June and July, the fifty-ninth year of Kangxi, suddenly fireworks shot up into the sky. The sound was like thunder, and it continued day and night. It was heard for fifty or sixty miles. Those who flew out were all Black stones, sulfur, and the like, after years of continuous development, have become a mountain with a city wall, and the heat is more than 30 miles away. You can only climb the distant mountain to see..." This is the sixty years of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1721 A.D.) when Wu Zhenchen lived. A narration in "Ninggu Pagoda Records".These records reflect the scene of the eruption of Laoheishan and Huoshaoshan volcanoes more than 260 years ago.According to research by geologists, the other 12 volcanoes in Wudalianchi were all formed by continuous eruptions over the past 2.5 million years.

When the volcano erupted, the magma overflow cut the Bailong River into five sections and formed five volcanic barrier lakes, so it is called Wudalianchi.Wudalianchi has various volcanic landform wonders, such as craters, volcanic cones, lava platforms, stone seas, stone dragons, turning stones, jet nozzles, etc. It is a typical natural volcano museum with both ornamental value and scientific research value.Wudalianchi is also famous both at home and abroad for its mineral water, a by-product of volcanic activity, which can be used for drinking, bathing and healing. It is called "holy water" by the locals.

At the southeast end of Daxing'an Mountains, on the corridor to the west of Liaoning, stands a famous mountain with a long history - Yiwulu Mountain in Beizhen. The main peak of Yiwulu Mountain, Wanghai Mountain, is 866.6 meters above sea level. Although it is not high, it stands on the Liaohe Plain, looking majestic at the northeast land and the vast Bohai Sea. The "five towns" correspond to the five mountains, and their "status" is very high. While offering sacrifices to the Five Mountains, the emperors of all dynasties often sent ministers to offer sacrifices to the Five Towns.Since the five towns are not as famous as the five mountains, they are little known, so they tend to be neglected. The five towns include East Town Yishan (Shandong), South Town Kuaiji Mountain (Zhejiang), West Town Wushan (Shaanxi), Zhongzhen Huoshan (Shanxi) and North Town Yiwulu Mountain.Among the five towns, only Beizhen became an important town. The reason is that the Liao Dynasty regarded Yiwulu Mountain as the birthplace and spiritual holy place. The emperors of the Qing Dynasty had to go back to the Northeast to worship their ancestors every year, and Beizhen was a must-pass. They had to visit and sacrifice along the way, and left many imperial steles. Therefore, Beizhen Temple is also the largest and best-preserved temple among the five towns. .The beauty of Yiwulu Mountain is especially won by its strange stones, which are characterized by their large size. The mountains and ridges are continuous, and the stone peaks stand in forests. The peaks and peaks are all stacked with strange stones, like arrows and halberds, like city battlements, standing in various poses and with different expressions, facing the sky.The famous scenic spot, the big stone shed, is also a huge rock block slanting like a eaves. It is a natural shed with clear springs on the roof and towering ancient trees under the eaves.Yiwulu Mountain has strange and ancient rocks, green pines like the sea, and emerald green among the rocks and ravines, which makes this ancient famous mountain more vigorous.
