Chapter 102 Tao Zhen

Tao Zhen, also known as "Tao Zhen", is a rap art accompanied by pipa and drums. It originated in the countryside of the Song Dynasty, and most of them did not enter the Goulan, and were performed by Luqi people (mostly blind artists) in the streets, wilderness and even in the countryside. "West Lake Old Man's Fanshenglu" records that when Lu Qiren performed in a spacious place in Lin'an, he said: "Singing Yaci, only cites children; listening to Taozhen, it is all villagers." It can be seen that its performance is relatively popular. In the Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties, Tao Zhen developed again. The biggest difference is that in the Song Dynasty, it was accompanied by drums, while in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was accompanied by pipa.Ming Tian Rucheng's "West Lake Tour Zhiyu" Volume 20 said: "Hangzhou men and women who are blind often learn the pipa, sing ancient and modern novels, commentary, in order to find food and clothing, which is called 'Tao Zhen'." Lu You has a song "Small Boat Tour Near the Village" Poetry: "In Zhaojiazhuang, the ancient willow in the setting sun, the blind old man who bears the drum is working. Who cares about right and wrong after death, and the whole village hears about Cai Zhonglang." It describes the situation of farmers in Shanyin in the Song Dynasty who heard about Tao Zhen.
