Chapter 22 Voice of the Ancient Bards

come here happy young man look at the unfolding dawn The symbol of the new birth of truth Doubt gone and the shadow of reason and ignorant arguments and cunning teasing stupidity is an endless way Tangled roots bar her way how many people trip over there They stumbled all night on the bones Still think they know all they want to know They still need guidance but are good teachers Youth of delight come hither, And see the opening morn: Image of truth new born. Doubt is fled & clouds of reason, Dark disputes & artful teasing. Folly is an endless maze. Tangled roots perplex her ways,

How many have fallen there! They stumble all night over bones of the dead, And feel they know not what but care: And wish to lead others when they should be led.
