Chapter 24 The relationship between the air mechanism and the air inside the human body

Meditation and Immortality 南怀瑾 823Words 2018-03-20
Ordinary people who learn to meditate and practice Taoism can easily connect the breath of breath and the breath of air into one. Therefore, it is considered that the air is the center of the air mechanism inside the body.In fact, the relationship between breathing and air is just the adjusting function of the human respiratory organ (lung). From the point of view of practicing meditation, it only belongs to the effect of reaching above the diaphragm. As for the internal qi mechanism of the human body, it is not only connected with the function of breathing. In other words, humans, like animals, absorb air through the respiratory organs, just like when people need to light a fire, they must first use the fuel to start the fire. The original fuel energy. The internal Qi mechanism in the human body is like a primitive treasure. It is inherent with life and always has potential endless functions. However, without reasonable cultivation, this hidden life energy will disappear with old age and death, and will never be able to function .

The practice of Hinayana meditation in the Buddhist school divides the breathing air and the potential internal air mechanism of the human body into three steps and three states. This is a relatively correct concept. (1) It is "wind".This refers to the usual function between the air and the respiratory organs. In other words, ordinary people maintain their life by the function of breathing air. This is the condition of "wind". (2) It is "Qi".It is the breathing function of ordinary people. After the exercise of meditation method, the breathing is relatively light, clear and slow.

(3) It is "interest".After a high degree of meditation practice, the breathing energy reaches a slight and almost suffocated state. At that time, the closing function of the respiratory organs is equal to the cessation of use. (But the breathing of other parts of the body has not completely stopped.) Between the lower abdomen and the lower Dantian.Without relying on the reciprocating action of the respiratory organs, a phenomenon of opening and closing occurs naturally, which is "breathing".Later, the Dan Taoists of Taoism also called it "fetal breath".Even some alchemy practices specifically advocate that "heart and breath interdependence" is the basis of the supreme alchemy. In fact, this kind of saying is all after the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the practice of Hinayana meditation in Buddhism, which was adopted by the Tiantai sect's practice of "stopping and contemplation", and gradually became popular and changed, and merged with each other.Because before the Sui and Tang Dynasties, Taoist practice also paid great attention to qi refining, but there was really no theory of "heart-breath interdependence" and "fetal breath". But after all, it is all fabricated by later generations, and it is not enough to be trusted. What we are discussing now is not in favor of Buddhism and dismissing Taoism. It is just telling some honest facts from the development process of human culture and historical era.If you want to research the practice methods of Buddhism and Taoism, you really have the feeling of "carving the boat and seeking the sword", and the dead are hard to make!
