Basic Beliefs of a Buddhist 南怀瑾 5064Words 2018-03-20
The method of reciting the four-line gatha - soft repair method, you are asked to pay attention to the Huayan alphabet, and do not lose your breath when singing, and the sound of the flower tune is not allowed. Now you can listen to Master Wang Fengqiao sing the four-line gatha in the singing method of Beijing opera, mainly to let you understand what is a statement, the principle of soft practice, and how to sing in a peaceful, solemn and pure state. (Teacher Wang sang a Pingju drama about beating drums and scolding Cao in Romance of the Three Kingdoms) The Sanskrit singing of Buddhism is completely evolved from Kunqu Opera. As for the Sanskrit singing of Yushan in ancient times, is it the same sound?Very problematic. If you want to really study the true pure Sanskrit singing of Buddhism, you must understand Beijing opera, Kunqu opera, Nanguan, etc., and you must understand the statement, and then create an absolute purity. When there is such a state, then the chanting of this soft cultivation method will have immeasurable merit. Please study it carefully, and don’t underestimate the convenient power of this soft cultivation method. , turn around and listen to your own voice, and reach the state of "entering a place of exile", and then go on to "return to hear the self-nature, and the nature becomes the supreme way". Difficult? You can realize the Tao just by relying on the Quan Yin Method, why do I have to keep an eye on you all the time even when I chant? The reason is here.

People in the world can speak, but few have a good voice. You can see that many people speak in a stuttering manner, or they are annoying when they speak, but some people speak very comfortably, or very Solemn, or very powerful, these are many lives, and the oral karma has been cultivated. Now Mr. Li Chuanhong will also sing a song! (Mr. Li therefore uses singing love songs as his practice method. Teacher said: Samantabhadra Bodhisattva is more affectionate than you, as long as you sing your love songs with a respectful heart, you will definitely have merit. Don’t worry, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva will not blame you of.

Mr. Li sang a piece called "Pursuing". ) It is meaningful for him to sing this song. He wants everyone to pursue the eternal light. Where is the eternal light we want to pursue? Therefore, everyone should carefully study the verses of Samantabhadra's vows, how to find and sing the purest Sanskrit sound, "If you use this heart to learn the Tao, it will be so difficult to become a Buddha." What you need to pay attention to, let's continue to talk about it now. Verses of scriptures. The vow of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva is the first step that must be taken to learn Buddhism. It is said to be the first step, but in fact it is really achieved, and one can reach the ultimate place of Buddhism.Where is Puxian?Just show up in your lives, see if your eyes reveal the radiance of compassion, joy and giving, and see if your behavior always exudes a solemn and serene atmosphere. Cleanliness makes you a bit of Samantabhadra. Moreover, the so-called purity refers to the purity of the mind even when the thoughts are pure. This is the realm of the Buddha. The three karmas of body, speech and mind are pure, all behaviors are pure, and all the dust and dust of the ten dharma realms are all pure.

The Western Paradise of Ultimate Bliss is accomplished by the pure vows and actions of Amitabha, Avalokitesvara, and Shizhi, and other great Bodhisattvas. Our Saha world is accomplished by the karma of our physical and mental behaviors. There are different phenomena such as mountains, plains, rivers and seas, and valleys. Teacher Wu once told me this afternoon that he envied everyone to have this blessing, and An Ran worked hard in the meditation hall here. This is due to various karma and opportunities in the world situation, leaving this "pure land", everyone must cherish it well, and make good use of the seasons and karma to study hard.In addition, this meditation hall is also a Buddhist temple, which is inseparable from the principle of harmony and harmony. One of the great causes and conditions is Master Congzhi's vow to do something for Buddhism, which has remained unchanged for several years. His thought is a precious universal Virtuous conduct also constitutes this "Chan Tang Temple".Therefore, it is by no means false to say that one thought is one moment.

In addition, when it comes to studying Buddhism and doing good deeds, one needs to be guided by wisdom. This is what I emphasize in every speech. Wisdom is prajna, and prajna is the mother of all Buddhas. The achievement of learning Buddhism is the achievement of wisdom. There is a big difference in wisdom when done separately, and of course the results are also very different.Samantabhadra said it was universal, what is it? --wisdom.This has already been discussed a lot, so I won't repeat it.The above simply explained "May the body, speech and mind be always pure, and all the actions will be restored. Such wisdom is called Samantabhadra, and may I be equal to them", and then read the following:

(Students chant in the same way) "I am doing everything for the sake of purifying and pursing Samantabhadra, Manjusri and Samantabhadra are all great vows." In Buddhism, Manjusri and Samantabhadra are two equally wonderful Bodhisattvas with two enlightenments. Manjusri represents wisdom and is the teacher of the seven Buddhas. The teacher, while Samantabhadra symbolizes the practice of wisdom.Samantabhadra Bodhisattva has the ten vows that we are reciting now in the Huayan Sutra, and Manjusri Bodhisattva also has the noble and great ten vows in the "Great Treasure Sutra" and "Mahayana Yoga Vajra Nature Hai Manjushri Thousand Arms Thousand Bowls Great Teaching King Sutra". Make a wish.If you want to lay the foundation of the Mahayana way -- Samantabhadra's fulfillment of vows, you must learn the wisdom of prajna. This requires the integration of the profound and wonderful methods of Samantabhadra and Manjusri Bodhisattvas.

"There will be nothing left in his career, and he will never be tired in the future." The word "Bi" in the previous sentence refers to Manjusri and Samantabhadra. To achieve ultimate success in learning Buddhism, you must first pay homage to the Buddha and help the world with their two predecessors. Lisheng’s career has been successfully completed, and the career of Manjushri and Samantabhadra has been completed, that is, one’s own practice in Buddhism and Taoism has been completed. To put it simply, whether it is from the beginning or the end, Manjusri and Samantabhadra are ourselves, and the initiation of vows The contemplation of wisdom and wisdom are indispensable.

When everyone comes here, from the very beginning, I hope that everyone will start from Samantabhadra practice, so I often say half-jokingly: I am only afraid that you will not become a Buddha, but I am not afraid that you will not be able to save sentient beings. Our only mission now is to become a Buddha and save sentient beings. Since we become a monk and learn Buddhism, this ambition is our original vow. Why don’t we thoroughly carry it out and realize it to the end?Otherwise, if you recognize your own motives and intentions, and know that your heart is not here, you can simply pack your bags and go home to sleep, watch TV, and stop deceiving yourself and others, that is also very good.Maybe you will say: I am already cultivating and doing these things! So, are you 100% doing your best?Do you sometimes feel tired? The standard of learning Buddhism is to achieve "exhaustive" and "perseverance without fatigue", no matter how big or small, everything is complete and complete, and there is no omission; the three worlds are equal, the infinite future is like the present, and never tires. There is an end to the void, and I wish to be infinite. That is to say, with one firm thought, for everlasting, eternal vows, life after life betting on body, mind and life without reservation. Only in this way are the true practitioners who pursue the vows of Samantabhadra, the true Samantabhadra. Please sing the next four lines:

(Students chant in the same way) The so-called practice is actually to completely correct one's mind, nature and behavior, from the inside to the outside, to check and improve in every detail. This is the life theme that a practitioner will never change until death, and must be pursued forever Achieved career in life. The Dharma is boundless, and the career of Buddhist practitioners is also boundless. Everyone wants to do some good deeds, but they must know that good deeds are endless. If you usually do a little, or even a lot, you will think that you have accumulated a lot of good deeds, which is incredible.Such a thought would seem petty.

The most precious thing for Buddhists is that their minds are infinitely broad, and they can accommodate all things in the world. They always start from benefiting others. Even if they have done good deeds for a lifetime, this is what should be done. What's the big deal?People live to be good for others. Are you born to do bad things and be annoying?Or do you come to be a fool, doing nothing, doing nothing to benefit others? Please keep in mind: "What I practice is immeasurable", practice is immeasurable practice, this is the career of life for thousands of years, what you want to achieve is "obtaining immeasurable merits and virtues", the so-called "obtaining immeasurable merits and virtues", everyone Pay special attention not to misunderstand the meaning. The key point is the word "immeasurable". Merit is infinite, unlimited, and unattached. Some people like to ask me: "Have you done a lot of merit?" I said: "I have no merit. "The merit is immeasurable, how can there be any merit? If there is merit, it is limited, which does not conform to the true meaning of merit in Buddhism.

There is also the meaning of immeasurable merit and virtue, which also includes the meaning of no bias. Buddhism is equal to the objects of good deeds. It does not benefit you because you treat me badly, and does not benefit you because you have a good relationship with me. What the heart has at its root is just a group of vows that completely benefit all sentient beings. Sometimes, for the convenience of combining light and dust and saving lives, it can also naturally show the differences of closeness, likes and dislikes. As long as you are truly compassionate, willing to sacrifice, altruistic in every way, and cooperate with wisdom and expediency, then praising and loving others is the way, cursing and beating others is also the way, and doing good and evil is the way. When a child makes a mistake, the parents need to beat the child depending on the cause and condition. Do you think the parents are merciful or not?The students are ignorant, and the teacher scolds the students according to the principles of education. Do you think what the teacher did is evil?Beating and scolding is not impossible, but it must be controlled wisely. If you have evil thoughts and hatred when beating and scolding, or do it with evil thoughts and hatred at all, it will run counter to love.In addition, if this guy is cute, so I treat him well in everything and try to help him, this is not true compassion, because the starting point lies in one's own preferences. On the surface, it is for others, but in fact it is for oneself, or selfishness. It cannot be called the Bodhisattva way. The way of Bodhisattva is completely unconditional. If you treat yourself well, you will treat you well. This is the nature of life, and it is justified without any preconditions. As soon as the good deeds are done, they will pass away and be forgotten. It’s okay. If you still keep in mind “I have given him benefits” and never forget them, then you will really be troubled by yourself, revealing your selfish tail, and you will no longer be able to “live in the immeasurable deeds” How can we really "reach all supernatural powers" and prove to the limitless and boundless great supernatural power realm of inviting Buddhas and Bodhisattvas for the third time? When it comes to supernatural powers, I have already explained a little bit about the "Supernatural Powers of Speed, Speed and Pervasiveness".Don't mistakenly think that clairvoyance, ears with the wind, being able to hear things far away, or knowing the cause and effect of past lives, sitting quietly and flying, these are supernatural powers, then the loss outweighs the gain. The superpowers that everyone is most curious about now are just small supernatural powers. The real great supernatural powers must be on par with Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Moreover, a person can have less selfishness and desires, cook and carry firewood or do other things every day, and serve others. This is the invaluable supernatural power. To be honest, life itself is a great treasure of supernatural powers, heartbeat is supernatural powers, breathing is supernatural powers, raising eyebrows and blinking eyes are all supernatural powers.Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have great supernatural powers and wisdom, and all sentient beings also have great supernatural powers and wisdom. The purpose of studying Buddhism is to investigate the ultimate mysteries of the great supernatural powers of life, make them clear and thorough, and not be confused by any supernatural powers of life. Tired, isn't that too worthless? Please recite the following four lines with reverence: (Students chant in the same way) Just now we mentioned that the two Bodhisattvas, Manjushri and Samantabhadra, should practice together in one body. The supreme wisdom of Manjushri is naturally contained in the vows of Samantabhadra, and the supreme wisdom of Manjushri also naturally contains compassion, happiness and giving. Samantabhadra's wish. What is Bodhisattva - Bodhisattva?Bodhi is enlightenment, and Satyu is sentient beings, which means awakening sentient beings in Chinese.Bodhisattvas who are fully enlightened are the most affectionate. Passion is the heart of Buddha. It is not a bad thing to be merciful to all things!Even lust is not necessarily a bad thing.Do you want to be emperor?Although Wu Zetian was a woman, she became one.You don't even want to be an emperor, do you still want to become a Buddha? The difference between the desire to become a Buddha and the desire to be an emperor is incalculable. It doesn't matter if you have too many desires, as long as you can turn around and use it for the cause of benefiting the common people in the world, can everyone do it?Only those who can do it well are qualified to study Buddhism. If not, if you want to learn Buddhism only for the safety of your family, success in your career, or good health, long life, hearing and eyesight, no toothache, and sleep at night, then it is simply too petty, mother-in-law begging for these little things Xiaoli, it's really not interesting. To be a man, to be a man, to learn Buddhism is to learn Manjusri and Samantabhadra. From the very beginning, you will be magnanimous, magnificent, make great vows and actions, and generate great wisdom. In everything, the interests of others are the most important, and always be good for others; Clear and clear, free and easy, free and easy, not dependent, not only insight into the root and the bottom of things, knowing how to deal with them, but also decisive and able to do it, this is "Manjusri is brave and wise, and universal virtuous wisdom is also the same." Wisdom has the characteristic of being bright and sharp, clear and straightforward, so the Buddha said "Vajra Prajna Paramita".For example, how to learn Buddhism? ——It can be lifted, and it can be put down. This is Vajra Prajna, "Manjushri Bravery and Wisdom".Those who study Buddhism can say these two sentences, but which one can do it?It’s like your legs are numb and swollen after being crossed for so long. It’s very uncomfortable. If you want to let go, it won’t be numb or swollen, okay?Or numb to numb, bloated to bloated, I just don’t care, can I?Bring it up when you say it, let it go when you say it, and put it down at will. This is a man, a hero, and the true nature of a Buddhist student. Where do you think Buddhism is?Buddha Dharma is in our daily life, everything is ready-made, dealing with people and doing things, everything is in line with compassion, happiness and giving. When encountering a situation, you will naturally have no attachment or support. Bring happiness to every corner of the world.Don't be as soon as you come into contact with Buddhism, the more you learn, the more you can't let it go, the more you learn, the more you can't lift it up, feel shy, lack confidence, say something like: Alas!I can't, I haven't fixed it yet, I'll come back when I fix it.By the time you fix it, I'm already finished. I need you to save me now and give me a helping hand.can you do it "Writer masters are very powerful, brave and wise." Wisdom requires courage and courage, but "bravery" is not tyrannical, not barbaric. You say: I have not eaten or slept for three days and three nights. I have to sit here. This kind of stupidity is a bit cute, but it is reckless. Without wisdom and cooperation, it is not a solution. Our teacher, Shakyamuni Buddha, saw clearly how to find the way out of life, resolutely abandoned the throne and resigned, and practiced diligently as a monk. This is a kind of brave wisdom that is not born in the world.Do we have the courage to be diligent in our daily work? For example, someone lost ten yuan and searched for it for three days, and even woke up in his dreams at night, and someone was scolded casually, and it was unforgettable for the rest of his life. Once when I was a child, my mother was cooking, and when she saw that the soy sauce was gone, she asked me to scoop up a bowl from a nearby store.I went to buy soy sauce for the first time, and I felt very proud. After scooping up the soy sauce, I was afraid that it would spill, so I looked at the bowl in my hand very carefully while walking, but the more I looked at it, the more I shook it, the more I looked at it, halfway, The bowl was held too tightly, and with a bang, the whole bowl of soy sauce was knocked over, causing neighbors on the street to point and laugh at me for not being able to handle a bowl of soy sauce. But I didn't lower my head, and I didn't even look at the soy sauce on the ground. I ran home again, took another bowl and scooped it up again. This time I understand, when the soy sauce was served, I didn’t even look at it, and I didn’t even care about it, and I walked home quickly all the way, that’s how things are, the more you care about it, the more artificial it is, the more difficult it is to be stable , the more unbalanced, for this point, people who have practiced martial arts should be able to understand the samadhi, and the same is true for meditation. Later, someone asked me: "You knocked out the bowl, why don't you lower your head or look at it?" What about it?" I said, "It's already dropped on the ground, so why go to see it?" Normally, if we knock over a bottle of soy sauce, we would have to look at it for a long time, feeling sorry for it, and then pick up the bottle and touch it. Touching soy sauce, but afraid of getting your hands dirty, and rubbing it on your body, the oil stains stained your clothes instead, and you were so angry that you cursed damn it in your heart and mouth.Isn't that stupid? If it is broken, it will be broken, staring at it and complaining about it, why bother! "I will turn to all the roots of goodness today, and follow him to practice constantly." The meaning of these two sentences is very clear, so I won't talk about it any more. However, in addition to the previous explanations, there is also a meaning of turning back to reflect on oneself.Introspection is a manifestation of wisdom, and deep and clear introspection is a prerequisite for the generation of great wisdom. It is easy for a person to learn to be bad and demean oneself, but it is quite difficult to cultivate good words and deeds. Bad karma is easy to come by, but good results are hard to come by. professional. Therefore, the achievement of good roots must be guided by wisdom and rely on Prajna Zhengguan, which has to be in line with Manjusri and Samantabhadra. Please gather your body and mind, reverently and focus, and then recite the next eight lines: (Students chant in the same way)
