How to practice Buddhism 南怀瑾 10591Words 2018-03-20
content summary. Only wish. Three thousand good deeds, three thousand merits. Open your heart. Compassion of love and compassion of wisdom. Shake your mind. How to change temperament. Four kinds of grace and three times of suffering. Check and check. Do it again and again. Today's class is the last time. In this lecture, the principles advertised are insight, practice, and fulfillment of vows.Among them, more emphasis is placed on the cultivation of certification and kung fu, and only one or two sentences are briefly mentioned in making vows. In fact, all of us who study Buddhism and practice Taoism want to attain fruition. But why are there so many people who learn it, but so few people who can really prove it?The main reason is that the fulfillment of the vows is not enough, not that the effort is not enough.

Today, speaking from the standpoint of fulfilling vows, if there is no fulfillment of vows, the view will not be thorough; without genuine fulfillment of vows, there will be no progress in practice. But what we are most likely to overlook is the aspect of fulfillment of vows, so everyone will feel that they are not on the road when they work hard. Now let’s talk about the integration of three things: view, attainment, and fulfillment of vows. For example, there is a very obvious mentality. Why do many people in the world study Buddhism and Taoism?Even if you don’t follow the path of studying Buddhism and seeking Tao, you still need another religious belief, and even those who don’t have religious beliefs have to find another thing to rely on.Basically, the subconscious is seeking something, just like doing business, wanting to achieve a very large result at the least cost.

It is equivalent to those who seek the blessing of the Bodhisattva, a few dozen dollars for bananas, dozens of dollars for cakes, a few dollars for incense, at most a hundred dollars. When they arrived at the temple, they burned incense, kowtowed, and worshiped, wanting to be good to their husbands and children, to be promoted and to get rich. After everything was done, they burned the incense, and finally took the bananas back to eat, and ate them slowly. How terrible is this kind of praying psychology! It’s as if a person has made a mistake, and when he kneels there and prays, he has confessed.

What kind of psychology is this?We have to think about it ourselves. As for those of us who practice, we must think in our hearts, I absolutely do not have such a mentality. But in my opinion, they are all the same, just in different ways.Although I don't have this kind of mentality, I still want to become enlightened through meditation. Although I don't ask for bananas, I also ask for legs. Everyone wants to see their nature through meditation, become a Buddha and become a Taoist, and what they like most is kung fu and realm. As long as I hear that someone has Taoism and kung fu, I will pursue it anyway out of curiosity. As for the definition of Dao and Kung Fu, I don't know what it is. This is unclear. Why can't I see clearly?Strictly pursued, it means that the wish is wrong.

The basics of Buddhism are based on the six paths of reincarnation and the cause and effect of the third life, but according to my decades of experience, few people who study Buddhism and Taoism really believe in the six paths of reincarnation, and no one believes in the cause and effect of the third life, at least not absolutely. .This is not a superstition, at least no one has figured it out theoretically, let alone verified it in fact. These are all places worthy of our reflection. Because you don’t believe in reincarnation in the six realms and karma in the third life, whether you study Zen, Tantric Buddhism, or Pure Land, it’s fundamentally wrong. It’s like trying to build a house on the beach, which is impossible.

For example, when we learn to meditate, we want to be empty when we sit up, and then we all talk about academic principles there, empty!Yes, I have! Wisdom! These principles of Buddhism are discussed clearly and logically, but they do not study the behavior of the mind. Why is it required to be free? What's behind the void?Suppose there is a vacuum, what would it look like? These teachings have all been said, but we have not studied them. Therefore, even if some people have good kungfu and good Qi channels, it is useless. How many people say that their eight meridians and seven chakras have been opened up.So what if you get through? You said that I can not die if my energy channels are opened, and there is no one who has unblocked energy channels. You said that people with unblocked Qi channels can die better, and some people with unopened Qi channels can die quite well. So, what is the purpose of the so-called Qimai opening up?We didn't think about it. Anyway, people say that Qimai Tong is called Qimai Tong.

Another example is supernatural powers, so what about supernatural powers? What about the prophet? How many people who claimed to have magical powers died of high blood pressure and diabetes. Have we thought about it carefully, what is the purpose of learning Buddhism and practicing? It's all talk, it's unrealistic. The real practice, in the end, is a path: fulfilling vows. What is making a wish?It is to correct one's own psychological behavior. Our thoughts and thoughts are actions that have not been uttered, and all actions are the development of thoughts. We want to seek emptiness, which is to pursue a metaphysical problem, to trace the root of thought. It is almost impossible to truly achieve emptiness in behavior and thought.Suppose someone achieves complete emptiness of thought and becomes ignorant, so why bother to practice Taoism? So the truth of emptiness is not like this.

Everyone sat up and tried desperately to seek emptiness. Basically, there was one biggest mistake. They didn't understand the principle of emptiness at all. That’s why I asked everyone to read Zhao Lun last time. This book was written by Master Seng Zhao, the great disciple of Master Kumarajiva.Of course, this book is not easy to read. It is a collection of the essence of Buddhism and the thoughts of Laozi, Zhuangzi, Confucius and Mencius. For example, it writes "The Theory of Prajna Ignorance", we seek the achievement of the great wisdom of Prajna every day, he said that wisdom reaching the highest point is no wisdom. It is equivalent to the "no wisdom and no gain" mentioned in the Heart Sutra. It is also said that "things do not move", things have no coming and going, no movement and no stillness, no past and no future, only the present moment. And said:

"Theory of No Vacuum", emptiness is not emptiness, these metaphysical emptiness and behavior are the only reason that should be studied more. Why can't we improve when we do kung fu and meditate?Everyone must think that the method is wrong, desperately looking for a master to find a way, no!Don't be deceived by yourself. Why can't kung fu improve? Why can't it be determined? It is because the mind has not changed. If the mental behavior does not change at all, the kung fu will not improve, and the view will not be perfect. In terms of Chinese culture, whether it is Confucianism or Taoism, the views are consistent and the same.

For example, people who study Taoism say that there are five types of immortality after learning Taoism (such as the 50% Taoism in Buddhism), ghost immortals, human immortals, earth immortals, heavenly immortals, and immortals (also called Da Luo Jinxian, which is equivalent to a great arhat).Taoism believes that "only cultivating fate and not cultivating nature is the first disease of practice."It is the number one problem in practice to just train the energy channels and work on the body, but think that this is the way.It is also said that "only cultivating the ancestral nature and not cultivating alchemy, it is difficult for the ghosts to become holy after ten thousand eons." Buddhists only talk about theories, but do not grasp the root of life, and they will not be able to realize the realm of saints after ten thousand eons.No matter how you say it, there is a basic principle, that is, if you want to become an immortal, you need to cultivate countless merits and virtues and do countless good deeds.

What are good deeds?According to Taoist standards, when a person is in critical condition and on the verge of death, it is only a good deed to rescue him and bring him back to life.Taking this as the standard, one must complete three thousand good deeds and thousands of merits to qualify as a cultivator. It is the same with other Confucian schools and Buddhist schools. Buddhist schools require us to change our minds and our inner thoughts and behaviors. But as far as I know, everyone's mental behavior has not wavered in the slightest, which is terrible. Why can't it be proved? It is the knot in my heart that has not been opened, and the knot caused by eighty-eight knots is deeply rooted. People who study Buddhism have a basic problem, and everyone should reflect on it.First of all, because of studying Buddhism, we first look at the world as empty, so we first seek renunciation and leave it alone.Because if you jump out and don’t care about it, you can’t do it with compassion. We keep talking about compassion, and check our minds to see how much compassion has been achieved? This is a very, very serious problem. Second, greed, hatred, ignorance, slow doubt, how much have we eliminated? For example, there is an example, the better we cultivate, the more tempered we become, why?You are sitting comfortably while meditating, and if someone disturbs you, are you still angry? Is this psychological effect the opposite of compassion? There are also people who have done a good job in kung fu, although the state of tranquility is good, after sitting down, all behaviors are completely opposite to the state of tranquility. The theory is also very correct, and the practice is completely opposite. Therefore, Buddhism requires us to start with the precepts. The Hinayana precepts are only negative, and only prevent mistakes in our own behavior. This is the basic principle of the Hinayana precepts.Mahayana Bodhisattvas should actively cultivate the roots of goodness, this is the basis of Mahayana Bodhisattva precepts. But we have not even done the negative, let alone the positive. Everyone should pay attention, whether you are a monk or a monk, you should pay attention to the yoga ground among the sravaka grounds discussed by the yogi, which includes all the basic theories of red, white, flower, and yellow teachings of Tantric Buddhism, and the practice of Qimai. , The principles of meditation and meditation have also been told to us, and this is mentioned by the way. For example, we know that to learn the sound and hearing, we must learn the eight precepts. One of the precepts says: "Novices are not allowed to sit on high beds."Why?The tall wide bed is the upper seat and the upper position. Why can't novice sit?It is to cultivate the virtue of humility first, to tell you not to be self-arrogant everywhere, selfish and self-seeking at every turn, and to look amazing when sitting on it, that is to teach us to learn to be humble. After reading this precept, whether you are a monk at home or not, first reflect on whether you are humble, have you achieved humility? As far as I know, anyone who has studied Buddhism or believed in any religion is more arrogant than anyone else in the world.Thinking that others do not believe, is a devil, and considers himself a saint. We also suffer from this problem when we study Buddhism, but we just change the term and feel: Hey!Very poor, hell seed! The same reason, unwilling to be humble. Especially for those who have a little kung fu, as long as they learn Buddhism and meditate for three days, and then "the sky and the world, I am the only one", no one else can do it.Take a sage's size to measure others, and this size is determined by yourself, as short as your vision says.People under its size are of course not saints, but they never measure how long or how big they are, and never reflect themselves, which is the most terrible thing. What should I do with this mentality? So why not prove it?Why can't it be determined? It is this mental behavior, greed, hatred, ignorance, slowness and suspicion, which has not been transformed at all. It is very scary, and it is very serious when I reflect on it. I want to emphasize again and again, that there is no attainment of attainment in cultivating the Dao, and the inability to attain emptiness means that mental behavior cannot be transformed by itself. So when I sit up, I only grasp the emptiness caused by the realm of consciousness, thinking that it is the Dao. A classmate gave a report today. Yesterday, when he was meditating the best, he suddenly found his hand stretched out to scratch his face.At that time, he thought, strange, why didn't he know that his hands were scratching his face just a second ago?Hard work and good use!At that time, he felt a little sad and confessed his innocence.Missed, I did it myself, I don’t know. There is also the retribution of no record. If you say you have no intention, what you will get in the future will also be the result of no record. For example, sometimes we are hit by people for no reason, that is the retribution of no memory. This classmate continued to meditate, but later found himself scratching his face. He said that this is called "ignorance" and lost his mind. However, this is only knowing one thing and not knowing the other. The idea of empty talk is only the minimum and the most preliminary point. A second, an instant, can play many roles. So when we really calm down, the six sense organs are used at the same time, and when all the predestined relationship comes together, if we can know all the predestined relationships, then it is what the Sixth Patriarch said: "When the self-nature can produce all dharmas." just work. When you are quiet and focused, you can still scratch the itch with your hands, clench your teeth, and tap your feet twice at the same time. Itching is not a thought." You have to know that the instinctive reaction is thought, which is the thought of Alaya consciousness. Therefore, many people meditate and practice the Tao, and encounter many demon realms. In fact, these demons are all created by themselves in this life. Not only that, many obsessed people subconsciously like to play with this thing. In other words, they have not transformed their xinxing at all. Therefore, I often tell my classmates: Among the sixty-four hexagrams of the Yijing, none of the hexagrams is all good, and there is no one hexagram that is all bad. Gua.Therefore, Buddhism tells us to learn emptiness, and the first thing in the precepts is to be humble. How many people have done it?Reflect on yourself, who did it. Only when we are truly humble can we truly achieve the compassion of a Bodhisattva.Taoist Laozi said: "I have three treasures: compassion, frugality, and not daring to be the first in the world." Not daring to be the first in the world is "modesty".The same is true of the Buddhist school. To what extent is the Buddhist school humble?Humility to the point of "no self", humility to the extreme is no self. So we just want to meditate to achieve emptiness, but we cannot achieve emptiness in terms of xinxing, because we sit there and guard the emptiness, it is "I" to guard the emptiness, and we have not achieved the emptiness without self. If there is no self, why seek emptiness Woolen cloth? It would be empty without me. Therefore, in terms of performing aspirations, "doing" is the true view. If you can't do it, the view is useless. Only when you do this can you talk about true compassion, because compassion is selflessness. In fact, we generally say that compassion belongs to "emotion", not "wisdom".The compassion of Mahayana Buddhism is wisdom and the compassion of Prajna. With its true selflessness, can it be truly compassionate. To say that I want to be merciful to you is to fall into the lower vehicle. For example, the kindness of parents loving their children, especially maternal love, never asks for a price. This is the ordinary humane love of parents and children, but it is still "love", which is emanated by "I" love; the compassion of a Bodhisattva is " Wisdom", just "without self-love", this is serious. Therefore, it is important to talk about the importance of fulfilling vows and practicing the door. We must check ourselves in the stillness at any time. What is a practitioner? A person who always strictly checks himself. Those who check their minds, thoughts, and behaviors at any time are practitioners. So don't think that there is a method, there is qigong, what are the three channels and seven chakras, or chanting a mantra, and then you will be nervous all day long, that is irrelevant. We have seen how many people who study Buddhism and Taoism are mentally abnormal. Why are they defiled? Why are there so many abnormalities?Because there is no strict practice. In other words, there is no strict self-examination and self-examination. For example, the three poisons of greed, hatred and ignorance, what do you think we are not greedy? You said that you are not greedy at all, you want to be with me all day long, and you want to spend more time with the teacher. Is this greed?I have nothing to give you, because you are "greedy", you hope that the teacher may have something to dig out, what kind of psychology is this? Why don't you study hard? When I learned from my teacher Yuan, it wasn't me who asked questions to the teacher, it was the teacher who asked me. For example, once, the two traveled from Chengdu to Chongqing. At that time, the traffic was not developed, and when they arrived in Neijiang, they were very tired.During the Anti-Japanese War, I had to stand by bus for a whole day. When I arrived at the teahouse in Neijiang, Teacher Yuan asked: Are you tired? Of course I'm tired. How are you feeling now?I answered: It is the same as when retreating on the mountain. It's really the same, it hasn't moved, that is, "Swirling haze and Yanyue, but always still, rivers and rivers compete with each other but don't flow", I don't feel shaken, and I don't feel that the wind and dust are hard work. But it's not right to feel a little tired at this time.Teacher Yuan said: No!It's not easy!I replied: About another year, I will solve this problem.Woke up early the next day, I said: Sir, you snored so badly when you slept yesterday!Teacher Yuan asked: Do you know why I snore?I was stunned, why? This is a big problem. Then Teacher Yuan asked: Do you know of a thing that doesn't snore?I said that I know theoretically.almost!Request certificate. In theory, I know that one is snoring, and the other is not snoring, and I am watching this one snoring. Taking the above example, it means that everyone is greedy and asks about everything, no matter how big or small. We check our own psychology, greed, anger, ignorance, slowness and doubt must be cut off, it is not easy! You said that you will be empty when you meditate, it is useless. You can't get over things, you can't get over when your mind comes, and when you get angry, you are bigger than anyone else. What is anger?Blaming others is anger, which is the root of anger.Being dissatisfied with the environment and everything, and maintaining a little bit of dissatisfaction is the beginning of anger. As for insanity, let alone talk about it, quoting Teacher Yuan's poem: How long will the karmic knowledge rush to the township gate like this? The five skandhas are clear, clear, and illusionary, and the various conditions are infatuated everywhere. You can see that people who study Buddhism know how to talk about emptiness, but everyone has mental, emotional, and life ignorance, etc., and all of them are ignorant.Have no wisdom!Where would these roots be found? If you don’t notice it in behavior, you will find it in your dreams. There will be such behavior in the dream, because I am always in greed, hatred and ignorance. If the behavior cannot be changed, it is impossible to change the energy channels. However, it is also absurd to think that the transformation of Qi channels is the attainment of Dao.I heard how many people's pulses have been connected, but now they have all gone to that dark place. Therefore, if you are not wavering in your mind and actions, don't talk about the four meditations and eight samadhis, let alone the attainments. To be honest, if a person has really done a good deed, if he sits with his legs crossed for a day, he will be different immediately, his Qi channels will be different immediately, and his state of mind will immediately expand. This is something that you must never deceive yourself.Don't talk about genuinely kind deeds, or inner kindness. Today, if the problems of greed, hatred, ignorance, hesitation and suspicion are solved a little bit, the state will be a little different. So when we sit up, we can’t be empty. When our mood is empty, we have to look for it to see where the root of our illness is today. Why can’t we sit empty today? When your mind is in greed, hatred, ignorance, suspicion, there must be something hanging there. This is a matter of the Alaya consciousness, not the sixth consciousness. If you don’t check this, it’s useless to just meditate for a little emptiness and kung fu. I advise you not to learn the Tao, you will harm yourself. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the aspect of mind and behavior. This is only talking about doing, not about making vows.As for making the wish to save people and save the world, those who can act in consideration of others and sacrifice themselves everywhere, in my opinion, no one can do it, and they can't do it at all, so if you want to prove the fruit, there is absolutely no such thing. In the lecture notes, the relationship between the eighty-eight knots and the Three Realms is clearly laid out in front of you.As many knots as you can untie, you will get that fruit position. These tests are all in front of you.Don't think that if you can lift your legs up for an hour, you can go to the sky; if you can go to the sky for an hour and a half, it doesn't matter. The legs are unreliable, and the practice of "walking" is to cultivate the psychological behavior, not to cultivate the legs. Buddhism tells us to get rid of afflictions, and the translation of "afflictions" in Buddhism is very well used.Taking ordinary knowledge to study, worry is a basic state of our mental behavior. "Annoyance", annoying to death; "annoyance", annoying. These are the troubles.Afflictions are sins, sins of defilement of one's own mind.In terms of metaphysical ontology, our self-nature is originally pure, and the behaviors caused by afflictions have become acquired evils. For example, when a person kills someone, it is because of the fire.Basically, it starts with a little trouble, which is the greatest evil to oneself; to the outside world, if it develops over time, it will become a great evil that harms society, the country, mankind, and the world. , so the word trouble, don't underestimate it lightly. When we talk about actions and wishes, this psychological "action" should be quiet and empty. If you want to be calm and see your nature clearly, you should check yourself anytime and anywhere. Is there any trouble in the slightest? If there is annoyance, it is very serious. There is a kind of affliction that comes from the physiology, which is caused by the imbalance of the physiology, which is what Confucianism calls the nature of temperament. Therefore, to practice Taoism, you need to change the Qi channel, that is, to change the temperament.Temperament is a real problem, not an empty theory. Why do people who cultivate the Tao have good kung fu, their complexion will be good, and their Qi channels will be clear?Because of the influence of psychological behavior, temperament is changing, every cell is changing, it is not fake. Therefore, afflictions can be transformed into bodhi, enlightened nature, clear at any time. Each of us, especially those who practice Buddhism, is always in affliction. We turn around and check, in a 24-hour day, how many seconds are we happy physically and mentally?Of course, strictly speaking, acquired happiness is also one of the troubles. The Vimalakirti Sutra says: "Afflictions are Bodhi", that is to say, if you can turn your afflictions around, you will be Bodhi. It is not right to be awakened by the stimulation of afflictions and find yourself in afflictions. Be vigilant immediately. With such a turn, you will be Bodhi right away. However, our afflictions are not Bodhi, because we are always following afflictions unconsciously. For example, a classmate said just now that his legs were numb during meditation, his physiology was not good, and troubles came. The most important part of this affliction is, of course, the physiological influence. Therefore, when the physical body is completely transformed and becomes absolutely pure, then the foundation of Taoism and samadhi will be considered. So Qimai are very important in this respect. Qi channels are also absolutely related to psychological behavior. If you do more kindness and turn your thoughts to be kinder, although it is a negative kindness and not a beneficial behavior for others, but you can get rid of the troubles in your heart first, which is also your own duty. A little bit of kindness, if you can do this a little bit, your energy channels will turn a little bit, and your concentration will naturally increase a little bit. So, why can't we meditate?Check it out because of the annoyance. There are many seeds of evil hidden in afflictions, many evil factors, which come from "afflictions". If we get rid of the affliction, and completely clear it up, at this time, our state of mind will be a little clearer, and then we can check the rise and fall of our own thoughts. For example, when we sit there, we feel that our state of mind is very pure. This is the realm of consciousness. But do you know how many sins and afflictions we have hidden in this moment of tranquility, can you check them out?Suppose someone speaks big words: In this peace of mind, I have absolutely no afflictions and no sins. Then this person should not talk about practice, he has no insight at all!In the purification of our thoughts, there are as many as 84,000 roots of afflictions and sins. This is a hypothetical number, which means many, many. The Buddha said: "There are eighty-four thousand afflictions in one thought", so there are eighty-four thousand ways to deal with these afflictions. Just now a classmate asked: Why do you feel frightened as soon as you reach the realm of emptiness, or the realm of ethereal spirit?Very scared, which is very strange. There are a few points to discuss about this issue. The first point is that the Buddha said that people who have fallen for a long time will laugh and be extremely happy when they see emptiness; people who have fallen lightly will be terrified and cry when they see emptiness. The second point, another way of saying, people who see emptiness and can’t afford to be afraid is what the Diamond Sutra says: "You should know that people plant good roots in one Buddha, two Buddhas, three, four, five Buddhas, and have planted all good roots in countless thousands of Buddhas." People who study Buddhism seek emptiness every day, and those with shallow roots of goodness will be afraid when the real emptiness comes, unable to face the reality and accept this emptiness.Where is the reason?Because of attachment, you always want to hold on to something in life. When you suddenly reach the realm of emptiness, when there is nothing to hold on to, you become afraid. This is the psychology of ordinary people, and they will naturally be afraid. The third point, when the emptiness comes, there is a sudden fear, which means that there is already a fear in your heart, it is not empty, but a fear has taken over, because we are accustomed to clinging and grabbing something , to capture this fear. Such a little thing has such complicated psychological factors.Don't we all hide many troubles and many sins in the space of one thought?Have you checked it out? These are all seemingly empty theories in practice, but they are very practical.Especially the young students, when they close their eyes, they feel a little bit pure, thinking that this is emptiness, that there is no emptiness, and that is also a psychological condition. That is to say, when we meditate, the eyes are closed, and the brain enters a state of half-rest, not complete sleep, and the eye nerves are not completely rested either. It's just that in the subconscious, it's empty, and in the subconscious memory habit, it presents a scene similar to emptiness. But in front of this scene, it was still dark, and then I got busy with philosophy here, started playing with Huatou, and then felt that I understood everything, and thought that I had broken through three barriers with one arrow!this is one. Second, when you get better mentally and have a big temper, especially young people, the first level of lust will come, that is, the love between men and women will become stronger.Don’t deceive yourself on this point, if you can’t do kung fu well, there’s nothing to say, once you do it well, sexual desires, especially physical oppression, will come. What is the reason?Greed, hatred and ignorance. The first root ignorance of greed explodes immediately.Without this coming, it is impossible to get through the Qi channel; after coming, the desire will be aroused again. What should we do about the middle elements—the heart element and the element path? How can it be cured? How did its root cause come from?Is the mind first causing the physiology?Or does physiology lead to psychology? Here is a big key.As for the elderly who think they don’t have this problem, it’s because you’re old. If you want to restore the setting sun from the west to the east, if it’s really possible, you’ll still encounter this problem in the first hurdle, because it’s Not bothered at all. Therefore, everyone should pay special attention to the eighty-eight knots and the fifty-one mental states of the theory of only knowing one hundred dharmas. What are the fundamental afflictions? What is trouble?Trouble sleeping? The word "Suimian" translates very well. It haunts you, follows you, and makes you unable to check yourself out in a state of sleep coma, and is confused by it.In fact, this is also my own demonic obstacle. Check layer by layer, how many layers can you go to, and your meditation skills will definitely reach there.According to the common way, mindfulness is the first jhana, this is just a common way.As for the real first fruit position, this is not the case. Therefore, even if you have attained the first jhana, you may not necessarily attain the first fruition.Because the standard of fruition is based on the eighty-eight knots, which are the roots of your subconscious sins and afflictions. If you remove a few layers of greed, anger, ignorance, hesitation, and suspicion, it is the test of fruition status. We must not be unaware of the teachings. Don't think that just meditating and holding a talk will be enough, it is useless. So when people ask Zen, I say: I have a "craving", and I will come if you have something delicious. How can it be that simple?difficult.Even if you achieve mindfulness, it depends on what kind of mind you are dwelling in. Mindfulness dwelling in drowsiness is also dwelling, and it is useless. If the temperament has not changed, the mind has not changed, it is useless. Secondly, even if the breathing is stopped, it is at best the second jhana, not necessarily the second fruit.Simply holding your breath will not prove the fruit position.Qi holding can be achieved with will control, and has nothing to do with Tao.And after getting angry, as long as you tease him, he will lose his temper more than anyone else.So practice is not like that, don't get it wrong. You think that when you are angry, you have kung fu and Taoism, how much does that Taoism sell for a catty?useless. The main key is psychological behavior. After the qi is stopped in the second meditation, at the same time, it is necessary to check the eighty-eight knots, how much of the psychological sins and afflictions have been eliminated? How much of the three karmas of body, speech and mind have been eliminated? So many people talk about kung fu, and after talking for a long time, they can't change the three karma of body, speech and mind at all. Don't deceive yourself. Pulse stop, many yogis in India can do it, buried in the soil will not die, this can be practiced. This just shows that our physiological functions can be trained into various situations with our hearts. This is created by the ideal and can be done.As for, is this the fruit of Dao?no. As for the three fruits and the four fruits, each path fruit can be found on the table of eighty-eight knots distributed to everyone. I have to check myself at any time every day to see how much the state of affliction and sin has been lifted in my psychological behavior, and how much good deeds I have done today. Therefore, the ancient Confucianism has merits and demerits, which are marked with red and black beans to check my psychological behavior. Kungfu achieves qi and pulse stop, which can only explain the function of the mind, and prove that the function created by the ideal can indeed achieve these kung fu and supernatural powers. As for preaching the Tao, or realizing emptiness, it is not necessarily true.It is even more difficult to realize the three kayas—dharmakaya, sambhogakaya, and nirmanakaya. The achievement of the three kayas is also the three hurdles mentioned in Zen Buddhism. Only when the real three hurdles are achieved can the achievement of the three kayas be achieved.Zen masters, or many other people, although they talk empty words, such as Zen master Xue Yanqin mentioned last time, the way can be said to be low, but is it not the achievement of the three bodies? We don't know. The achievement of the three kayas can be achieved in this life. First, change the temperament, start to do good deeds, and cooperate with the kung fu of the four meditations and eight samadhis, there is a little hope.I have personally devoted myself to this for decades, and I am also in the stage of experimentation and verification. No effort, no cultivation. Before reaching the absolute verification, don't just set a scope for yourself, make a definition, and you will be wrong in one go. The above is the line part. wish? It's even more difficult to talk about. If you don't fulfill your wishes, you won't get your views. In other words, if you don't fulfill your vows, you won't be able to achieve your attainment. What good is it to sit well? You say: I can sit in meditation for three hours, with a pure heart. At that time, you were lazy there, which can also be said to be a kind of "the Taoist steals".The meaning of this sentence in the Yin Fu Jing is that people can cultivate and become Tao by taking the essence of heaven and earth and borrowing the original functions of life. When a person is born, he steals things and the air between the heaven and the earth, and he meditates to repay the meridian, trying to absorb the righteous energy of the heaven and the earth, the essence of the sun and the moon, what a powerful robber! So the one who talks about it is also a thief. But Yin Talisman often encourages us to be thieves. If we really steal things from the universe, our life will be successful, and our life is the universe. Then you can let others snatch it, this is the Taoist point of view. Mozi's thoughts come from Taoism. Mozi wants us to "touch the top and let go of the heels to benefit the world", which is equivalent to the spirit of great compassion and compassion in Buddhism, sacrificing ourselves, which is the thought of Mohism.Mozi is a character in the legends of the Taoist immortals. According to the legends of the Taoist immortals, Mozi was still in the world when he reached Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. But who has seen him? Yang Zhu is absolutely selfish, and his liberal thoughts also come from Taoism. Now back to the topic, so when we study Buddhism and meditate, we are just sitting there and stealing, and at the same time, so many people in society are busy for us.So there is a saying in Buddhism that is very remarkable, it is a sentence that is chanted in the morning and evening: "Repay the fourfold kindness to the uppermost, and the third kind of suffering to the lowermost." We who study Buddhism must check ourselves anytime and anywhere, and report four kinds of gratitude every day. These four kinds of gratitude are all owed to us: Buddha, parents, country, and sentient beings. What kindness do sentient beings have to us?A person living in the world depends on the hard work of many people in the society, so a person who learns Buddhism must report the fourfold kindness.Every day we live, we have to trouble many people to provide us with the needs of life, in fact. While suffering in the three lower realms, one must also think about the sufferings of the lower three realms—animals, hell, and evil spirits. In other words, always think about the pain of people who are not as good as me, and think about how to help them. But have we done it? People who study Buddhism just want to find the land of Dharma and wealth for themselves, and you help me to become enlightened. Such a thought is the basis of selfishness. Why don't you help others to become enlightened first? So the top talks about actions, and the bottom talks about vows.Would you like to initiate it?Think for yourself. As for saying: "I vow to save all sentient beings, to eradicate endless afflictions, to learn countless dharmas, and to realize the supreme Buddhahood." That is really chanting sutras.First of all, all sentient beings have boundless vows to save, as long as they save me.Endless troubles vowed to stop, it is best that you help me to stop. There are boundless methods and vows to learn, just teach me.The supreme vow of Buddhism and Taoism will come true, and it will come true one day in the future. These four sentences are often annotated in this way. As long as we reflect on it, it will be very serious. So it is very difficult to come by. All the Buddhist scriptures and the twelve volumes of the Tripitaka have told us, and they all talk about fulfilling vows.Practice, thirty-seven Taos, six perfections and ten thousand practices, the basics of learning Buddhism are in these places.Understand the cause and effect of the three generations, the six reincarnations, and improve yourself from the psychological and behavioral aspects. Gradually, your kung fu and insights will naturally improve. This is not preaching, but my personal experience. If you don't work hard from here, you won't be able to solve the problem, and you won't be able to prove the fruit. The change of mental behavior is much more important than meditation and practice, and as long as the mental behavior is corrected for one day, your concentration and meditation will improve by one day. So, why can't we get samadhi, or even sit still in meditation? You pursue it in your mind, not in kung fu.The pursuit of kung fu is empty, it can be done occasionally, but it will disappear after a few days. There is no absolute relationship between sitting cross-legged and samadhi. As for sitting there, can your body and mind turn around? This is the problem. In fact, it does not depend on the posture of meditation. Only by checking yourself in the mind is the ultimate, and only then can we talk about concentration. The focus of today's conclusion is here. This course is based on the three major outlines of insight, revision, and action. Finally, I would like to emphasize one sentence - fulfillment of wishes is the most important thing. When the practice is reached, the view will be complete, and the practice will prove the fruit. The ancients proved many fruits, that is, fulfilling their vows. Now it is very popular to pass on the patriarch's patriarch (Milarepa), and everyone admires him, so can you learn from the patriarch of the patriarch?can't do it.The teacher of Patriarch Mu Na deliberately punished him so much that he asked him to tear down the four houses after they were built, and his back was worn out, pus and blood flowed out, but he didn't hold any grudges. You want the teacher to teach secret methods every day, and as long as the teacher swears a few words, you will scold the teacher. How can you do it with a heart like this! They all want to be the patriarch, the sixth patriarch. The sixth patriarch went to the fifth patriarch to seek the Dharma, and the fifth patriarch asked him to pound rice for three years. We don't have to pound the rice. On the contrary, it seems that the teacher owes us. If it was in the previous era, it would have been beaten with a stick. Why is it so unreasonable?
