Dharma Overview 明旸法师 10944Words 2018-03-20
(1) Why is the Bodhisattva named Avalokitesvara? Afulu Jidoi Shichengluo, Chinese translation is free.It refers to the wisdom of bodhisattvas not being able to see existence but not being, seeing emptiness not being emptiness; being famous but not being famous, not being confused by appearances when seeing appearances, not being able to move one's mind, not following one's surroundings, moving according to one's will without disturbing its truth, being free and unhindered. The old translation is Ana Po Lou Ji Di Shu, and the Chinese translation is Avalokitesvara.View, the wisdom of being able to observe. It can be harmonious, whether it is present or not, according to the poor and positive nature, and observe the root and the end.The sound of the world, the realm of observation.Vientiane is flowing, separated from each other, and sung differently, all suffering from separation.

Why is the Bodhisattva named Avalokitesvara?According to the scriptures, here are three sayings: (1) "Compassion Flower Sutra": The search for the treasure Tathagata is the prophecy, "Good man! You look at all living beings in the human world and the three evil ways, and you have great compassion. If you want to cut off the troubles of all living beings, and if you want to make all living beings live in peace and happiness, good Man! I call you Avalokiteshvara." This is because the Bodhisattva has a great compassionate heart, and can make all living beings escape from suffering and find happiness, so Baozang Buddha named him Avalokitesvara.

(2) "Surangama Sutra": "Before Hengsha kalpa, there was a Buddha living in the world, named Avalokiteshvara. From what I have obtained, the root of perfection, the wonderful ear door, and then the body and mind, subtle and contained, all over the Dharma world." At that time, Avalokitesvara Tathagata, in During the meeting, the Avalokitesvara number was conferred on me.Let me watch and listen to the ten directions, the roundness is unobstructed, like the sound passing through the wall, like the moon imprinting water, I will respond to my feelings. Therefore, the name of Avalokiteshvara has been heard all over the world in the ten directions. This is about Bodhisattvas practicing Dharma gates in different places. All sentient beings, outwardly discriminating voices and hearers, have the mind of slander, arouse greed, hatred and ignorance, commit adultery and killing karma, and suffer in the three stages of suffering. The bodhisattva's ears do not listen to the outside world, but he hears the nature of hearing that the ears can hear. When the kung fu is mature, the six sense organs will dissolve in time, and the silence will appear in front of him. He will prove the perfect samadhi. .

(3) "Lotus Sutra": "The Buddha told Inexhaustible Intent Bodhisattva, good man: If there are countless hundreds of thousands of billions of sentient beings who suffer from all kinds of sufferings, hear the name of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, and call the name with all their heart, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, immediately observe its voice, and all will get it." Liberation." In terms of the bodhisattva's life-saving method, it is commonly said to seek sound and save suffering. (2) Good friends of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva According to the "Buddha Saying Guan Wuliangshou Buddha Sutra", the appearance of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is as follows:

Length: Eighty trillion nayuta yojanas. Top of the head: There is a meat bun. Crown: The heavenly crown is made of Pilengamani treasure. In the celestial crown is a Lihua Buddha, twenty-five yojanas high. Face: Golden like Jambudha. The hairline between the eyebrows: Each of the seven jewel colors emits eighty-four thousand kinds of light, and each light has immeasurable and countless Bodhisattvas as attendants, who can manifest freely and fill the ten directions. Item: The item has a round light, and each side has a thousand yojanas. There are five hundred transformed Buddhas in the circle of light, which are Sakyamuni. For each Buddha, there are five hundred Bodhisattvas and countless heavenly beings, serving as attendants.

Raise your feet: When you raise your feet, there will be a thousand-spoked wheel under your feet, which will naturally turn into 50 billion lights.

Lower foot: When lowering the foot, there is Vajra Manihua, which spreads everything, filling everything. According to the "Surangama Sutra", Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva has obtained perfect ears, which can make seeing, hearing and perception perfectly integrated, interactive and interoperable, one is many, free and easy, can show countless wonderful faces, and can say boundless mantras. Heads: There may be one, three, five, seven, nine, eleven, and even one hundred and eight, one thousand, ten thousand, or eighty-four thousand shokala heads. Arms: two arms, four arms, six arms, eight arms, ten arms, twelve arms, fourteen, sixteen, eighteen, twenty, to twenty-four, and so on to one hundred and eight arms, one thousand arms, ten thousand arms , Eighty-four thousand Indra Arms.

Mesh: two, three, four, nine. This is the case to one hundred and eight eyes, one thousand eyes, and ten thousand eyes.Eighty-four thousand pure and precious eyes.Whether it is kindness, or power, or concentration, or wisdom, it can save all living beings and achieve great freedom. (3) Potaloga Mountain, India According to the "Thousand-handed Thousand-Eyed Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva's Great Compassionate Heart Dharani Sutra" translated by Salmon Gavadama of Tang Xitianzhu: Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva has become a Buddha in the past countless kalpas, and he is called Zhengfaming Tathagata. The power of great compassion vows, in order to initiate all bodhisattvas and mature all living beings in peace and happiness, is now a bodhisattva.Explain that although Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva has become a Buddha for a long time, he will never be separated from the still light.

Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva has a special affinity with all living beings in our Saha world. When the Buddha was alive, he was one of the Bodhisattvas who often accompanied Shakyamuni Buddha. His ashram, which can be inspected now, has one in India and two in China. According to "The Twenty-Seventh Chapter of Visiting Guanzi Bodhisattva" in the "Avatamsaka Sutra Entering the Dharma Realm and Pin Shancai" said: Layman Da Sediluo said to Shancai: Good man!In the south there is a mountain named Butaluojia, and there is a Bodhisattva named Avalokiteshvara. You asked him, "Why do Bodhisattvas learn the Bodhisattva's conduct and practice the Bodhisattva way?"That is to say, he said: "There are mountains on the sea with many sages, and the treasures are extremely pure. The trees are full of flowers and fruits, and the springs, ponds, and marshes are all full. The brave husband looks at himself and lives on this mountain for the benefit of all living beings. You should ask about the merits and virtues. He should show you great convenience."

At that time, the good fortune boy, gradually traveled south, as far as the other mountain, he searched everywhere for this great bodhisattva. In the rocky valley to the west, the springs are lingering, the woods are fragrant, the herbs are soft, and the ground is spread in the right hand. Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva sits in lotus position on the diamond gem. Compassionate law, so that it absorbs all sentient beings. It is said that the dojo of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva is named Butaluojia, and lives in the South Indian Sea.is an island. The natural environment here is beautiful, there are various kinds of Chinese fruit trees, there are soft herbs, flying springs and mirror lakes complement each other, it is really a fairy island on the sea.Surrounded by immeasurable bodhisattvas, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva sits in lotus position on the vajra jewel, preaching great compassion to him.Explain that compassion is the root of the Quan Yin Method. "Thousand Hands and Thousand Eyes Unobstructed Great Compassionate Heart Dharani Sutra" also narrates the Avalokitesvara Dojo:

At that time, the Buddha gathered in Putuoluojia Mountain, Guanshiyin Palace, Baozhuangyan Daochang, countless bodhisattvas, immeasurable loud hearers, immeasurable heavenly dragons and eight divisions of gods.At that time, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva secretly released light from his supernatural powers, illuminating the lands in the ten directions, turning them all golden, and the light of the sun and the moon did not appear at all. Seeing this, the Bodhisattva of the Bodhisattva of the Bodhisattva sighed that it had never happened.Ask the Buddha: Who released such supernatural powers? The Buddha said: In this assembly today, there is a Bodhisattva named Avalokitesvara, who has achieved great compassion and compassion through immeasurable kalpas, who is able to practice immeasurable dharani gates, and for the sake of peace and happiness for all sentient beings, secretly releases such great supernatural powers. It is said that on Putuoluojia Mountain, there is the Avalokitesvara Palace.Sakyamuni Buddha gathered in this mountain with countless bodhisattvas, shravakas, and heavenly dragons, such as Avalokitesvara. In addition to achieving great compassion, Guanshiyin Bodhisattva is also good at practicing the immeasurable Dharani gate, and secretly releases the light of supernatural powers. When Master Xuanzang of the Tang Dynasty came to India, he visited Putuoluojia Mountain to pay homage to the holy land of Guanyin. Volume 10 of "The Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty" wrote: On the east side of Malaye there is Butaloga Mountain, the trails are dangerous, and the rocky valleys are steep. There is a pond on the top of the mountain, whose water is clear and clear, sending out a big river, which flows around the mountain twenty times and enters the South China Sea.There is a stone palace beside the pool, where Guanzi Bodhisattva comes and goes. Those who wish to see Bodhisattvas, disregarding their own lives, travel through waters and climb mountains, forgetting the hardships and dangers, and those who can achieve it are few.And the people who live at the bottom of the mountain, pray to see you, or take the shape of the sky, or paint ashes to comfort their people, and their wishes will be fulfilled. The Butaluojia Mountain recorded by Xuanzang is steep and straight, and it is difficult for ordinary people to climb it. Only Guan Zizai Bodhisattva travels here.Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva often appears in the form of the sky, or paints ashes, comforting the world to make it meet what it wants.Explain who should be saved, and the bodhisattva will appear in what body to speak. Buta Luojia, Sanskrit potalaka is transliterated as Buduo Luojia, Putuo Luojia, Potala and so on.Freely translated as Guangming Mountain, Haidao Mountain, Xiaohuashu Mountain, etc.The second volume of "Newly Revised Huayan Sutra Yinyi" written by Huiyuan: "This is translated as Xiaohuashu Mountain. It is said that there are many small white flower trees in this mountain. The flowers are very fragrant, and the fragrance is far away."This mountain is designated as Papanasam, the southern section of the Western Ghats in today's India, east of Mount Malaya, located in the county of Tinnevery.8 degrees 43 minutes north latitude, 77 degrees 22 minutes east longitude. The famous book "History of Indian Buddhism" by Chinese Tibetan monk Doronata (1575-1643 A.D.) records: Upasaka Jiguang and Yueguan once visited this mountain for pilgrimage.Mount Putuo in Zhejiang Province of my country and Potala in Lhasa, Tibet both got their names from this. Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva preaches the Dharma for countless Bodhisattvas, voice hearers, and heavenly dragons on this mountain, and often follows Sakyamuni Buddha to various places. For example, the "Heart Sutra of the Eleven-faced God Mantra" says: The Buddha was in the Shiluo Cutting Bamboo Forest Dojo, and Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and Infinite Ju Nayu were surrounded by hundreds of gods holding mantras. "Please Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Dispelling Poison and Harm Dharani Sutra" said: The Buddha is in Vaisali, Anluo Tree Garden, Dalin Jingshe, with 1,250 monks and 20,000 Bodhisattvas. At that time, the people of Vaisali country were seriously ill.Amitabha Buddha, Avalokitesvara, and Shizhi, with great compassion, compassion for all, and relief of suffering, all came to this country, lived between the city gates, magnified the light, and illuminated Vaisali, all of which were golden.Vaishali people, that is, with poplar branches to purify water, to teach Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.Avalokitesvara Avalokitesvara said "The Curse of Breaking Evil Karma Obstacles and Eliminating Poisonous Harm". "Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Obtains Great Power and Prophecy Sutra" says: The Buddha is in the deer park of the Bolunai Immortal, with 20,000 great monks and 2,000 Bodhisattvas.Avalokitesvara, Mahasthama, and their retinues in the Western Ultimate Bliss World arrive at this world in an instant like a strong man bending and stretching his arms. With great supernatural powers, make this world as flat as water, surrounded by eight billion bodhisattvas. With great merits and virtues, solemn achievements, dignified and special, indescribable, the light shines all over the Saha world. The above-mentioned scriptures all explain that Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva often follows Shakyamuni Buddha to save lives.Thousands of rivers have water and thousands of rivers and moons. Although Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is the attendant of Amitabha Buddha in the Paradise of Ultimate Bliss, all living beings in the Saha world wholeheartedly praise him. (4) Mount Putuo, Zhejiang, my country In the second year of Mingzhen in the Later Liang Dynasty, Hui E, a Japanese monk, went to Mount Wutai to pay homage to the Manjusri Dojo. He saw a holy statue of Avalokitesvara, which was clean and solemn. Please go.After Huie got the holy statue, he immediately bought a boat to cross to the east and prepared to return home. When the ship sailed into Xinluo Reef of Zhoushan Islands in Dinghai, Zhejiang, countless iron lotus flowers (now called Lianhua Ocean) suddenly appeared in the ocean.Block the channel so that the ship cannot advance. For three days and three nights like this, the boat could not leave, but could only circle around Mount Putuo.Seeing this strangeness, Hui E immediately knelt down in front of the holy statue and begged for repentance, saying: "Master, my disciple, because the Bodhisattva holy statue is solemn, the Buddha Dharma is not widespread in our country, and holy statues are rare, so I want to invite the holy statue back to make offerings."If you take it because I don’t give it, or if there is no chance for all living beings in our country to make offerings, the disciples will build a vihara here and make offerings to holy images. After Hui E finished his confession, the boat sailed quickly to the edge of Chaoyin Cave and stopped safely. After Huie climbed the mountain, he found a fisherman's hut near Chaoyin Cave, and saw Zhang Weng explaining his purpose.Zhang Weng said with great joy: "The Bodhisattva is willing to live on this barren mountain and isolated island, which shows that he is so predestined with us."Let Master and Bodhisattva live here together.I gave up my house to build a nunnery to worship the Bodhisattva, and gathered all the people in the mountain to pay homage to the Bodhisattva. Therefore, Hui E did not return to Japan and lived in Shanzhuan. The people called this nunnery "Refused to go to Guanyin Temple". Hui E became the first founder of Mount Putuo.Since then, Putuo Mountain has become a famous Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva in my country, and Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, who is a great inspiration for saving suffering and suffering, has become a well-known Bodhisattva. (5) The Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet, my country According to the "Tibetan King and Minister" written by the fifth Dalai Lama: The origin of the Tibetan nation is that the tragic power of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva was transformed into a mutant monkey, and the Holy Salvation Tara was transformed into a Rakshasa girl, which combined with the monkey and gave birth to six. children.A child like his father is quick in thought and broad in compassion.Like a mother's child, with a red face and a strong disposition. This gradually multiplied and formed the Tibetan people and region. Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva also turned into a human being. Songtsen Gampo, king of Tibet, wanted to build a palace on the top of Potala (that is, Putuoluojia) and live there, so that all the kings in the four directions would involuntarily lean towards himself, and the eight kinds of free merits would come into being. pregnancy. So he saw with his own eyes the six-character mantra "Om Mani Bakou Mi Hum" appearing in the sky, releasing a rainbow of five colors, reflecting on the rocks, and naturally appearing the holy images of Avalokitesvara, Saving Tara, and Horse Head King Kong.Light is emitted from the statue of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and shines on the six-character mantra. These lights interweave and become a rare spectacle.Songtsan Gampo invited craftsmen from Nepal to carve the image of the Buddha and Bodhisattva, the image of the Buddha and Bodhisattva, and the six-character mantra according to the natural appearance of the Buddha statue.Songtsan Gampo built a magnificent and noble palace like the emperor's palace on Potala Mountain, and placed his concubines here.He also placed the Great General Shenbian in the palace. Tribal leaders from all over Tibet, hearing that King Songtsan was able to send out the army of Shenbian, were all awed by his majesty, and expressed their obedience sincerely. These legends show the widespread belief in Avalokitesvara in Tibet. The above three statements show that there is no definite place for Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. Wherever there is a devout Avalokitesvara belief, where there is Avalokitesvara's great compassion to save the world, there is Putuoluojia; there is Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. The so-called "cleanness is the heart is universal, and compassion and charity are Avalokitesvara." (6) The method of liberation through the practice of great compassion "Avatamsaka Sutra" says: When the boy of good fortune visits Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, how should he learn the Bodhisattva's behavior?Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva said to him: There are countless Dharma doors that Bodhisattvas should learn. But in this immeasurable and boundless method, I am practicing the method of liberation through the practice of great compassion.Great compassion is the virtue of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, known as the Great Compassionate Avalokiteshvara.Great compassion is the unique merit of Buddha. The ten powers, the four fearlessness, the great compassion, and the three mindfulness are collectively known as the eighteen unique dharmas unique to the Buddha.Ordinary people and shravakas can only speak of compassion, not great compassion. What is Buddha's great compassion like? Volume 2 of "Basic Theory-Miscellaneous Things about Vinaya" says: "The World Honored One observes all living beings at all times. He hears and sees all living beings. He always has great compassion and benefits all. At six o'clock in the day and night, he often observes all living beings with Buddha eyes. In the world, at the root of goodness, who will increase and who will decrease, who will suffer misery, who will go to the evil realm, and who will be transformed? What is the convenience, and how can it be brought out?" Viewing all living beings in the world with great compassion is the unique merit of the Buddha.Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, who speaks in person, saves suffering with great compassion, has equal merits and virtues with Buddha. How to practice the method of liberation through the practice of great compassion? The main thing is to treat all sentient beings equally, think about what they think, be anxious about what they want, and take it as their duty to eradicate the suffering of all sentient beings at all times. How can we have an equal mind?According to the doctrine of dependent origination in Buddhism, the relationship between people and all sentient beings is interdependent. If that exists, this exists, if that arises, this arises, if that does not exist, this does not exist, and if that ceases, this ceases to exist.Like a person living in the world. It cannot survive without the cultivation of farmers, the construction of workers, the circulation of merchants, the education of intellectuals, and the protection of the military and police. The same is true for the relationship between humans and sentient beings. Animals are friends of humans. Without the contribution of the animal world to humans, human survival would be difficult.Fundamentally speaking, all conscious animals are sentient beings suffering from deep karma, and have had intimate relationships with themselves since time immemorial. If we can often think in this way, the heart of equanimity and great compassion will naturally arise. The main contents of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva's Great Compassionate Practice of Liberation are the thirty-two responses and fourteen fearlessness recorded in the Lotus Sutra and the Shurangama Sutra. Comparison table of thirty-two correspondences between the Lotus Sutra and the Shurangama Sutra: "Fahuajing Pumenpin" "Shurangama Sutra Avalokitesvara Yuantong Chapter" three holy 1 Buddha four holy 1 Buddha 2 Pratyekabuddha 2 Solitary Enlightenment 3 Shravakas 3 Predestined Enlightenments 4 saravakas seven sky 1 Brahma VIII sky 1 Brahma 2 Indra 2 Indra 3 Free Heaven 3 Free Heaven King 4 big free days 4 big free days 5 days of generals 5 days of generals 6 Bishamon 6 Four Heavenly Kings 7 heaven and man 7 four heavenly kings and princes 8 days ten six kind people 1 Xiao Wang Shen Ten three kind people 1 Youdao King 2 elders 2 elders 3 Layman 3 Layman 4 official 4 official 5 Brahmins 5 Brahmins 6 Upasaka 6 Bhikkhu 7 Upas 7 Bhikkhunis 8 monks 8 upasakas 9 Bhikkhuni 9 Upayi 10 Elderly Women 10 Country Mistresses 11 lay woman 11 boy 12 female minister 12 virgin 13 Brahmin women 13 people 14 boys 15 virgins 16 people seven kind god 1 dragon six kind god 1 dragon 2 yashas 2 medicine forks 3 Gandharvas 3 Gandharvas 4 Asura 4 Asura 5 Garuda 5 Kinnara 6 Kinnara 6 Mahoraga 7 Mahoraka Other 1 non-human 1 non-human Comparison table of the Fourteen Fearlessness in the Lotus Sutra and the Shurangama Sutra: "The Universal Gate of the Lotus Sutra" "The Shurangama Sutra Avalokitesvara Yuantong Chapter" 1. Thousands of billions of suffering beings, single-mindedly call out their names, seek their voices to save suffering. All living beings in the ten directions are in distress, and they single-mindedly name them, looking for their voices to save them. 2 Put it into a great fire, and the fire will not burn.If it enters a big fire, the fire cannot burn. 3 Wherever the great water floats, there is a shallow place. If you fall into the flood, you cannot drown in the water. 4 Hunt for treasures into the sea and get rid of the difficulties of Rakshasa.Entering the realm of ghosts, ghosts will not harm you. 5 When he was killed, the knife and stick he held were broken. When the sword sticks against the body, it will break by itself. 6 Evil ghosts such as yakshas and rakshasas cannot be seen with evil eyes, let alone do harm.Ghosts such as Yaksha and Rakshasa cannot open their eyes to see them, let alone harm them. 7 Take the shackles, and you will be free.Any shackles cannot be worn. 8 If a person holds a treasure and passes through a dangerous road, he should be freed.Through barren mountains and dangerous roads, thieves cannot rob. 9 Desiring many sentient beings, you can get away from desires.Too much lust for sentient beings, you can get rid of greed, love, and pleasure. 10 All living beings who are angry can be freed from hatred. With hatred for all living beings in your heart, quench your hatred and anger. 11 Foolish beings can be freed from ignorance.Faint and ignorant sentient beings, forever away from ignorance and dullness. 12 If you want a man, you will give birth to a man of merit and wisdom. If you want to have a boy, you can get a man of merit and wisdom. 13 If you want a daughter, you will have a daughter who is upright and good looking. If you want to have a daughter, you can get a daughter with good looks and good fortune. 14 Throughout the three thousand great thousand worlds, there are now 6.2 billion Ganges Safa princes, who follow their own incarnations to teach and transform all living beings. From the point of view of the thirty-two responses, the main objects of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva's response are heaven, human beings, and gods.Among the three categories, people are the main ones. For example, the "Lotus Sutra" lists that human beings have sixteen characteristics, accounting for half of the thirty-two characteristics, and then expanding the sixteenth "person" to include all kinds of people, that is the ocean of human beings. It is worth noting that the "Lotus Sutra" says that Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva has seven female bodies: upasyi, bhikkhuni, elder woman, layman woman, magistrate woman, Brahman woman, and virgin. It fully shows that Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva deeply sympathizes with the suffering fate of women. In addition, the woman's character is kind, forbearing and gentle, with selfless maternal love, which corresponds to the great compassion of Guanyin. In fact, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is the image of a man. The "Huayan Sutra" says: "Avalokitesvara, the brave husband." How did Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva obtain the thirty-two responses?According to the "Surangama Sutra", it is said that because Avalokitesvara made offerings to the ancient Avalokitesvara Buddha, and was taught by the ancient Avalokitesvara Buddha to practice the Vajra Samadhi like a phantasm, the Buddhas in the ten directions are at the same level as the Buddha Tathagata. The sentient beings of the six realms share the same sorrow and admiration with all sentient beings.Let me accomplish the thirty-two responses and enter the lands.Explain that the thirty-two responses of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva are expressed from the great compassion and great compassion of the same body. The great compassion of the same body, the heart of pity and admiration for all living beings, is the heart of a great man; the heart of a great man, compassion, is also the heart of all living beings. All the holy bodies are the same, and the induction is the same.It can make all living beings respond to the great master's body and mind wonderfully, and obtain fourteen kinds of fearless merits. If all living beings are in suffering, they will name them wholeheartedly and communicate with each other. To save all living beings who are in fear, to be freed, that is to say, to be fearless.Because of the great master's perfect power and virtue, he makes all living beings free from suffering and fearless. "Pumen Pin" says: "All living beings are trapped, and immeasurable suffering forces their bodies, and Guanyin's wonderful intelligence can save the suffering in the world."The suffering of all living beings is boundless, and Guanyin's wonderful intelligence is boundless, and he can save the suffering of all living beings. When talking about the fourteen, it is only to give a few examples. It does not mean that the master only saves the fourteen kinds of suffering. (7) The Dharma Door of Great Wisdom and Profound Prajna The characteristic of bodhisattva cultivation is the dual cultivation of compassion and wisdom.Only the great compassion based on the great wisdom can be free from indifference.Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva's great wisdom method is called "deep prajna" in the book, and its content: Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva practices deep Prajna Paramita for a long time, sees all five aggregates are empty, and endures all hardships. Relic!Form is not different from emptiness, and emptiness is not different from form; form is emptiness, and emptiness is form.Want to know that line, same is the case. Relic! It is the empty phase of all dharmas, neither born nor destroyed, neither dirty nor clean, neither increasing nor decreasing. It is colorless in the air, without feeling, thinking, line and consciousness. There are three paragraphs of the scriptures, one standard, two interpretations, and three conclusions. 1. Biaozong: Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva practiced the deep Prajna Paramita for a long time, and saw that all five aggregates were empty.Buddhism summarizes the real world of matter and spirit with the five aggregates. In the minds of sentient beings, they believe that the reality (self-nature) of the real world is real, so they have all kinds of attachments, all kinds of troubles, all kinds of karma, all kinds of suffering, life and death, and there is no liberation.Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva observes that the five aggregates exist according to causes and conditions, and there is no isolated independence; they arise and cease to vary according to causes and conditions, and there is no eternal invariance.Deeply seeking the self-nature of all dharmas is impossible to obtain, seeing that the five aggregates are empty, and breaking the real confusion and delusional attachment.Realize the emptiness of all dharmas that are all jokes, and be liberated from life and death, and overcome all hardships. 2. Interpretation: All dharmas are born of causes and conditions, and are comprehensive activities (complexes) under various relationships and conditions. It is impossible to find an independent entity (single body), so it is called emptiness. This principle, in line with Shengyi, is also called Shengyi emptiness.Although all dharmas have no self-nature, they appear in the relationship of cause and condition. This inextricable relationship between emptiness and emptiness was summed up by the ancients as "after all, emptiness seems to exist, and as if to exist, there is emptiness after all." For example, "Yang Yan", water vapor rises under the sun, and when viewed from a distance, it forms a pool of clear water that fluctuates. Not only will thirsty deer move forward, but people will also mistake it for water. This illusory "Yang Yan" is said to be real, but there is no trace of truth to be found. It is said that there is nothing, but it can be seen and heard, and it is clearly present. The same is true of all dharmas in the world. It is not pleasant to say that it is born of cause and condition, empty and without self-nature, but cause and effect are distinct. This karmic existence does not hinder the emptiness of self-nature, and the emptiness of self-nature does not hinder the existence of karma. The existence of cause and condition and the emptiness of self-nature are dependent on each other, and there is no hindrance to each other. The emptiness of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is "form is not different from emptiness, emptiness is not different from form; form is emptiness, emptiness is form." Stay away from the illusion of two sides of emptiness, and show the correct view of the middle way without hindrance. From this bodhisattva can "the world is Nirvana", "life and death is liberation", "affliction is Bodhi", "not leaving the world but entering the Dharma Realm together, not clinging to life and death, not staying in Nirvana".It reveals the Bodhisattva's spirit of great wisdom and compassion that never leaves the world and does not abandon all living beings. 3. In summary, the Bodhisattva sees that the five aggregates are all empty, which means that in the practice of attainment, the five aggregates of form, form, and emptiness, and the empty appearance of all dharmas, are colorless in the air, feeling, thought, action, consciousness, and the world of all living beings, which are life and death. In reality, the only way to turn obsession into enlightenment, turn mortals into sages, is to see the emptiness immediately and enter into the emptiness. Therefore, the "Prajna Sutra" says: "The wisdom eye sees nothing in all dharmas." The "Diamond Sutra" says: "If you see all appearances and non-appearances, you will see the Tathagata." The patriarch of Zen also said: "You can see the mountains all day long but not the mountains. "Because of viewing the emptiness, we can get in touch with the reality of all dharmas, and achieve the unobstructed existence of emptiness, which is the deep prajna method of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. (8) The Dharma Gate of Perfect Ear Root (Diamond Samadhi) According to Volume 6 of the Shurangama Sutra, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva said from Chen Zhengwu's journey: Recall that before Hengsha kalpa, there was a Buddha named Avalokiteshvara who was born in the world. He taught me to enter samadhi from hearing, contemplating and cultivating.Following the teachings, I began to cultivate from the listening ability of the ears.At the beginning of hearing, follow the nature and go against the current, and return to the light, not only will you not hear the sound and dust you heard, but the hearing nature that you can hear will also become tranquil. The two phases of energy disappear together. If the power of concentration is deepening day by day, the root of hearing and the dust of the sound will disappear at the same time, and a clear and boundless state will appear in front of you.Continue to practice hard. Not only the sense of the clear and empty environment, but the wisdom that can illuminate the empty environment is also empty. The sense of emptiness is extremely round, not only the intellectual realm is extinguished, but the emptiness that can be emptied is also extinguished.Birth and death have passed away, and the true heart that does not arise and die will naturally appear and magnify the light. In an instant, he suddenly transcends the world and the world, and is not bound by concepts such as emptiness and existence. The stillness illuminates the void, the ten directions are round and bright, and there are two special merits and virtues at one time.Firstly, the original enlightenment mind of all the Buddhas in the ten directions is above the same body and the same kindness as the Buddha.Together with the ten directions and six paths, all sentient beings can share sorrows and admiration with sentient beings.Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva's ears and roots are perfect, also known as "like imaginary, smelling, smelling and practicing Vajra Samadhi." The thirty-two responses and fourteen fearlessness mentioned in the Shurangama Sutra are different from those in the Lotus Sutra. The Lotus Sutra says that it comes from the Bodhisattva's great compassion. The "Surangama Sutra" says that it emerged from Vajra Mahatma, that is, the function of Vajra Mahatma, so it can achieve thirty-two incarnations, go to the senses at random, travel to various lands at will, and go to the other side together. The Shurangama Sutra's description of the fourteen fearless, each of which is related to the Vajra Samadhi, and then emphatically pointed out that this is the virtue of the inconceivable function of the Samadhi. For example, the second article is set into a big fire, and the fire cannot burn. The Shurangama Sutra first analyzes Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, turning around the deluded knowledge and deluded views of the external world, and returning to the true knowledge and true views of the self-nature.Seeing and feeling belong to fire, and after returning to falsehood and returning to truth, the fire of inner seeing and feeling has died down, and the external fire in the world cannot cause harm. With this function, it can be used for virtue and benefit all living beings. Therefore, if all sentient beings are caught in a big fire, as long as they call the name of Avalokitesvara wholeheartedly, they will not be burned by the fire.Such a reasonable analysis from reason to matter not only clears the fog of mysticism, but also enables people to establish correct belief in Guanyin. Therefore, Master Yuanying, the former teacher, said: "The Shurangama Sutra is the best", which can be said to have received the profound and wonderful teachings of the Tathagata. (9) Dharani Method The Dharani Dharma Gate, or the Zongzhi Dharma Gate, or the Mantra (mantra), is the fruitful crystallization of the mind of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. There are countless Buddhas in the world, so there are countless Dharani gates. In the same Dharani gate, there are also countless Buddhas who have achieved results in practice.Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, from immeasurable kalpas, has achieved great compassion and great compassion, and is able to practice immeasurable Dharani gates.According to Volume 20 of "Taizheng Zang" and Section 3 of Esoteric Teachings, there are more than 70 kinds of scriptures, mantras and rituals related to Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Dharani, which shows that Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva occupies an important position in Esoteric Buddhism. There are fifteen kinds of appearances of Guanyin Bodhisattva: 1. "The Great Nikkei" said: "Water is auspicious, or water comes out of the lotus, and water comes out from the hands." (10) Pure Land Method Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva has a special relationship with Amitabha Buddha. (1) It is said that Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is the incarnation of Amitabha Buddha; (2) Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is said to be the Dharmakaya master who has lived his whole life and is the successor of Amitabha Buddha. (3) It is said that Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva appears in the Western Paradise, is the assistant of Amitabha Buddha, and is one of the three saints in the West. Among the three theories, the third one is the most general, and the most specific one is "Buddha Talks and Contemplation of Infinite Life Sutra".This sutra says: Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and Mahasthamaprapta are the same in all places. All living beings only watch the Prime Minister, know that it is Avalokitesvara, and know that it is Mahasthamaprapta. These two bodhisattvas help Amitabha to transform everything. For those who are born in the upper class and those who are born in the lower class, Amitabha, Avalokitesvara, and Mahasthama respectively hold the Vajra Platform, the Zijin Platform, and the Golden Lotus to the practitioner.
