The Three Gospels (2) Jesus Saying Goodbye to His Disciples Jesus and his disciples walked on the road leading to the Mount of Olives, talking, comforting them and exhorting them. Jesus said to them, "Now that the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in the Son of Man, God will glorify the Son of Man by himself, and he will glorify him quickly. "Boys, I will be with you for a little while, and you will look for me later, but you will not go where I am going. I have said this to the Jews, and I will say the same to you now. . "I give you a new commandment. This is that you love one another. As I love you, you also love one another. If you love one another, by this everyone will know that you are my disciples."

Simon Peter cried, "Lord, where are you going?" Jesus replied, "Where I am going, you cannot follow me now, but you will follow me in the future." Jesus turned and said to the crowd, "From now on, you will all stumble because of me, because it is written that I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered. But after I am resurrected, I will go to Galilee before you go." Peter didn't take it seriously when he heard Jesus say, "All will fall because of me." He said, "Lord, although all people fall because of you, I will never fall. "

Jesus said, "Peter, I tell you, before the rooster crows tonight, you will say that you do not know me three times." Peter said, "Even if I must die with you, I cannot deny you." All the disciples followed him. The audience was so confident that Jesus changed the subject and asked them, "When I sent you out, you had no purse, no bag, no shoes. Did you lack anything?" They said "no".Jesus said: "But now whoever has a purse may take it, and whoever has a bag may take it, and whoever does not have a sword will sell his clothes and buy a knife. I tell you, it is written that he is numbered among the criminals. This word It will happen to me, for what concerns me, it will happen."

The disciples said, "Look, Lord! Here are two swords." Jesus said, "Enough is enough". Seeing that the disciples were depressed, Jesus comforted them again, saying, "Don't let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God, and you should also believe in Me. There are many dwellings in my Father's house. If there were no dwellings, I would have told you. I will go to the original place. It is to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to me. Where I am, you will also be there. You know where I am going. Whichever way you will Know."

Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how do we know the way?" Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to my father except through me. If you know me, you will also know my father. From now on, you will know him, And can already see him." Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us." Jesus said to him, "Philip, don't you know me after I've been with you all this time? When people see me, they see my father. Why do you still say show us the Father? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak to you do not come from my own thoughts, but the Father who lives in me does his own work. You Believe me, I am in the Father, and the Father is in me, even if you don't believe this, believe me by what we have done, I tell you the truth: what I do, believe in me People will do it too, and even greater things than this, because I go to the Father, and whatever you ask in my name, I will surely grant it to you, and I will make the father glorified because of the Son.

remember! If you ask anything in my name, I will grant it to you. " Jesus said again, "If you love me, you must obey my commands. I will ask the Father, and the Father will give you another Comforter to be with you forever: the Holy Spirit of truth, whoever The world cannot accept it, because the world cannot see him and does not know him, but you can know him, because he is always with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans, I will come Come here. There is not much time left when the world will no longer see me, but you will see me because I live. You will live too, and then you will know that I am in the Father and you are in me , I also will be in you.

"He who has my commands and obeys them is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and I will show him." Jesus added. Judas (not Judas Iscariot) asked Jesus, "Lord, why did you appear to us and not to the world?" Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he must keep my teaching. My father will love him too, and we will go to him and live with him. He who does not love me does not keep my teaching. The word you have heard is not mine, but he who sent me, the word of my father, which I have spoken to you while I was still with you; but the Comforter, the Father, because I the Holy Spirit whom I will send in the name of God, who will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. not as it is given by the world, do not let your heart be troubled, nor be afraid, for you have heard that I have told you that I am going to come to you, and if you love me, because I am going to my father, you will You must rejoice, because my father is greater than me. Now the matter has not yet come to pass. I will tell you in advance, so that you can believe it when it comes to pass. From now on, I will not talk to you any more, because the prince of this world is coming. He has nothing in me, but let the world know that I love my father and that I will do what my father tells me. Arise, let us go!" (John 14)

parting disciples On the way to the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus bid farewell to the disciples in a slightly mournful way, encouraging them to walk the way of God and accept the departure of the Lord bravely. Jesus knew that at dawn he would no longer be able to teach them, and he declared to them his mission and value again. Here he understands the parable he tells of himself as the true vine: "I am the true vine, the planter of my Father. Every branch that is barren he takes away, and every branch that bears fruit he prunes." clean……." Then he asked them to practice the love of the Lord, "Love one another as I love you. This is my command. There is no greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. If you do what I command you, You are my friends. I will no longer call you servants, because the servant does not know what the master has done. I therefore call you friends, because I have told you everything I heard from my father. You did not choose I have chosen you; and I have appointed you to go and bear fruit, that your fruit shall last, that whatever you ask of my Father in my name, he may give you. This is what I command you, that you may love one another."

He told them that whoever hates Jesus hates the word of God, that is, he is an enemy of those who believe in God. "If the world hates you, you know that it hates Me before it hates you." Jesus said again: "If you belong to the world, the world will love what belongs to itself; because you do not belong to this world, but I have chosen you from this world, so the world hates you. Remember what I said to you before: A servant is not greater than a master. If they persecuted me, they will persecute you, and if they keep my word, they will Keep your word. But they will do all these things to you because of my name, because they do not know the God who sent me. If I had not come to teach them, they would not have sinned; but now they have no excuse Those who hate me also hate my father. If I had not done among them what no one else has done, they would have been innocent; but now they have seen me and my father, and have hated me. This Test what is written in their law, saying, They hated me without cause. But I will send from the Father the Comforter, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, and when he comes, he will testify about me. And bear witness, for you have been with me from the beginning."

After saying these things, Jesus stopped and looked at the disciples, and said again, "I have told you these things, so that you would not stumble. They will drive you out of the synagogues, and the time is coming when whoever kills you , thinking that they were serving God. They acted in this way because they did not know my father, and they did not know me. I tell you this fact, so that when you come across this thing, you may remember my love for You have said it. I did not tell you this at first, because I was with you. Now I am going to the Father who sent me, and no one among you has told me: where are you going? Just because I tell you this, and you are filled with sorrow. But I tell you the truth, it is good for you that I go, and if I do not go, the Comforter will not come to you, and if I go, My father will send him. And since he has come, he will convict the world of sin, of righteousness, of judgment, of sin, because they do not believe me; of righteousness, because I go to the father , you will no longer see me; for judgment, because the Lord of this world is judged."

"I have many things to tell you, but you do not yet understand them. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you to all truths, for he does not rely on what he knows, but what he hears Speak it and tell you what is to come. He will glorify me, for he will tell you what he has given me. All that my father has is mine, so I say, he will give me I will tell you. You will not see me in a short time, and you will see me again in a short time." Hearing what Jesus said, some of the disciples said to each other: "He said to us that you will not see me in a short time, and you will see me in a short time." What does it mean? Why can't we understand what he's saying?" Jesus saw that the disciples were going to ask him these questions, and before they could open their mouths, he said to them, "I said, You will not see me in a short time, and you will see me in a short time. What are you doing for this?" Do you ask each other? Then I tell you the truth, you will weep and wail, but the world will rejoice; you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. For example, when a woman gives birth, she is sorrowful, For her time has come; and having borne a child, she will remember her pain no more, for she rejoices that another man has been born into the world. You too are sorrowful now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will become joyful, the joy No one can take it away. "In that day, you will not ask me anything. I tell you the truth, if you ask my father for anything, he will give it to you in my name. You have never asked in my name What, now if you ask, you will receive, so that your joy may be full. "These things I have spoken to you in parables; the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in parables, but I will tell you plainly what my father means. Then you shall pray in my name ;I do not say to you, I will ask the Father for you. My Father himself loves you, because you have loved Me and believed that I was sent from the Father, from My Father I came to this world, I will leave this world again and go to my father." The disciples said, "Now you speak clearly and do not use parables. Now we know that you know all things and no one asks you. Therefore we believe that you are sent from God." Jesus said, "Do you believe now? Look at that! The time is coming, and it has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own place, and I will be left alone. In fact, I am not alone, because the Father is with me. With me, I tell you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but take heart, I have overcome the world." (John 15, 16) final parting prayer After these many words to his disciples, Jesus lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son, and let the Son glorify you; as you gave him authority over all flesh , that he may give eternal life to whom you have given him. To know you as the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ whom you have sent, is eternal life. I have glorified you on earth, and what you have entrusted to me Well, I'm done. "Father, now make me share with you the glory that I had with you before there was a world. I have revealed your name to those whom you have given me from the world. They were are yours, and you have given them to me, and they have kept your word, and now they know that whatever you have given me comes from you; for the word you have given me, I have given it to them. They also received it, and they knew it was sent from you, and they believed that you sent me. I prayed for them, not for the world, but you gave it My people pray, for they are yours, and what is mine is yours, and what is yours is mine, and I am glorified in them. "From now on, I am not in the world, but they will remain in the world, and I come to you, O Holy Father, keep them in the name that you have given me, that they may be one as we are. When I was with them, I kept them in the name that you gave me, and I guarded them; none of them died except the son of perdition, so that the scriptures might be fulfilled; now I come to you Go, I still say this in the world, that their hearts may be filled with my joy. "I have given them your word, and the world hates them; for they are not of the world, as I am not of the world, and I do not ask you to take them out of the world, but to protect them from their sins, they are not of the world , as I am not of the world, sanctify them by the truth, for thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, so I have sent them to do in the world. For their sake I sanctify myself .that they also should be sanctified through the truth." After praying for the disciples, Jesus went on to pray for believers, saying, "I pray not only for these, but also for those who believe in me through their word, that they may all be one. "As your dear Father is in me and I in you, so I will cause them to be in me, that the world may believe that you sent me, and that the glory you have given me I have given them, Make them one, as we are one. "I am in them and you are in me, so that they may be perfectly one, that the world may know that you sent me, and that you love them as you love me. "Father, where I am, may those whom you have given me be with me, that they may see the glory which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world, just Father, The world has not known you, but I know you, and these know that you have sent me. I have made known to them your name, and I will show them, so that the love of mine that you love may be in them, and I in them ’” (John 17) Jesus concluded his prayer for the disciples, which later became known as the “Prayer of the High Priest.” Betrayal in the Garden of Gethsemane After Jesus had prayed for his disciples, he crossed the Kidron River with them, where there was a garden called Gethsemane. Entering the garden, Jesus said to his disciples, "Sit here and wait for me to go over there and pray." So he took only Peter and Zebedae's two sons, John and James, to pray. At this time, the incarnate Jesus was extremely sad and sad.He said to them, "I am very troubled in heart, almost to death; wait here and watch with me." Jesus walked away a little, touched the stone-throwing distance, fell down on the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me, but not as I will, but as you will." After Jesus finished praying for the first time, he returned to his disciples and saw that they were asleep. He said to Peter, "What's the matter? Can't you watch with me for a moment? Always watch and pray, so that you will not be deceived. Surely your spirit is willing. The flesh is weak." The second time Jesus went to pray again and said, "My Father, if this cup does not leave me until I drink it, may your will be done." Then he returned to the three disciples and saw that they were still asleep, because Their eyes were too sleepy to keep open. The third time Jesus left the disciples to pray, and what he said was the same as the second time. Finally, Jesus calmed down and returned to the disciples. He woke them up and said, "Are you still sleeping so peacefully? Get up quickly!" The time has come when the Son of Man is sold into the hands of sinners. Get up, let's go!Behold, my betrayer is near. " While Jesus was saying this, Judas, one of the twelve disciples, came, and many people came with him from the chief priests and elders of the people, armed with lanterns, torches, and swords and clubs. For it was Judas who betrayed Jesus. Those who knew the Garden of Gethsemane, because Jesus and his disciples went there many times to gather, Judas knew that Jesus would definitely come here after the feast, so he brought the group of sinners to rush here. On the way, Judas was afraid that the sinners would not recognize Jesus, so he made an agreement with them to kiss Jesus, saying: "Whoever I kiss, he will be him. You can go up and arrest him." Judas the betrayer pretended nothing happened. He walked up to Jesus and said, "Greetings, sir." After speaking, he kissed him.Jesus said to him, "My friend, do what you have come to do!" So those people rushed forward and surrounded Jesus, trying to arrest him. When the eleven disciples saw a large group of people hula surrounding Jesus and trying to take him away, they immediately fell asleep and fell asleep.Simon Peter, who was among them, happened to be carrying a knife, so he drew it out and slashed the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear. The servant named Malchus immediately covered the wound with his hand and screamed. . Jesus stopped Peter and said, "Put the sword away! Anyone who draws the sword will die by the sword." According to the Gospel of Jesus, all violence is condemned.Even in the face of death, Jesus practiced this principle. When Jesus had finished speaking, he stretched out his hand and touched Malchus' ear, and his ear was intact again. Jesus continued to say to Peter, "Do you think I can't ask my father to send me twelve legions of angels? If so, how can it be fulfilled that the scriptures must be like this? I How could I not drink the bitter cup my father gave me?" After speaking, Jesus turned to the sinners and said angrily, "Are you arresting me with swords and sticks, just like arresting a robber? Every day I sit in the temple and teach people, but you did not arrest me. But now you are arresting me, It is to fulfill the words of the prophets, now is your time, darkness reigns." Jesus stood up and said to the sinners, "I have told you that I am Jesus. If you are looking for me, let these people go!" Under his cover, the disciples fled away one after another. Seeing that the disciples had completely left, Jesus walked out of the Garden of Gethsemane together with his captors with his head held high (Matthew 26) first trial The soldiers sent by the chief priests, the captain, and the officers of Judah took Jesus, bound him, and brought him first to Annas, because Annas was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, the high priest that year, and Caiaphas It is the one who once said to the Jews that "it is beneficial for a man to die for the people". Simon Peter followed Jesus from a distance, and another disciple followed Jesus to the courtyard of the high priest. Because the disciple knew the high priest, he followed Jesus into the courtyard of the high priest first. He turned around and saw Peter standing outside the courtyard. Then he spoke to the maid at the door again, and led Peter in.The maid at the door pointed to Jesus and said to Peter, "Aren't you also this man's disciple?" Peter shook his head in panic and said, "I am not." , Peter also stood with them to enjoy the fire, he wanted to see how the matter was resolved. Peter was standing by the fire, when one of the servants asked him, "Aren't you also his disciple?" Peter gave him a hard look and said, "I am not." Another servant of the high priest was cut off by Peter. The relative of Mahler in the ear stared at Peter and said to him softly, "Didn't I see you with him in the Garden of Gethsemane?" Peter shouted angrily, "I don't know you What exactly was said." Just as he was talking and asking, the rooster crowed, and Jesus turned to look at Peter, with understanding and anticipation in his eyes.Peter remembered what Jesus had said to him: "Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times." Unable to control his emotions any longer, he rushed out of the courtyard and walked in the darkness, weeping bitterly. In the courtyard of the high priest, Anna questioned Jesus about his disciples and his teaching.Jesus answered, "I have always spoken plainly to the world, and I have often taught in synagogues and temples, where the Jews gather; and I have not spoken in secret. Why do you ask me; ask those who hear people, what I say to them, and what I say, they know." When Jesus said this, an officer standing by him hit him with the palm of his hand and said, "Is that how you answer the high priest?" Jesus said, "If what I said is wrong, you can correct it; if what I said is right, Why did you hit me again?" Anna could not take Jesus, so she brought him back to Caiaphas, still bound. At Caiaphas, the scribes and elders were getting impatient. As soon as Jesus arrived, they began his trial. They tried to find testimony against Jesus in order to put him to death, but they couldn't find any decent evidence.Because there are many people who testify falsely, they are inconsistent, and they are self-defeating.Some people stood up and told him falsely, "We heard him say, I will tear down this temple made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands." The high priest stood up and stood in the middle, and asked Jesus He said, "Aren't you answering anything? What are these people testifying against you?" But Jesus said nothing, and didn't answer a word. The high priest asked him again, "As the living God I call you, tell us, are you the Christ, the Son of God?" Jesus said, "You are right. Then if I told you, you would not believe me; if I asked you, you would not answer. From now on, the Son of Man will sit at the right hand of the mighty God, and come on the clouds of heaven ." The high priest tore his clothes and said, "He has spoken blasphemy. Why should we use witnesses? You have heard the blasphemy now. What do you think?" When all the people present heard the high priest's question, they shouted together: "He deserves to die." They rushed up, spat on Jesus' face, beat him with their fists, and some with their palms, saying, "Christ, you A prophet, tell us who hit you?" When morning came, the chief priests and the elders of the people concurred that Jesus should be put to death, and they bound him and delivered him to the governor Pilate. At this time, Judas, who betrayed Jesus, saw that Jesus had been condemned to death, and suddenly his conscience realized that he was very remorseful, so he took back the thirty yuan and gave it to the chief priests and elders, saying, "I betrayed the blood of innocent people. guilty." They said, "What business is that to us? Take it upon yourself!" So Judas threw the money into the temple, ran out and hanged himself. The chief priests took up the money and said, "This is the price of blood; do not put it in the treasury." They discussed together, and with the money they bought a field from the potter's house, in order to bury the stranger.Ruan Yi said that field is still called "Blood Field" to this day. This is in response to the words of the prophet Neremiah, who said, "They bought a field of the kiln household for the thirty pieces of silver, which is the estimated price of the people of Israel, according to the which the Lord has commanded me." (Matthew 27) Sentenced to death They led Jesus away from Caiaphas to the gate of the palace. It was still early, but they themselves did not enter the gate of the palace, lest they be polluted and not be able to eat the Passover. Pilate came out of the praetorium and went to them and said, "What are you suing this man for?" They answered, "If this man had not been an evildoer, we would not have to hand him over to you." Rado said, "Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law." The Jews said, "We have no right to kill." This would fulfill what Jesus said about how he would die. Hearing those Judahs accuse Jesus repeatedly, saying, "We saw this man seduce the people, encourage tax resistance to Caesar, and claim that he is the Christ and the king." Pilate then entered the yamen, called Jesus over, and asked him, "" Are you the king of the people of Judah?" Jesus answered, "Did you say this yourself, or did others tell you about me?" Pilate said, "I am not a Jew. Your people and the chief priests handed you over to me. Who are you and what caused them to do this?" Jesus replied, "My kingdom is not of this world; if my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have fought so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but my kingdom is not of this world." Pilate said to Jesus again, "So you are a king?" Jesus replied, "You say that I am a king. For this I was born; for this I came into the world, to bear witness to the truth; and all who belong to the truth listen to my words." Pilate said, "What is truth?" After saying this, he went to the chief priests and the crowd and said, "I can find no fault in this man." (John 18) But those people became more panicked and said : "He stirred up the people, and preached throughout Judea, from Galilee to this place." When Pilate heard this, he asked, "Is this man from Galilee?" Knowing that Jesus belonged to Herod, he sent him to Herod. Herod was in Jerusalem at that time, and when he saw Jesus, he was very happy, because he had heard about him, and he longed to see him, and he hoped to see him perform a miracle. So he asked him a lot of work, but Jesus didn't answer a word. The chief priests and scribes stood up and tried to frame him.Herod and his soldiers despised Jesus, mocked him, dressed him in rich clothes, and sent him back to Pilate.Herod and Pilate, who had been enemies before, became friends on that day. Pilate sent the chief priests, the government, and the people together, and he said to them, "Bring this man to me, saying that he is a seducer to the people. Behold, I will try him before you about what you have accused him of. , and found no crime in him, even Herod, so I sent him back, and it was evident that he had committed no crime; for this reason, I will beat him and let him go." All the people shouted together, "Get rid of this man! Release Barabbas to us!" (Luke 23). It turned out that the governor had a custom to release a prisoner to them whenever the people wanted.Barabbas, whom the crowd demanded to be released, was a robber who had been captured with the rebels.During the rebellion, he once killed people. Pilate asked repeatedly: "Do you want me to release the Lord of the Jews to you?" He knew that the chief priests had released Jesus because of jealousy, and he was unwilling to deal with him.In addition, when he was judging Jesus, his wife sent a message to him: "You have nothing to do with the righteous man's affairs; because I suffered a lot for him in a dream today." Killed Jesus. Helplessly, the chief priests and elders instigated the crowd to demand the release of Barabbas and the destruction of Jesus. They even said directly to Pilate, "If you release this man, you are not a loyal subject of Caesar. Anyone who makes himself a king has betrayed Caesar." (John 19) Pilate heard this, So they brought Jesus out, and came to a place called Pavement Stone, or Ebadah in Hebrew, and there he sat in church. It was about noon on the day of preparing for the Passover, and Pilate said to the Jews, "Behold, here is your king." And they cried out, "Away with him, away with him! Crucify him." !" Pilate said, "Shall I crucify your king?" The chief priests answered, "We have no king but Caesar." Pilate turned back to Jesus again and said, "Where did you come from? Don't you speak to me? Don't you know that I have the authority to release you and to crucify you?" Jesus replied, "If it had not been given to you from above, you would have no authority for me, so the one who handed me over to you sinned even more." (John 19:10-12) Pilate saw that Unable to persuade the crowd, and afraid of chaos, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd, saying, "I am innocent of this righteous man's blood. Take it upon yourself!" They all answered, "His blood be on us and on our children." So Pilate released Barabbas to them, and having Jesus scourged, he handed him over to be crucified. (Matthew 27:2426) The governor's soldiers took Jesus into the yamen and called the whole battalion to gather around him. They undressed him, and put on a scarlet robe; they wove a crown of thorns, and put it on his head; they put a reed in his right hand, and kneeling before him, mocked him, saying, "Congratulations, Jew O king!" He spat on his face again, and struck him on the head with the reed. When the teasing was over, they stripped him of his robe, put on his own clothes, and led him out to be crucified. (Big 27:27-31) martyrdom cross The place where Jesus was crucified was Calvary on the north side of Jerusalem. "Golgotha" means "skull", not only because the mountain looks like a skull from a distance, but also because this is the execution ground where Rome suppressed and executed the Jews. The death penalty of crucifixion was applied to aliens under Roman rule, not to Romans. This is the cruelest form of execution. People who are crucified will die after suffering for a long time, and it has the purpose of showing the public. According to regulations, those who are sentenced to be crucified must carry the cross on their own and walk to the execution ground under the escort of soldiers. But Jesus was beaten and tortured many times, and he was exhausted physically and mentally. The Roman soldiers seized a Cyreneian named Simon who had come from the countryside, and forced him to carry the cross for Jesus to Mount Calvary. This Simon was Luhan's father, and later their whole family became disciples of Jesus. Many people followed Jesus on the road to Calvary, and many women were among them, and the women wept bitterly for him.Jesus turned to them and said, "Women of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but for yourself and for your children. For the days are coming when people will say, 'Whoever is barren and who has not conceived, who has not nursed a baby , blessed! Then they will say to the mountain, "Fall on me!" and say to the hill, "Cover us! If these things are done on the tree that has water, what will happen to the tree that is dry?" (Lu 23:26-32) People would not have understood at the time that Jesus' words "the days are coming" were referring to the disaster that would come to Jerusalem in AD 70.The Jewish nation is already like a dead tree, which can no longer withstand the ravages and devastation of the Romans. Many people who knew Jesus well, as well as women who followed him from Galilee, also followed him to the foot of the cross.Among them were Mary the mother of Jesus, Mary Magdalene, the mother of James the Younger and Joses, the mother of the two sons of Zebedee, and Salome. Among Jesus' disciples, John was the only one who followed to the foot of the cross. (John 19:25-28) When they arrived at the execution ground, the soldiers gave Jesus to drink wine mixed with gall and myrrh. Jesus tasted it and refused to drink any more. He would rather drink it from the hand of his father soberly for the redemption of mankind. The bitter cup that I took, and I do not want to drink the anesthetic that can reduce the pain of being crucified. The soldiers crucified Jesus, along with two thieves, one on his left and one on his right. (Matthew 27:33-39) Pilate used a sign to write a title on Jesus' head, which read "Jesus of Nazareth, Lord of the Jews." Many Jews read this title, Because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Hebrew, Roman, and Greek. The chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, "Do not write about the Lord of the Jews, but write about himself saying that I am the Lord of the Jews." Pilate said, "What I have written, I have written. There is no more changed." (John 19:19-23) When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his clothes and divided them into four parts, one for each soldier; It turned out that there was no seam, and it was woven one piece at a time, so it was not easy to tear it apart, so they said to each other, "Let's not tear it apart, but cast lots and see who gets it." This is what the scriptures of fulfillment say: "They分了我的外衣,为我的里衣拈阄。"
