Chapter 68 Ji Zhenqin

I am writing this article to commemorate the 220th anniversary of Cao Xueqin's death, so what I am talking about should be Xueqin's writings, Xueqin's will, not someone else's.But at present, ordinary readers still mistakenly think that the popular hundred and twenty chapters can "represent" Xueqin's true original intention, so there is always a conclusion of "Bao Dai's love tragedy" that is unbreakable in their hearts - but they don't know that this is not true. It is not Xueqin's original thoughts and pen and ink.It is true that there was love between Bao and Dai, and it was tragic afterwards, but it was far from the "transformation" in the forty chapters of Cheng Kanben's pseudo-continuation, not at all. .

Then, what is the conceptual layout and talent of Xueqin's original book?Let me give you a brief introduction.However, it must be stated first: Xueqin's original book was destroyed long ago after eighty chapters, and now it can only be deduced based on various clues.Deduction may not be accurate or realistic.But in any case, it is very different from the "model" of the pseudo-continuation, and it is completely different from black to white; no matter how imprecise, it is enough for reference, imagination, and thinking.So what I want to talk about is another realm of "Dream of Red Mansions", which is not at all similar to the long-held impression (deceived by false continuations).This is how the meaning of the title "Red Mansions" can be understood.

As for Xueqin's original realm, one must first take a look at the following key points:—— 1. Baoyu, the protagonist of the book, lives in "Yihong and Quick Green", which is simplified as the "Yihong" courtyard where the province is green and the red is left. Among them are "two plants of bananas and tangs", where the bananas are green and the tangs are red.Baoyu pointed out early on in the test that only the Jiaotang should be chanted at the same time in order to be regarded as beautiful.Later, when "sacrificing relatives", the five laws of Yihongyuan were inscribed in response to the order of the concubine Yuan, which is also the "green jade", "red makeup", "red sleeves" and "green smoke" that connect the first "two two" and "opposite" in Dongfeng. The righteousness is obvious when the confrontation is mentioned together.

2. Red symbolizes Shi Xiangyun, and green symbolizes Lin Daiyu.Daizhi's residence is a piece of green, and Xiang's wine and teeth, as well as many other hints, are all poetic allusions to Begonia. 3. Zhipi once clearly pointed out: Brother Yu, "The only one who is thick is the cloud".It means that the only ones who are closest to me in life are Shao'er and Xiangyun, and there are countless others.This sentence is the eyes of the whole book. 4. By the seventy-sixth chapter, the important key point of the Mid-Autumn Festival couplets, Chai has "exited" outside the garden, and only Daixiang is the protagonist. Watching the moon and reciting poems all night is extremely meaningful and extremely important.It is a key point in the layout of the book.

5. In the couplet, Miaoyu stopped me when I went to "crossing the crane shadow in the cold pond, and burying the soul of the flower in the cold moon".The crane shadow symbolizes Xiangyun, and the flower soul symbolizes Daiyu (the flower soul is seen in the original book. Cheng Ben changed the "poetry soul" arbitrarily, which completely missed the purpose).The two sentences tell their respective endings, which are predictive techniques (there are too many examples in Xueqin). 6. I have deduced that according to more than ten items of evidence in this book, Daiyu did not die of illness, but sank in water. That is to say, at this night and this place next year, due to various distant causes and near-effects, Daiyu could no longer continue to make ends meet. Throwing into the cold pond, the so-called "a generation of Qingcheng chasing the waves" (Dai Zhi's poem), also has a layer of hidden meaning.

7. It can be seen from this that Daiyu is the heroine in the first half of the film, is she the middle way and the jade? ?The flowers withered.Xiangyun is the heroine in the second half of her continuation. She is the only one who does not appear until the twentieth episode.It is a big idea in the whole book. Eighth, when I went to Luxuean to eat venison, Baoyu and Xiangyun were already the protagonists. Aunt Li specifically pointed out: "A brother with a jade and a sister with a golden unicorn"! ——This is the real marriage of gold and jade (the Xue family is fake gold). [The "gold and jade" section of the public case also has both true and false sides. For details, see my book "The Mystery of Gold and Jade", contained in "I Read a Dream of Red Mansions". ]

If you have understood the above eight points, you will naturally realize the ingenuity of Xueqin's original book. Xueqin's mind destroyed Xueqin's pen and ink. In this case, one thing is worth noting: that is, many records say that there is a "different version" or "true version" or "original" of "Dream of Red Mansions". After eighty chapters, it is completely different from the Cheng version that is popular today. Get married. Regarding this point, I have listed many pieces of information in my book "Xinzheng", and I have attached a deduction article.This meaning was also discussed in "Red Sea Microwave Record" (the first issue of "Red Mansion Dream Research Collection").There is also the relationship between this ending and Xiangyun's Bo Mingsi booklet and Quwen, which I have explained elsewhere.Due to space limitations, I will not repeat it.Later, Professor Jiang Liangfu of Hangzhou University passed on an extremely fascinating and precious clue (also included in "I Read A Dream of Red Mansions").I now quote this verse in its entirety, since it is not long, so as to spare the reader the trouble of searching for the whole thing:—

I read a manuscript of A Dream of Red Mansions, which said that Baoyu later became a watchman.One night, he crossed a bridge, took a rest on the bridge, and put a small lantern in his hand beside the bridge.At this time, there was a small boat under the bridge, and there were two women in the boat. One of them stuck out his head, saw the lantern, and said in surprise, "This is the night lantern of Rongguo Mansion!" Then he stuck out his head even more. Looking at the people on the bridge, he looked at them and asked, "Are you Brother Bao?" The person on the bridge replied, "Who are you?" The woman said, "I'm Xiangyun." Here?" Xiangyun said, "It's gone, it's gone! How can you be here?" Baoyu replied, "Everyone!" Xiangyun cried and said, "The Rongguo Mansion is all scattered, and there is no one who is not there. Suffering. You are a watchman, and I am a fisherwoman!" He invited Baoyu to disembark and talk.The other woman in the boat is Xiangyun's girl. "Now I only have this loyal servant girl following me!"

[Ru Chang's note: It must be Cui Ling. ] It turns out that Xiangyun has long been homeless.After talking for a while, Baoyu left in Xiangyun's boat, and he didn't know where he was going after that. ["I Read A Dream of Red Mansions" P260. The emphasis is added by me——Ru Chang] Mr. Jiang also said: "Dream of Red Mansions is also known as Stone Story, also known as Jin Yuyuan. This Xiangyun also has a gold unicorn on its body, hence the name." I’ve seen them all, so we talked about them together—Mr. Jiang read them when he was studying at Tsinghua University, but the library is not from Tsinghua University, but may be from Beiman Girls’ High School or Kongde School in Beijing. [Reported on February 5, 1980, written by Jiang Kunwu] I read Jiang Wen on July 13, 1982.I was very happy after reading it, because it completely coincides with the theme of my speculation (the true meaning of "gold and jade"), and the specific plot is as touching as it is, which no one can imagine or make up!

Mr. Jiang is a scholar with a cautious attitude, so the title refers to the manuscript he saw as a "sequel".As I said earlier, even if it is not Xueqin's lost manuscript, it can only come from his closest relatives and make up for him, because it is extremely difficult for outsiders to do so. Now, it's time for me to talk about how I understand the ins and outs of this story. It turns out that the story of this story is very subtle and obvious as early as the forty-fifth chapter-it can be described as a strange feeling and a strange writing, which is beyond the expectations of ordinary people!

Why do you say this?You read the book "Father and Rain Evening", the autumn rain is drenching, and Daiyu is sitting alone in the autumn window, and she is about to go to bed, when she suddenly reports: The second master Bao is here!This is beyond Daiyu's expectation!When Baoyu came in and looked at him, she saw that he was wearing a coir hat and wearing a wooden clog. She said with a smile at the first sentence: "Where did the fisherman come from!" When Baoyu was about to resign and said that she would give her a coir hat, she said again: "I don't want him! Put on that, and become a fisherman in paintings and dramas!" When Baoyu really left, she deliberately took out a lantern for Baoyu and asked him to hold it by himself. ——All of this, just looking at this chapter, is enough to be full of fun and picturesque, but I don't know that the author has another intention at the same time.Xueqin's brushwork is probably so wonderful.If you treat him like other novelists, and "one size fits all", things will naturally become indistinguishable and the same. At this point, readers may wonder: This is wrong!It was about Xiangyun, but it was Jing. Why did "Fumai" fall on Daiyu again? It should be noted that this is the special relationship between Xiang and Dai. That is to say, as I said, Xiangyun is Daiyu's successor, or is called a "stand-in". It secretly uses the allusion of "E Huang Nv Ying" as a metaphor.The character Qingwen is a "combined type" of the character types of Xiang and Dai, so when she is about to die, Haitang (the symbol of Xiang) will wither;For this reason, Xueqin skillfully predicted Xiangyun's ending in Daiyu's plot.This is not "wrong", but "right".Because such interrelationship is a special technique of Xueqin's original art. So, besides this, is there any other confirmation in Xueqin's book? some.Please re-read the sentences of Xiangyun and others in the couplets of Luxuean Xuetian.Xiangyun Xiandao is:—— "Wild Shore Back to Lonely Spear"; Baoyu later linked up and said: "The reeds are still fishing"; Xiangyun later linked up again: "Water floats in the pool"; "Poverty with a ladle"; "Boiled wine leaves are hard to burn". Before this, Xiangyun had another eye-catching sentence: "Flower edge through cold gathering". Please see, whether it is a lonely boat returning to the boat, fishing for reeds alone, or getting together in a romantic relationship, they all allude to Baoxiang's affairs.And the water floating in the pool refers to Daiyu's self-sinking.As for burning leaves in poverty, it was what Daiyu said when she laughed at Baoxiang and his wife for eating venison: "Where can I find this group of flowers!" This is exactly what Baoxiang and others said in the records "reduced to beggars" later!It's not a miracle that the tenons and joints are so close everywhere? What's particularly interesting is one more point: the word "fisherman", after seeing "Yuwenxi", also came to Luxuean this time, and this time I saw this word again:—— "(Baoyu)... put on a jade needle cape, put on a golden rattan hat, put on sandy clogs on the stool, and hurried to the Luxue Temple.... When all the maids saw him coming in capes and hats, they all laughed and said: 'We just said that one fisherman is missing, and now they are all gone!'..." You see, here, Xueqin specifically breaks down the "relationship" between Baoyu and the fisherman, how amazing it is--when we don't understand, it's all "casual writing"; exist.Xueqin will always be like this!At the end, I will quote another poem by Xiangling Yongyue for you to review and see if you have any new experience? —— "The essence is difficult to cover up the material, and the shadow is from the beauty and the soul is from the cold. A piece of anvil knocks thousands of miles of white, and half a round of chickens sings the five watch remnants. The green river goes to the autumn to hear the flute, and the head of the red-sleeved building leans against the balconies at night. If you win, Chang'e should ask: why? Will fate make us reunite forever?" This poem is very strange.The two sentences of the neck couplet must be related to what Feng Ziying said in the twenty-eighth chapter of the wine order: "the sound of chickens and the moon in Maodian", and the sixty-third chapter Daiyu said in the wine order: "Hazelnuts are not an anvil in the courtyard. The sound of household pounding clothes." This is related to many plots of their later joys and sorrows that we still don't know, and need to be explored step by step.In the two sentences of the abdominal couplet, the first sentence refers to Baoyu's clearing, and the second sentence refers to Xiangyun—didn't I just point out in the above: "The symbol of the crabapple hanging on the railing" is Xiangyun? Everything is so densely packed, boundless and misty, and the scenery is miserable and beautiful. It is really beyond the imagination of ordinary people. The wisdom and spirituality are amazing! Baoxiang's reunion on a fishing boat, is this the end of the book?I don't dare to say for sure yet. "Autumn Window and Wind and Rain" is the forty-fifth chapter of this book, numbered "fifth nine"; "Shouyi Hongqunfang holds a night banquet" is the sixty-third chapter, numbered "seven nine".It's all big. (Xueqin's unique structure method, every nine chapters is a big paragraph, and the whole book has twelve nine chapters, that is, one hundred and eight chapters.) Based on this, there seem to be two possibilities for Baoxiang's reunion: namely In the ninety-ninth chapter, the number "eleven nine"; or in the one hundred and eighth chapter, the number "twelve nine".But I still don't dare to say what this is, it's just my own speculative words for readers to judge.Speaking of this, this is what I mean by "Red Mansions". Our thinking, our "realm", our eyes and "heart light" must be in the long-standing "tragic ending" of Cheng Gao's pseudo-continuation.
