What we Chinese can proudly announce to the world is that since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, there have been many major disasters on our land.无私和高尚的精神,亦如“泰坦尼克”精神一样可歌可泣,感人事迹举不胜举。 “泰坦尼克”号精神,是人类高贵精神的碑。 “唐山”精神,以及中国人在种种灾难面前所表现的可贵精神,是中国人精神上的碑。 全人类真正的“贵族精神”万岁! 许多事,在中国都变得有点儿邪。 尽管如此,我觉得非虎的过错。对虎还是保持着三分敬意。 乃因——虎也是可以被驯来表演马戏的,但虎的表演不失起码的自尊。 对狗,我其实也是心怀敬意的。我敬军犬的忠诚,敬猎犬的勇敢,敬牧羊犬的“尽业”,敬“代目犬”对人的服务精神,敬看家犬的不卑不亢。甚至,敬野狗对自由的选择。我不喜欢的只有两类狗——宠物犬和马戏场上的表演犬。它们之间的区别不大。前者表演给少数人看,后者表演给众多的人看。狗一表演,就不太像狗了,像猴了。 猴嘴里被塞了糖,马戏场上的表现尤其乖。 熊也那样。 海狮更不例外。一条小鱼足以使它表演起来乐此不疲。 但没见过驯兽员在虎表演之前或之后,往虎嘴里塞东西。这方式对虎不灵。驯兽员迫虎表演,靠的是电棍和长鞭。你看虎表演,总不难看出它是多么的不情愿。 狗、猴、熊、海狮,都会为得到一口吃的而反复表演。 在马戏场上,虎也不得不表演。但虎绝不肯反复表演。吃的、电棍和长鞭,都不可能迫虎反复表演。 虎为生存而表演。 虎不至于为取悦而表演。 虎宁肯在笼子里,其实不情愿上表演场。 狗、猴、熊、海狮,却宁肯在表演场上按驯兽员的口令一遍遍不厌其烦地表演同一节目。那时它们嘴中有物嚼着,体会着区别于笼的快活。 而虎宁肯要笼中的自由。 我敬虎的不可彻底驯化的尊严。 据我想来,人与时代的关系,似也可将人与虎的关系来比。 时代也是不可被彻底驯化了像狗、像猴、像熊、像海狮那样完全按照人的示意反复为人进行表演的。 每一个时代都有它的虎气。 人的猴气一重,时代就张扬它本身的虎气。时代的虎气一旦强大于人庞具备的虎气,人就反而陷入了被迫表演的误区。中国目前的表演太多了。 “猛虎啸于前面不色变,泰山崩于后而不心惊”——虎年之中国人,或该开始蓄备如此定力? 历史对于一座城市,只不过是它的今天的背景。这背景的文化气息再浓重,其实也只说明着它的过去。并不完全能代表它的今天,更难以证明它的将来。倘它今天的公民,不珍借那一种背景,不善于继承,不思发展,甚至反其道面破坏之,摧毁之,借那宝贵的背景资源以谋眼前之私,以图急切之利,则它的今天,岂不恰恰等于是对它的昨天的反动吗?也许不到明天,它就会变成一座没文化可言的城市了。它的文化背景资源,必将如被任意破坏的自然资源一样,挥霍尽净。结果是今人负罪于古人及后人。 一座新兴的城市,在二十世纪的末时,并不需要十代人百年史才形成所谓文化的积淀。我们回顾人类的历史,不难发现一个共同的规律——原来凡工商发达之城,几乎必是文化繁荣之邦。 文明不但是养育文化的基础,而且本身便是一道使人心情愉快的城市文化的风景。 不文明的城市不可亲,哪怕它有处处宙迹和悠久的历史背景。 文明的城市即使是座新城,也会促使种种崭新的良好的文化生机盎然地发展和繁荣。 文化首先是供人享受的,使人在享受中获益。一座城市的文化举措,应首先以这座城市的最广大公民的最实际的文化享受为出发点,为前提。至于上级关注不关注,外地人怎么评说,倒是可以不必太在意的。 “克隆”一只绵羊其实并不怎么的足以令人震惊;“克隆人”实验也并不怎么的足以令人震惊。圈是人类还保持着为什么事震惊一下的本能,这一点使我惊喜地震惊了一下。 “克隆”并非从一只绵羊开始。而是从许多方面,几乎是一切方面,早就悄悄地开始着了。 “克隆”一只绵羊的是科学。 “克隆”一个国家的也是科学。 人类的价值观念正在一部分又一部分地变得越来越相似。 科学的飞跃和经济的高速发展加剧着这种“克隆”现象。 经济和科学正在使世界越来越共性化。个性化的事物越来越成为遗迹和国粹。成为国粹和遗迹的事物千篇一律地将统统被纳入旅游业也就是商业经营之一种——世界“克隆”现象之一种…… 在那个叫“大官”村的农村,两个农民所楔而不舍一争到底的,显然不仅仅是小小的村长之位吧?肯定还意味着更多些的什么吧?比如村人们对各自的信任程度,比如威望,比如面子,比如各自背后拥护者们的群体感奋或失落…… 中国农民的大多数,进言之,中国人民的大多数,其实践民主方式的水平,远非某些人士所把人忧天倾地估计得那么低。恰恰相反,他们实际上已表现出了较成熟的民主意识。只要诚心诚意地将民主奉还给他们,并得体地协助他们而不是操纵他们,他们也是能够实践得较为出色的。在这一点上,他们的成熟已经不成其为任何问题,倒是某些人士的叶公好龙是成问题的,滞后的。 “公仆”者,乃由人民所选为人民服务之人。在中国社会的广大基层,人民对此最有发言权。人民的识别力,远比上级的识别力要高。 人民之民主的权力越充分,人民越强大。人民强大了,伪“公仆”们就渺小了。人民强大了,人民就越来越成为国家的主人了。 “公仆”们才能真正复归到为人民服务者的本位。 如血的夕阳沉到地平线以下了,当广裹而苍凉的大草原夜幕降临时分,他们乘军车离开了军马场。回望着在视野中越来越远越来越模糊的营房和马厩,他想——它们也将成为这大草原上光荣与梦想的遗迹了。他想——他保存他“模范班长”的证书,一定要比大草原保存那遗迹更长久,更长久…… 残阳西坠,秃穆的崖头仿佛渐濒渗出血来。无名的季节河不情愿地流着。河边一株枯树上,栖着几只寂寞的乌鸦。它们呆望远处,望着一条曲折婉蜒的野路的尽头。如果那可以勉强算作一条路,则是不常出岭的岭内人和他们的牲口年复一年从荒地上踏出的。 这一种宣传,背后往往是一次精心的纯粹商业营销性质的策划。 对于当代人,服装的魅力是传统中有当代性。没有就会使当代人敬而远之。对于当代人,小说的魅力也许恰恰反过来,恰恰需要在当代性中有传统。没有当代人也是会敬而远之的。大多数当代人既不愿执锄地生活在传统观念中,其实也不愿非常激进地生活在种种时代的“先锋”观念中。往往习惯于生活在传统与“先锋”之间的“过渡带”。所以“当代”一词之于当代人,细细想来,必然是一个含糊的、暖昧的,定义不甚明确的词。 老故事和畅销书之间的关系,其实正意味着当代人和爱、和性、和家庭观念之间的尴尬——不求全新,亦不甘守旧。全新太耗精力。守旧太委屈自己。
