Chapter 28 Write well, the future is boundless——Preface to "Selected Essays for Middle School Students"

There are forty essays in the annual anthology of literary studies for middle school students, and I only read six of them, but I read each of them more than once. These exercises are selected from the literary works of middle school students across the country this year, and of course they are all good ones.As far as the six articles I have read, they all have very sincere and unique emotions and insights on the people, objects and situations described.I think that these young authors will have a bright future if they continue to write well on the basis of their existing writing skills. But as an old man who has written prose for most of my life, I should tell young authors the lessons of my failure in writing, and hope that they will avoid these stumbling blocks on the way forward!

First, avoid "casual" prose. When you are full of ideas, you must bite the point of the "person" or "thing" that makes you emotional, write around this point, and stop writing, and don't drift away from other things other than this point.Second, the use of words and sentences should also be in line with the real situation of the time and place. When describing the snow scene, don't blow the autumn wind. When admiring safflower, don't use the words "bright red and colorful purple".and so on. This is my personal opinion, what does the author think? June 28, 1986
