Chapter 247 Reminiscence of Spring Festival couplets

When I was in middle school, I went to school every day. From my home in Zhongjianzi Lane in Northeast City to Beiman Girls’ Middle School in Dengshikou, especially during the Spring Festival—then it was the New Year—around, I always saw shops and people on the side of the road. Spring Festival couplets pasted on the door. Most of the shop entrances say: "Business is booming all over the world, and wealth reaches Sanjiang." Love Jingguang" and the like! What I remember most is that at the turning point from the south entrance of Nanjianzi Lane to the Great Buddha Temple, there was a house with a door, and a pair of wooden couplets hung on both sides of the door:

Zhonglang Lvqi Taishi Huang Ting I think this couplet is very neat. There are not only the nicknames and official positions of the four celebrities and scholars, but also the deeds of the four celebrities who got their names.Yesterday, in order to clarify these stories, I checked "Ci Hai" on purpose. "Bachelor Qinglian" is of course referring to Li Bai, a scholar of Qinglian in the Tang Dynasty. "Shangshu Hongxing" refers to Shangshu Song Qi who became famous in the Song Dynasty for writing a sentence "the branches of red apricots are full of spring". "Zhonglang Lvqi" is a banana-tailed qin owned by Cai Yong Zhonglang in the Han Dynasty (the qin at that time was also called Lvqi).

"Taishi Huangting" refers to the "Dashang Huangting Interior Classic" written by Wang Xizhi of the Jin Dynasty. I also went into this house in the 1930s.Because it was the residence of Mr. Ren Shuyong and Mr. Chen Hengzhe at that time. We visited their house as a guest, and the house has several dimensions and is also very large. But who wrote this couplet, they don't know. February 18, 1985
