Fringe 张贤亮 407Words 2018-03-20
Although the creation of prints in the modern sense originated in Europe, China is actually the birthplace of woodcuts. Our ancestors once fully demonstrated the artistic talent of the Chinese nation in this art form, which is still praised by the world art history and has inspired generations of artists from all over the world. Now, contemporary Chinese printmakers have carried forward the fine traditions of their own nation, using their knives to depict the feelings and aspirations of Chinese people in modern society, and their strength and vision are far beyond the our ancestors. The exquisite prints displayed in front of the audience will definitely make everyone appreciate the bright, deep, delicate or rough artistic effects achieved by the stylus, and arouse resonance and trembling in people's hearts.

Ningxia is a tiny place and lies in the northwest, but the literary and artistic workers in Ningxia are never willing to lag behind.Today, art workers in Ningxia have accepted the commission of artists from all over the country to hold the "China's First Printmaking Exhibition".On the one hand, it is to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the "emerging woodcut movement" created by Mr. Lu Xun, and more importantly, to make the art of woodcut alongside painting and sculpture reach the peak level of this century, thereby promoting a new era of Chinese art as a whole. Here, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the units and individuals who supported this print exhibition!
