Chapter 19 Part Eighteen

Say the Analects of Confucius 贾志刚 8681Words 2018-03-20
The tenth chapter of the original text "Xiangdang" is the most standardized chapter in the whole volume. It is completely used to talk about Confucius's dealings with people, behavior, living habits, etc. There is no dialogue in the whole chapter, and the protagonist is Confucius. Confucius' living habits are relatively regular, and he is strict and respectful in everything. Although he may not be likable, he must not be annoying.Confucius was very particular about food and clothing. It could be said that he was a bit picky. Maybe it was cleanliness. Generally speaking, Confucius lived a more sophisticated life, which belonged to the lifestyle of the rich.Yan Zi said that Confucius liked red tape, and it seems that there is nothing wrong with it.

Confucius has many good habits that are worth learning, but there are also many things that are outdated, even at that time. For these, it is enough to know, and it doesn’t matter if you don’t understand them. In addition to the tenth chapter, there are also some records of Confucius' treatment of people and things scattered in other chapters, which are explained here together. Zi Zhi Yan Ju, Shen Shen Ru Ye, Yao Yao Ru Ye. When Confucius lived at home, his demeanor was gentle and comfortable, and he was at ease. When you go to work, you sit upright and serious, and when you get off work, you relax.Confucius was also a human being, and he couldn't stand being so tense.

Some people put on airs when they go to work, and still hold on to airs after work, thinking that they are some kind of great person, such a person, everyone hates him. The child eats at the side of the mourner, and he is not full.The son cried every day, but he didn't sing. Confucius ate next to people in mourning, and never got full.If Confucius had cried for the dead that day, he would not have sung. Confucius attached great importance to funerals and strictly demanded himself in this regard.On the one hand, this is Confucius' rigorous character; on the other hand, this is Confucius' professional habits.

When eating with the bereaved, try not to overeat, otherwise belching or farting is disrespectful; after attending a funeral or something, don't show happiness in front of the bereaved. What the child should be careful about: Qi, war, and disease. The three things Confucius took prudence about were fasting, war, and disease. Qi, Tongzhai, means fasting.Ghosts and gods, ancestors, life and death, and disease are all things that Confucius respected and valued very much, and he must not be careless.From beginning to end, Confucius was a pacifist. People must always be in awe, otherwise there will be no bottom line for doing bad things.Nowadays, they are all atheists, and they don't worship their ancestors, so what are they in awe of?I didn't think about it.

The son fishes but not the key, and the yi does not shoot. Confucius only fished with a fishing rod (with one hook), not with a big line (with many hooks).Only shoot birds in flight, not birds resting in their nests. In fact, there is essentially no difference between fishing with a fishing rod with only one hook and fishing with a net, and shooting only arrows at birds in flight or birds in their nests.What Confucius did was just to express his benevolence.Of course, on the other hand, this is also a resource protection approach.In fact, since the Shang Dynasty, there has been a concept of resource protection, and the hunting of animals is particular, and young animals are generally not allowed to be killed.The purpose of not shooting the nest bird is to avoid harming the young or the eggs.

Exhausting resources for fishing, over-exploitation, this is the reality. It is difficult to talk to each other, the boy sees, and the disciples are confused.The Master said: "It's better to advance than to retreat, so why? People cleanse themselves to advance, rather than to be clean, not to keep their past." (Confucius thinks) It is difficult to talk to people in Hu Township, but a boy in Hu Township was received by Confucius, and the students were puzzled.Confucius said: "I affirm his progress, not his retrogression. Why go too far? People correct their mistakes in order to improve, we affirm that they correct their mistakes, and don't cling to their past."

The meaning of this passage is what Confucius said to Zizhang, "Don't follow the traces", don't always cling to other people's past things, but see progress and affirm progress.If the attitude with the neighbors is always like this, how can the relationship between the neighbors be bad? Mr. Li Ling thinks that it is difficult for people in Huxiang to speak, which is a little unreasonable, so the sentence should be broken into "Huxiang is difficult to meet Yan Tongzi", which is also reasonable, but such a sentence feels abrupt and blunt, so it was not adopted.

The government sees the positive side of the people, and the people see the progressive side of the government, and the relationship between the two parties can be improved.If the government treats the people as a mob, and the people think that all the government's policies and decisions are malicious, then it will be very troublesome. If you are good at singing with others, you must make the opposite, and then reconcile it. Confucius sang with others. If this person sang well, be sure to ask him to sing again, and then sing with him. If others sing well, learn from others. This is the learning spirit of Confucius.And this kind of thing often gives the other party a sense of accomplishment, so everyone is very happy, and they also learned good songs and made friends.

When singing karaoke, this is Maiba behavior. Zi is gentle and fierce, mighty but not fierce, respectful and peaceful. Confucius was gentle but strict, majestic but not fierce, solemn and serene. Teacher Kong is strict but patient with the students. He is majestic but never hits anyone. Even if he gets angry, he is very graceful and will never lose his composure. The teacher must be majestic to the students without making the students afraid of themselves. You can reprimand but don't scold others, you can look fierce but don't do anything. The son sees those who are in decline, those who are crowned with clothes, and those who are blind. If you see them, even if they are few, you must do them;

When Confucius met people in mourning, officials and blind people, even if they were young, he must stand up, and when passing in front of them, he must walk quickly. Confucius was very familiar with Zhou etiquette. He knew what kind of etiquette he should do to whomever he met. He should treat honorable people, those in mourning, and the blind with courtesy.In addition, this is also the professional habit of Confucius. All should be treated politely. Confucius in the Xiangdang, Xun Xun Ru also, seems to be unable to speak.When he was in the imperial court of the ancestral temple, he just said that he is only sincere.

Confucius was very gentle and respectful in his hometown, as if he couldn't speak.But in the ancestral temple and the court, he was very good at speaking, but he spoke more cautiously. Why is it very dull to talk to the villagers?Because there is no common language, oil, salt, soy sauce and vinegar are not things that Confucius likes to mention, and Confucius likes to talk about poetry and etiquette, and everyone is not interested; it is different in the Jongmyo court, everyone has a common language, and Confucius is an expert, so the words A little more, but everyone's status is relatively high, so Confucius is more cautious in speaking. Most experts and scholars are like this. In the court, talk to the next doctor, just like talking; talk to the upper doctor, just like talking.When the king is here, it is as if you are walking around, and as you are with each other. When Confucius was in the court, he talked with the lower officials and talked eloquently; when he talked with the upper officials, he was cautious; when the monarch had already arrived, he looked respectful and disturbed, but his manners were moderate. Is this the time when Confucius was the Sikou?Or after returning to Lu State?It seems that it should be the time to be a Sikou.At this time, Confucius was at the top doctor level, so it was very relaxing to talk to the next doctor, and the top doctors were all more senior than Confucius, so Confucius had to be cautious.The monarch is the immediate boss, so Confucius was very nervous. Basically, it is the same now. It is more casual to speak to subordinates, and the same level is much more polite. If it is an official of the same level with a background, it is even more polite, and it is half a level higher than oneself.In front of the immediate boss, he will be very cautious and careful. The king summons the envoy to drive away, the color is as bright as it is, and the feet are like it.Standing with a bow, left and right hands, front and back of clothes, all in the same way.Going forward, like wings.When the guest retreats, he will be ordered to say: "I don't care about the guest." The king summoned Confucius to receive the guests, and Confucius immediately became solemn and his steps quickened. He bowed to the people standing with him, his hands turned to the left or right, and his clothes swung back and forth, but they were neat and uncluttered.When walking briskly, like a bird spreading its wings.After the guests leave, they must report to the monarch: "The guests have stopped looking back." Confucius was proficient in Zhou etiquette, so the monarch often asked him to be the master of ceremonies when entertaining foreign guests.Confucius was very careful when he was the master of ceremonies, his movements were very light and his voice was very low, so as not to affect the atmosphere.Until the guests are finally sent away, and then report to the monarch, the task is considered completed. When entertaining guests, you must be considerate and don't be rude. You would rather trouble yourself than make the guests feel uncomfortable. Entering the public door, bow as if you are, and if you don't tolerate it.If you can't stand at the door, you can't walk through the threshold.Exceeding the position, the color is as full as it is, the foot is as good as it is, and its words seem to be insufficient.Take pictures of Qi Shengtang, bow like you are, and hold your breath like you are endless.Come out, drop a class, show off your color, and be as happy as you are.There is no step, and the trend is like a wing.Restoring his position is like walking around. Confucius walked into the gate of the court with a cautious and respectful look, as if there was no room for him.Standing, he does not stand in the middle of the door; walking, he does not step on the threshold.When he passed the monarch's seat, his face immediately became solemn, his steps quickened, and he seemed to be out of breath when speaking.When he lifted the hem of his clothes and walked towards the hall, he looked respectful and cautious, holding his breath as if he was not breathing.After exiting and walking down the steps, his face relaxed, looking contented.After walking the steps, take a few steps forward quickly, like a bird spreading its wings.Returning to his position, he looked respectful and uneasy. The reason for not stepping on the threshold is to look stable when walking.In short, when you go to meet the king, you should walk lightly, breathe lightly, and speak lightly.There is no way, Confucius climbed up from the bottom, he was very humble since he was a child, and he was really nervous when he saw a big man. It is also a tradition to be nervous when meeting a leader. Zhigui, bow like you are, like invincible.The top is like bowing, and the bottom is like teaching.Boom like a battle, full of feet, as if there is something to follow.Enjoy the gift and have a look.Private face-to-face, happy as well. Confucius offered gifts to the monarchs of other countries, holding the gui, respectful and cautious, as if he could not lift it up.When it is lifted up, it seems to be bowing, and when it is placed below, it seems to be handing something to someone.His face was solemn as if trembling, and his steps were very small, as if walking forward in a straight line.Appear pleasing when presenting gifts.It is more relaxed and pleasant when holding a private meeting with the monarch. In short, when meeting important people, be nervous and cautious; in public, be nervous and cautious. Now that society is much more equal, don't be so nervous. A gentleman is not decorated with cyanosis, and red and purple are not considered underwear.When it's hot, it must be displayed.Black clothes, lamb fur; plain clothes, deer fur; yellow clothes, fox fur.The obscene fur is long and the right sleeve is short.There must be pajamas, which are half the length of the body.Foxes and raccoons are thick enough to live in.Go to a funeral and admire everything.If it is not a curtain, it must be killed.The lamb Qiuxuan crown is not hanging.Auspicious month, must obey and go to court. Gentlemen don't use dark blue and red or black and red cloth borders, and don't use red or purple cloth for clothes they usually wear at home.Wear thick or thin Gebu singles in summer, but they must be worn outside underwear.A black lambskin gown with a black smock.A white buckskin robe with a white smock.Yellow fox fur gown with yellow smock.The leather robe usually worn at home is made longer, and the sleeve on the right is shorter.You must have pajamas for sleeping, and they must be one and a half long.Use the thick fur of fox raccoon dogs as cushions.After the mourning clothes expired, after taking off the mourning clothes, they put on various decorations.If it's not a dress, be sure to cut it.Do not wear black lambskin robes and black hats to mourning.On the first day of every month, you must wear a dress to worship the monarch. Dressing is also very particular, which seems to be a special study of Confucius, and it is also a professional habit.It seems that Confucius prefers black and white.Of course, without money, nothing can be done.At the beginning, Yan Ying hated Confucius very much. Modern people don't pay much attention to it, and it's really meaningless to spend too much energy on it.Of course, the goddaughters who can’t handle the second generation of officials, the rich second generation and the rich and powerful have plenty of money, such as black silk dick belts, short skirts, LV, Hermes, and Chanel. I guess the old master will read it for a while Get mad. Qi, there must be bright clothes and cloth.Qi must change food, and residence must move. When fasting and bathing, you must have a bathrobe, made of cloth.When fasting, you must change your usual diet, and you must move your place of residence (not having sex with wives and concubines). This particularity makes sense, there are bathrobes for bathing.Don’t have sex with his wives and concubines when fasting, Confucius has been divorced long ago, and I have never heard of him taking concubines, so Confucius did it without doing it. If you have money, you can wear famous brands. If you have less money, you can buy clothes during the big sales.Usually eat too much seafood, you can also eat vegetarian. I never tire of fine food, and I never tire of fine food.If you eat fish, you will eat it, if you eat fish, you will lose your meat, and you will not eat it.Lust is evil, do not eat.Smelly, do not eat.Lost cooking, not eating.From time to time, don't eat, don't cut right, don't eat.If you don't get the sauce, don't eat it.Although there is a lot of meat, it does not make Shengshi angry.But there is no limit to wine, not chaos.Buy wine and sell dried meat, but don't eat it.Do not withdraw ginger food, do not eat too much. The grain is not too finely pounded, and the fish and meat are not too finely chopped.The food is stale and tasteless, and the fish and meat are rotten, so they don't eat them.The color of the food has changed, do not eat.The smell has changed, do not eat.Improperly cooked, do not eat.From time to time something new, do not eat.If the meat is not cut squarely, don't eat it.If the seasoning is not properly placed, don't eat it.Although there is a lot of meat on the table, the amount eaten does not exceed the amount of rice noodles.Only alcohol is not restricted, but not drunk.Don't eat dried meat and wine bought from the market.Every meal must have ginger, but not too much. Generally speaking, Teacher Kong's financial resources are still good. Don't eat gutter oil, don't drink melamine milk powder, don't eat genetically modified food, don't eat clenbuterol pork.However, there is no way to guard against it. If he is alive now, Teacher Kong probably has no way out. Sacrifice to the public, do not sleep with meat, and sacrifice meat for three days.Go out for three days without eating. The meat that Confucius got when he participated in the king's sacrificial ceremony could not be kept until the next day.The meat used in the sacrifice does not exceed three days.More than three days, do not eat. Sacrifice is usually held in autumn and winter, so the sacrificial meat can be stored for three days, but if it is summer, it will be spoiled after one day. The meat should be stored in the refrigerator, if it is spoiled, you can't take it. Eating without speaking, sleeping without speaking. Don't talk when you eat, don't talk when you sleep. It is right not to speak while eating. Talking at the dinner table will cause saliva to fly around, which is unsightly and unhygienic. If it's a meal with friends, it's boring not to talk.Speaking of it, the Western approach is better, that is, the meal sharing system, and you will not fly your own spit onto other people's plates when you speak.Therefore, it doesn’t matter if you eat and talk, the key is not to stick your head on the table, don’t yell, it’s best if you can share meals.It's not good to talk while sleeping, but it's okay to say a few words now and then. Although vegetable soup and melon sacrifices are sparsely eaten, they must be the same. Even if it is thick rice and vegetable soup, some of them should be taken out to worship the ancestors before eating, and the expression should be as serious and respectful as when fasting. Westerners also thank God before eating, which roughly means this. Who to thank now? The seat is not upright, do not sit. The mat is not placed properly, so I can't sit on it. Teacher Kong is more particular. Usually, if the mat is not correct, he will correct it. The buttocks are not afraid of crooked mats. When the villagers drink, the sticks come out, so they come out. After drinking with the villagers, Confucius must wait for the old people to go out first, and then go out by himself. Confucius respected the elderly and put the elderly first in everything.In foreign countries, women go first, and Confucius did not drink with women at that time. Respecting the elderly is a virtue of the Chinese nation. Nuo, a native of the country, stands on the steps of the temple in court clothes. When villagers held religious ceremonies to welcome gods and exorcise ghosts, Confucius always stood on the east steps of his family temple in court clothes. Why did Confucius do this?Because he was afraid that the ghosts would disturb the ancestors, Confucius stood at the gate of the family temple to protect him, which was really thoughtful.Did Confucius have a family temple in the State of Lu?Analyze it. At the beginning, Kong Fujia, the ancestor of Confucius, was killed in Song State, and Kong Fujia's son fled to Lu State.According to the international rules on political asylum at that time, political asylum seekers enjoy a level of treatment lower than that of their original countries.Kong Fujia was the Sima of the Song Dynasty and belonged to the Qing level.If Sima was hereditary from the Kong family, Kong Fujia's son should also be treated as a Qing, and if he is lowered, he will be a doctor.A doctor can have a family temple, so it is not surprising that Confucius had a family temple. If one's own ancestors do not respect themselves, how can others respect them?They only know how to sell their ancestors as cultural relics, and only know how to dig their graves to make money. What do such descendants want them to do? Ask people in other countries, and send them off after paying homage. (Confucius) When the trustee greets and gives gifts to friends in other countries, he bows twice to the trustee to see him off. Why goodbye?One obeisance is begging, another obeisance is conveyance.In other words, the first obeisance is to thank the speaker, and the second obeisance is to bring this obeisance to a friend.Just like giving gifts to someone, prepare two gifts, one for a friend and one for the entrusted person. People do not blame. Kangzi offered the medicine, worshiped and accepted it.Said: "Qiu Weida, dare not taste." Ji Kangzi presented medicine to Confucius, and Confucius accepted it after thanking him, saying: "I don't know the properties of medicine, so I dare not taste it." During the Spring and Autumn Period, when the leaders gave something as a gift, they would look at it and praise it on the spot. If it was food, they would taste it on the spot and say it was delicious.But this time the gift is medicine, which is related to health, so be cautious, even if it is given by the leader, you must be cautious. From another point of view, Ji Kangzi delivered the medicine, which showed that he cared about the old man. When accepting a gift, be sure to express surprise and thanks, preferably opening it on the spot.Of course, there is no need to open or try things like medicine or condoms on the spot. The stables were burned.Zi retreated to the court and said, "Does it hurt people?" Don't ask the horse. The stable caught fire and burned down.Confucius returned from the court and said, "Did you hurt someone?" He didn't ask how the horse was. Teacher Kong puts people first, and believes that the safety of people is incomparable to horses.In addition, Teacher Kong believes that the safety of human life is the first priority, and who is responsible for it is the second. Are the heroic deeds of heroic sacrifices in order to save property in line with Confucius' values?Is it worth promoting? When you give food, you must taste it first at the banquet.If you give fishy fish, you must be familiar with it and recommend it.If you give life to you, you must breed it.Serving food to the king, offering sacrifices to the king, and eating first. When the monarch gave cooked food, Confucius must sit down and taste it first.When the king bestows raw meat, it must be cooked and offered to the ancestors first.When the king bestows living creatures, they must be reared.When eating with the monarch, you must taste it first when the monarch holds a pre-meal sacrifice. If given by the top leader, it should be opened on the spot, and it should be opened in a very formal way, and then taste it, saying "wow, it's delicious" and so on.If it is raw meat, of course, it should be offered to the ancestors first after it is cooked. It shows that you are living a good life, and the leader treats you well, so please rest assured.Before eating with the monarch, someone has to taste it first, and the monarch will eat it.When Confucius had a meal with the monarch, he took the initiative to taste it, showing his compliance with the etiquette. Not so much nowadays, but if you have dinner with the boss, if the boss doesn’t move your chopsticks, don’t try it. Illness, you look at it, head east, add court clothes, and drag the gentry. Confucius was ill, and the king came to visit him, so he lay his head facing east, covered his body with court clothes, and dragged a large belt. Confucius fell ill and was lying on the bed. When the king came to visit him, he couldn't get up and put on the court clothes. This seemed to disrespect the king and violated etiquette.This reflects that Confucius would not be rude to the king even when he was on the sick bed. Nothing to say. The king orders you to call, and you don't wait until you drive. The monarch summoned (Confucius), and he walked away on foot without waiting for the chariot and horses to drive. This is a gesture, no matter how fast you walk, it is still not as fast as a carriage. Nothing to say. When entering the Taimiao, ask about everything. Reprinted with 2.9 (3.15). When a friend dies and has nowhere to return, he says, "For my funeral." (Confucius's) friend died, and no relatives were responsible for burying him. Confucius said, "Let me handle the funeral." This reflects two facts. First, Confucius was a very righteous man, and he was willing to help his friend when he died.For ordinary people, they are not willing to touch the dead, but Confucius is willing, why?Because Confucius respected ghosts and gods, he believed that the dead were more worthy of awe.Secondly, the matter of the dead was commonplace for Confucius. He was very knowledgeable and even enjoyed it a little. Are things like this now handled by the Civil Affairs Bureau? A gift from a friend, although it is a chariot and horse, it is not a sacrifice of meat, and it is not worshiped. Gifts from friends, even chariots and horses, but not sacrificial meat (Confucius accepted it) were not worshiped. Confucius regarded sacrificial meat as more important than chariots and horses. Why?Because sacrificial meat is related to the issues of "loyalty" and "filial piety".After sacrificing meat to ancestors, this piece of meat is not just an edible thing, but a carrier of filial piety to ancestors. Of course, cars are much more expensive than bacon. Between cars and meat, cars are still the choice. No dead body, no guest. (Confucius) Sleeping is not like a dead body facing up to the sky, and the daily home is not as solemn and solemn as when you are a guest or receiving guests. According to scientific research, lying on the back and lying on the side are both correct ways of sleeping. Generally, gentle people like to lie on their side, and stout people like to lie on their back. Confucius was a gentleman, so he likes to lie on his side rather than on his back. How comfortable and how to sleep. Those who see the decline of Qi will change even though they are in love.Those who see the crown and the blind, although obscene, must look at their appearance.Those who take the fierce clothes are like it.Type negative version.If there is a feast, it must be made with a change of color.Thunder and wind will change. (Confucius) When seeing people wearing mourning clothes, even if they are very close, they must become serious.When you see officials and blind people, even if they are often together, you must be polite.When you meet a person in mourning while riding in a car, you will prostrate yourself on the crossbar in front of the car (to show sympathy).Do the same (to show respect) when you meet someone who bears the national chart. (When being a guest) If there is a rich feast, the look will change and stand up to thank you.When encountering a thunderous gale, one must change his expression (to show awe of heaven). Still the same, Confucius paid attention to Zhou etiquette, which is also a professional habit.However, the usual explanation for the term negative version is that it bears national records.Therefore, there must be a correct statement, but we have not found it now.As for the thunder and wind will change, it is Confucius who wants to express his awe of heaven. It is not easy to meet different people with different expressions and attitudes. When raising a car, one must stand upright and hold on to Sui.In the car, don't look inside, don't speak out, don't point fingers. When getting on the bus, you must stand upright first, and then pull the handrail to get on the bus.In the car, don't turn your head, don't speak loudly, and don't point your fingers. Do everything well, carefully, and gracefully. Some local wealthy upstarts, after having money, are domineering, pointing, shouting and shouting, for fear that others will not know that they have money. Sesi lifted up, flew and then gathered.Said: "The female pheasant on the mountain ridge, what time is the time!" Zilu shared it, and made it three times. (Confucius and his disciples) looked solemn, leaned their upper body slightly forward, and walked slowly with their arms outstretched, gathering at the sacrificial place. (Confucius said): "It's time to offer the pheasant on the mountain ridge." Zilu put the pheasant on the place where the offerings were placed, and (everyone) knelt and kowtowed three times, then stood up. The interpretation of this passage has always been very vague, and there are also different interpretations.The general saying goes like this: Confucius was walking in the valley and saw a group of pheasants flying there. Confucius' expression moved a little, and the pheasants flew for a while and landed on a tree.Confucius said: "These pheasants on the mountain ridges are at the right time! They are at the right time!" Zilu bowed his hands to them, and the pheasants blew a few times and flew away. This common saying is vague, unintelligible, and far-fetched.It is a pity that for thousands of years, it has been muddled like this. We have noticed that the entire tenth chapter is about Confucius' life rules and how to treat people and things, but this chapter suddenly jumps out to talk about pheasants. Isn't it strange?Therefore, this passage is still about a practice of Confucius in life.What to do?Sacrifice. This is the procedure and scene of Confucius and his disciples offering sacrifices to the mountain god on the hillside. The sacrifice is a pheasant. Let's take a look at it in detail. Xiang, is the meaning of Xiang trend.Xiang trend is a kind of etiquette in ancient times.Lean your upper body forward slightly, and walk with your arms outstretched.Total means offering and enshrining.Sniff means kowtow, which means a dog sniffs, that is, the nose touches the ground.From this point of view, this should be a sacrifice to the mountain god, and touching the nose to the ground shows respect for the mountain god. "And make" is to stand up, and in the front (10.25) there is "there is a feast, and you must change your color and do it." The sacrifices in the wild are actually similar to donkey friends, but they are more connotative and friendly than donkey friends.Most donkey friends nowadays only know how to go around, like donkeys, they have no purpose, no cultural connotation, just to catch up with fashion or release excess energy.In fact, it might as well add some sacrificial content and more cultural connotations, which can attract more people and have richer topics. When Master Mian saw the steps, the Master said: "The steps." As for the seats, the Master said: "The seats." When they were all seated, the Master told them, "Someone is here, and so is here." Master Mian came out, and Zi Zhang Asked: "Talk to the teacher, is the way the same?" The master said: "Yes. The way of the teacher is solid." The musician Mian came to see Confucius, walked to the edge of the steps, Confucius said: "Here is the steps." When he walked to the seat, Confucius said: "This is the seat." When everyone sat down, Confucius told him: "So-and-so is here, So-and-so is here." After Master Mian left, Zizhang asked Confucius, "Is this the way to talk to a musician?" Confucius said, "This is the way to help a musician." Some people must say why Confucius is so talkative, it's because you don't know that all musicians are blind.Confucius' tips are to help musicians walk, sit, and understand the people around them. Confucius is a very thoughtful person with a strong sense of service.Although sometimes it seems cumbersome, more often it makes people feel very comfortable and caring. In the Zhou Dynasty, certain occupations were exclusively performed by disabled people, for example, musicians were basically blind.Why this arrangement?Because people with bad eyes must have good ears.For another example, gatekeepers are generally lame or broken legs, in short, people who are not comfortable with their feet. Why is this arrangement?Because the gatekeepers are required to stay there all the time, those with good legs and feet often walk around and look around, those with poor legs and feet would rather stay still, and would rather hold back for a while when they urinate and defecate. Nowadays, blind people don't work as musicians anymore, and more people do massage, because the eyesight is not good, but the feeling of the hands is good.There are many ways to help the blind, and the most common ones are blind roads in cities. However, many blind roads are occupied, and these are all failures to study hard. Ru Bei wanted to see Confucius, but Confucius said he was ill.Those who will be ordered to go out of the house, take a harp and sing, so that they can hear it. Ru Bei wanted to see Confucius, but Confucius refused to see him because he was sick.As soon as the messenger went out, Confucius took the zither and played and sang, intending for Ru Bei to hear it. The literal meaning of this passage is very simple, needless to say.But what is the context of this passage?Why did Confucius do this?There has never been a reasonable explanation. First let's see who Ru Bei is?There is no explanation in history. The only record about Rubei is in the "Book of Rites · Miscellaneous Records 2" "Supporting You's Funeral, mourning for the Duke and making Rubei the funeral of Confucius and scholars, and the "Scholar's Funeral Rites" is a book." From this, it can be roughly It was deduced that Ru Bei should be someone close to Duke Ai of Lu, and although Confucius did not see him this time, he still met him or met him after all. So, why did Confucius not see him, and deliberately let him know?Judging from the position of this passage in the middle, it is all about people or things that Confucius hates. Therefore, it can be simply inferred that Ru Bei is someone Confucius despises very much.So, why did Confucius look down on Ru Bei? Confucius said: "Repay kindness with kindness, and repay grievances with straightness." It means, how you treat me, I will treat you.And this paragraph should be Confucius's "repaying grievances directly". A reasonable explanation is this. Confucius went to visit Duke Ai of Lu, and Duke Ai of Lu was ready to have fun, so he sent Ru Bei out to tell Confucius that the Lord was ill, please come back another day.Before Confucius could turn around, there was the sound of singing and dancing in the palace, and Duke Ai of Lu was obviously not sick.Confucius was very annoyed, but he couldn't put the blame on Duke Ai of Lu, so he put it on Ru Bei. This time, Ru Bei came.Confucius saw it, didn't you fool me last time, you little bastard?This time, I will take the medicine according to the prescription and report my grievances directly. I will humiliate you in the same way.So, this story happened. How you treat others is how others treat you.
