Chapter 23 Difficult Initiation - Women

Women are all law-abiding, and in K's eyes, they are all stunners. They lure K, implying to him that he can be forgiven by the law through their dealings, thus prompting K to fool around with them in order to commit further crimes and get deeper in the mud pit. They were for K and for K's sake (except Ms. Bi); their legal knowledge made them very contradictory, and in the end they couldn't help K at all.In their relationship with K, K always showed his nasty and shameless side, just wanted to take advantage and use them, and they opened a tender net to lure him in.The women muddled along and only wanted to be a medium between Fa and K, maintaining a short-term relationship with K.In other words, the women are under the domination of the law to make K aware of the law when he commits a crime.Whenever K broke the law, they disappeared, as if they had fulfilled their historical mission. In K's eyes, they all resemble fairies.Whenever one of them appeared, K was immediately attracted to her, on the one hand out of amorous nature, but mainly because he saw in them the possibility of establishing an indirect connection with Fa.Unknowingly, K has indeed established an indirect relationship with Fa through these women. This relationship has nothing to do with his own optimistic prediction, but only manifests as a constant fall in front of Fa. The figure of Miss Bistner seen by K. before his death, and his pursuit of this phantom, put an end to this symbol.

What is K's life?Leaving aside the work in the bank, all that remained was the relationship with the women. After he was arrested, this relationship also changed subtly.Gone was the carefree and easy relationship with his former lover, Elsa, and the several women he had been with since then struck him as dangerous and unreliable. He became more and more unsure, didn't know how to look at his behavior, and felt a sense of shame in his heart, and the rational consciousness that finally exploded was the result of the accumulation of these shames. Whenever K encountered difficulties, he would think of asking women for help, and those women did give him some superficial and small help, at least at the time, which calmed his restless heart. It's just that the consequences of these help are contrary to what K expected. K verified again and again what the help meant to him, and the next time he fell into the same trap again. No one is better than K at summing up experience and lessons in a timely manner, but his current situation has not changed in the slightest. While summing up, he commits the same crime again. This is a strange circle.

The barrister's nurse, Lenny, was still thinking about K at the last moment, so she called K and exclaimed, "They (law) are pushing you so hard." It was this passionate Lenny who fell in love with K. The woman tried unsuccessfully to prevent K from trampling on the dignity of the law, but now she witnessed K's arrest helplessly, so she converted to the side of the law.It cannot be said that Leni does not love K enough. Of course she loves this charming defendant. In her eyes, all the defendants are attractive, and K is more attractive to her than others. But Lenny is serving the barrister and has a close relationship with the law.The barrister instructs her to hang out with K, and keeps K around him so that he can contact him at any time and educate K.But K has a different idea. He is eager for quick success and wants to make visible progress in his case.So by accident, Lenny angered K instead. In this way, K walked towards the execution ground half-awake and half-confused, and the ending was bound to be lonely, and everything related to life disappeared at the gate of the execution ground.

K's relationship with women also has another meaning, that is, K wants to take revenge on the law (or law enforcement officers) by having sex with them. This is a kind of naughty and mischievous psychology. From time to time, K has an illusion that having a woman who once belonged to the law means that he has some kind of capital to bargain with the law.He does not know or is unwilling to know that women do not belong to him, on the contrary, they can only belong to the law forever. The purpose of retaliation is still to have a relationship with the law. K's impulsive actions had no effect, Fa never appeared, and he was allowed to swim around like a fish in a net.For example, after K molested Ms. Bi, he went to bed. He reflected on his behavior and was both satisfied and a little dissatisfied. What is satisfactory is that he can ignore the morning affairs and still do whatever he likes as before. A large part of his molestation to Miss Bi is revenge for the humiliation he suffered in the morning. Why is he a little dissatisfied?Just because of the captain sleeping in the living room?In the final analysis, it is because Miss Bi's heart still does not belong to him (it is possible to fool around with the captain). She was cold, didn't give K any hints, and was a little disgusted with K's excessive behavior. And what was worse, not included in K's dissatisfaction with himself, was that his guilt was aggravated.
