Chapter 38 Make good use of your heart, every day is spring (36)

Walking on a country road, I often can't help but look at Ririchun, which grows in the wild or in the corner. This kind of pink flower, also known as "Changchunhua" and "Daily New", is not surprising in appearance, and it is never absent for 365 days a year.Such an ordinary flower makes people moved. How can there be a kind of flower that can bloom every day regardless of rain, cold or heat?Which kind of practice can be persevered every day regardless of whether it is good or bad, sad or happy? I recently re-read The Sound of Silence, a little book I like very much. The book describes how Catholic monks respond to changes in the outside world and sublimate their hearts at different times of the day.

Life is impermanent and time is running fast. When ordinary people are idly living their days, monks guide their hearts to eternal love and silence through prayers in the light and shadow shifting of natural energy and time sequence shifting.Every time I read it, I always have a different experience. Similar to "The Sound of Silence" is the Buddhist "Avatamsaka Sutra·Pure Practice".The classic Zhongshu Bodhisattva teaches practitioners the method of "mindfulness": starting from waking up in the morning, walking, dressing, eating, going to the toilet, going out, going upstairs, bathing, going to bed, etc., every moment should make a good wish— ─May all living beings stay away from troubles and move towards the light.

When we look back at our hearts and offer our sincere blessings to all beings, our hearts are compassionate and soft, and awakened wisdom arises. This kind of practice seems ordinary, but it has a kind of penetrating power, which makes the lofty religious ideals become a part of life.Cultivation is no longer a specific behavior in a specific time and space, but a present ongoing process that happens all the time.Just like the day-by-day spring in the corner, flowers bloom continuously in all seasons. The epilogue of "The Voice of Lonely" reads: "The meaning of the hour is that we live according to the 'true' rhythm of the day: living actively, consciously, focusing on our lives, knowing our lives from the inside, not We are moved by the demands of the clock, the external program, or the reaction of going with the flow. Only by living in the real rhythm, we become more real." If we want our practice to be "spring every day", then we must start from our daily life Here, find the rhythm of practice and meet the truth in it.

Late at night.Outside the house, on the blackboard wood and the flame tree, the noisy birds during the day are silent at the moment; only the plantains are reflecting the dim light and dancing against the night wind. I closed the "Avatamsaka Sutra" and was about to go to bed. I silently recited: "When I go to bed, I wish all living beings to have a peaceful body and no turmoil in their hearts." I hope that every living being can be peaceful and peaceful. (This picture is provided by Wu Xiaodan)
