Chapter 13 Garlic Vine said: "Have you stopped?"(11)

Until now, my father likes to grow climbing plants that cover the roof.In my memory, the childhood garlic vines and purple vines climbed up the walls, and the large landscape covered by green shade has now been replaced by the bright red and light yellow interlaced by soft-branched yellow cicadas and soft-branched red cicadas. Time flies, flowers bloom and fall, I am glad that there is still a beautiful scene in my home. For many years, on the streets of small towns in foreign lands, I saw the purple wind chime-like flowers twisted into strings of garlands, hanging on the garage or the wooden fence in front of the door, it is garlic vine! The special garlic vine fragrance of the flowers and leaves is still there, the distant mountains are misty and the autumn is brilliant, but the years have slipped away quietly. In a blink of an eye, I am no longer a little girl shuttling under the purple vines.

Today, looking at the strings of purple garlands, for some reason, a dramatic character in the Buddhist scriptures——Yangulama came to mind.He used to be a murderer with a garland of human fingers, but because he met the Buddha, he transformed into an enlightened saint. Yangdumara's teacher asked him to collect a thousand human fingers. He lay in ambush under a high cliff, and when passers-by approached, he killed them, cut off their fingers, and strung the finger bones into a garland on his chest.Already nine hundred and ninety fingers, he was looking for the last target, but he didn't expect that his mother was walking in front of him.Just as he was about to act, Buddha appeared. He thought to himself: "Since there are others, why should I kill my mother to get my finger?" Yangdumara took up his weapon and followed closely behind the Buddha. But no matter how fast he walked, he could not catch up with the Buddha walking at normal pace.He stopped and yelled, "Stop, Samana!"

Buddha said, "I have stopped, and you should stop too." Yanguramaro said, "You tell me to stop when you are walking; but I have stopped, but you say I have not stopped. What does this mean?" The Buddha replied, "I have stopped doing bad karma to all living beings, but you have not." When Yangdu Moluo heard this, he suddenly realized that he threw down his weapon and vowed to change his mind.He understood that the real "stop" is to stop evil forever, so he asked to follow the Buddha to become a monk and practice, and later proved the holy fruit. "Life is less than a hundred years old, and you often worry about a thousand years old." Think about how many bad karma you have created because you have never stopped worrying and worrying in your life!At the moment when you are entangled by troubles, it seems that there is nothing more serious than this in the world, and it is not a pity to even hurt yourself or others.

But if you take a long-term view, is this trouble really so important that it cannot be solved?Maybe not quite. What really can't stop is my heart chasing troubles! There are purple garlands in front of my eyes, and I ask silently: "Have you stopped?" (This picture is provided by Wu Xiaodan)
