Please forgive my hoarse voice, because the work in our pasta department is very hard, the kitchen is small, the noise is loud, I have to face thousands of questions every day, and my voice has been hoarse for a long time. I am from Yutian Village, Hebei. Due to my family’s financial difficulties, I dropped out of school to work in agriculture before graduating from junior high school. By chance, I came to Peking University—a place that I respect and feel very far away.It is a great honor for me to be able to serve the teachers and students here. Our working environment is very difficult. In summer, we stand by the high-temperature stove to sell, and we have prickly heat all over our body; get ready.Although the pasta department is small, there are more than a dozen dining peaks every day, and nearly 3,000 people come to eat.When I first came, the leader told me to serve enthusiastically, so I asked myself to smile.After a long time, I found that others were not satisfied, because everyone came to the noodle department mainly to eat as soon as possible, and to let teachers and classmates eat as soon as possible, and smiling alone cannot solve the problem.I observed carefully and used my brain, and later found that if we want to satisfy the teachers and students, we must allow them to eat in the shortest possible time.If we want to be fast, we need to increase our speed of selling rice, and if we want to sell rice fast, we need to strengthen our memory.Since then, I have insisted on exercising myself every day after get off work, simulating work procedures, and improving memory.After a period of exercise, I can now remember the requirements of at least 15 guests and ensure that they will be served in the shortest possible time.This job seems simple, but it is difficult to do. Every day, seven or eight stoves are whistling, and the blower is constantly rotating. Facing these groups of guests crowded at the window, I couldn’t laugh at all at the beginning. , I wanted to cry, not to mention remembering the requests of more than a dozen people, my mind went blank, and I couldn’t remember anything. In a fashionable saying, it’s called "faint food".But the majority of teachers and students understand me very well. They said, little sister, don’t worry, take your time, we can wait... If they can wait, I can’t let them wait, so I insist on exercising every day, and now I can serve them more freely.Even though it is inevitable that there will be some mistakes and mistakes, the majority of teachers and students can still understand and forgive me.But I never dreamed that the majority of my classmates rated me as the top ten waiters.
