Chapter 11 Chapter 11 Thick black is the foundation of life

In "The Analects of Confucius? In the chapter of "Xue Er", there is such a passage: "A gentleman focuses on the foundation, and the foundation is established and the Tao is born." This sentence means that a wise person pays attention to the fundamentals in doing things for others. As long as the fundamentals are grasped and the foundations are firm, they will be invincible and will be able to derive richer life wisdom , so as to calmly face the challenges of life. So, what is the "fundamental of life" here? Why did Confucius avoid talking about this when teaching his students? And why did the disciples of Confucius avoid such a crucial question when describing this book?

You know, whether it is ancient or modern, reading is to increase knowledge and wisdom. The saying that a gentleman should do his work has been passed down for nearly three thousand years, and it has been perpetuated and prosperous for a long time, but no one has ever said what the "basic" of a gentleman's important duties is. Isn't this a strange thing? If you don't know what the root of life is, where does the learner start? In fact, there is a reason why Confucius kept silent about what this "base" is.And his disciples also evaded this issue, not for nothing. It's just because this "truth" cannot be said, and once it is revealed, it will bring huge troubles instead.

So what is this "book"?Why would it cause trouble if it is broken? This is because, when many people read books, they often take the meaning out of the text and do not ask for a deep understanding. They only read a few words in the book, and think that they have discovered the true meaning of life.Once we make a mistake and only grasp the superficiality without seeing the essence of life, this kind of life practice will end in a very tragic end. So Confucius refused to explain the "basic" of life. He asked you to think, ponder, and find the answer by yourself. The answer to life is never above the books. No matter how important the proverbs in the books are, if you lack this essential thinking process, these philosophical thoughts on life will have nothing to do with you.

And through the serious study of thick black theory, we will have a flash of inspiration in our brains during a long period of thinking, and suddenly realize that the essence of life that Confucius mentioned here is the word thick black. It is also misleading to say this, but if we change to a more gentle term, the answer will be clear at a glance. The foundation of life is persistence. Why persist?insist on what? Persistence here refers to adhering to our beliefs in life, goals and ideals in life. No matter how small your life goals are, how peaceful your life beliefs are, and how shallow your life ideals are, once you persevere, you will encounter obstacles in the process. Some people don't understand you, some people ridicule you, some people persuade you to give up, if you obey others, then your life will be completely over. There is no belief in survival, no goal in life, even if we live in this world, it is just a body without a soul, and this will never be the life we want.

But if you stick to the beliefs in your heart, stick to your ideals and goals in life, it means that you have rejected other people's "good intentions to dissuade". At this time, even if you refuse to admit it yourself, the hat of thick black has been firmly It is firmly fastened on your head, and you can't take it off even if you want to. At the end of the Qin Dynasty, Han Xin was living on the street with no food or clothing. He was about to starve to death. An old woman took pity on him and brought him food every day.So one day, Han Xin gratefully said to the old woman: "Thank you, old man. When I become prosperous in the future, I will definitely repay you, old man." Thank goodness that you can support yourself one day. I dare not expect anything in return from you."

However, we know that Han Xin is not an idler. He has millions of armored soldiers in his chest. It was he who made Liu Bang ascend the altar, worshiped him as a general, and defeated the Overlord of Western Chu in one fell swoop. And before he got Liu Bang's knowledge, he had to think hard about the art of war every day, so naturally he didn't have extra effort to work hard.If he hadn't had the cheek to let an old woman support him, but rolled up his trouser legs and went to the fields to farm for the sake of his poor dignity, then he would never have the chance to be powerful in the world.

Sticking to your beliefs means that you have to give up immediate efforts and benefits, and even endure humiliation. This kind of giving up, this kind of forbearance, those who know it are called wise, but those who don't know it will laugh at you as a thick-skinned person.Such a difficult problem in life is worrying about advancing and retreating, so Confucius did not mention it, and his disciples also avoided it. Only Houhei Xue has solved this eternal mystery for us.But if we want to grasp these basic philosophies of life, our own thinking is essential.
