He changed his name to Zhao Lian, opened a Zhao Yuji wine shop, delivered wine to the Japanese, worked as a translator to cover up his identity, and engaged in underground activities to rescue overseas Chinese and cultural celebrities.Because of the dangerous environment, he was afraid of making mistakes, so he quit drinking. In September 1945, Yu Dafu was secretly murdered by Japanese military police, and his remains have not been found so far.When the news spread to China, Hu Shi commented on his life and said: "Yu Dafu was born as a wine beauty and died as a patriotic martyr.
