Chapter 76 Use every opportunity to conduct united front work against the Whampoa soldiers[1]

(November 16, 1940) In this North Jiangsu incident[2], the Tax Police Regiment did not participate in the anti-communist war, and most of the cadres of the regiment were Huangpu students. When North China clashed with Zhu Huaibing[3] in the past, one of the divisions did not participate in the anti-communist war, and the cadres of the division also had some Huangpu students.Comrade Wang Shiying, the director of our office in Yan [4], was able to carry out a very good united front work with the senior cadres of Huangpu students of the Central Army (Hu Zongnan [5]) in the area. All this proves that the traditional concept of Huangpu students in our party and army as a general anti-communist group is wrong and harmful. In the current serious situation, it is urgent to correct this concept and use every opportunity to carry out united front work with the soldiers of Huangpu. Instead of stimulating them, we should impress them with the concept of national supremacy so that they will not surrender to the Japanese aggressors and make them against the Japanese invaders. The anti-communist war takes a neutral or negative attitude, which is of great significance to restore the crisis.
