Chapter 27 Chen Yi[1] made contributions during the Civil War and Anti-Japanese War

(March 15, 1944) Comrade Soseki[2] transferred to the Central China Bureau and the Comrades of the Military Subcommittee: Comrade Chen Yi arrived in Yanyan and was very relieved to know the development of the work in Central China. As for the dispute between Comrades Chen and Rao, it is only of the nature of a working relationship. Before Chen left, the two comrades had discussed it face to face, and it is no longer a problem. The Central Committee fully believes that under the leadership of Comrades Chen and Rao and the comrades of the Central China Bureau and the Military Subcommittee, they will be able to work in harmony, implement the Central Committee's line, and strive for victory in the war.The dispute over the area in western Fujian during the civil war was of the nature of several individual issues, not a dispute over the general line, and it had already been correctly resolved. [3] With regard to the work in southern Anhui and southern Jiangsu during the Anti-Japanese War, Comrade Chen Yi followed the central line and cannot be generalized with Comrade Xiang Ying[4].Whether during the civil war or the Anti-Japanese War, Comrade Chen Yi made contributions and did not make mistakes in line.If any comrades are unclear about the above two points, please ask Comrade Soseki to explain.

He suffered heavy losses, and he himself was killed by the reactionaries.
