Chapter 127 Even capable people don't become politicians

It is a pity that none of Japan's current politicians can become a real leader.People who have been educated in China, only know about world trends through TV and newspapers, and do not understand English or IT, can only make some respectful visits even if they go abroad. Moreover, they also ignorantly think that mailboxes and online searches are IT. The nationals of the countries represented by such fossil-like people are considered as stupid as they are. However, this is only the current situation in the political field. In other areas, Japan is also developing future leaders. There must be such leaders in international companies in Japan, or among people who are unknown in Japan but are active abroad.

The problem is, these leaders have turned their backs on Japan's political status quo. It is precisely because they are excellent that they will not join Japan's current illogical and irrational political circles.Because in this country, its political leadership cannot predict the shape of the country in the future, let alone guide and encourage citizens to create a beautiful country together. I've had the experience of being part of that world, and I personally don't think there's anything more stupid than being a politician in this situation. If you become a politician, the knowledge, skills, experience, and experiences you have acquired so hard will all be invalidated. Moreover, you don't need to use your brains to engage in politics, and the more you use your brains, the worse it will be.

In short, in Japan, if you don't reach the level of low IQ, you can't become a politician, and you can't carry out political activities. That is, if you do not meet the criteria of the voters, you will not win the election. During the election, if you said "to cultivate talents no less than China and India" and "use IT technology to make the government form an ERP system", you will definitely not be elected. If you want to be elected, you must use the same level of language as the voters, and keep making proclamations that sound even if they are impossible to achieve.

A manifesto is a wrapper around a policy. How to make this packaging can be said to be the most important job for politicians, but in general, they will order from agencies such as Dentsu. Moreover, even if you want to tell voters some policies that have been thought up although they are not yet perfect, journalists will not understand, and voters will only listen to the commentators on TV saying "right" or "wrong". Do not study the content of it, because they find it too troublesome. In 1995, when I ran for the Tokyo Governor election, I gave a long speech and swore "I will do this".However, the newspaper reporters did not read my manifesto at all, but wrote "useless manifesto without policy" in the newspaper.

With the motivation to never let others say "there is no policy", based on the data that I spent half a year analyzing at McKinsey, I drew up a strategy for fiscal reform in Tokyo. This is something I created using the retirement souvenir McKinsey gave me - the "half-year project team".However, the policies thus created turned out to be utterly useless. If the media can think more about the voters and carefully review the policies and manifestos of the candidates, the voters will at least use their brains to think about it.However, the identity and personality of candidates are more important to the media than policies and manifestos. So I became a "person who loves to die for reason".Isn't "love to death and reason" a very insulting language in Japan?Because what the media and voters like is the impression that "his word should work."Coming up with policies and saying how to do it has become a "love to kill the truth", while those who simply say "do" have been highly praised.

Although I wanted to change Japan through elections, now I realize that thinking is very stupid. So, after I lost the election, I wrote "The Story of Defeat" and decided not to get involved in politics again.
