Chapter 18 what manufacturing elites and authoritative newspapers bring

This is a real example from Tokyo of the big difference between people who don't think and people who do think in this "lost decade". In recent years, although there have been many upstarts, they at least use their brains to think about how to avoid risks. However, the IQ of most Japanese people is declining and they become thoughtless. Fueling this trend is still the media, especially some authoritative newspapers and TV media. It is no exaggeration to say that these media are committing crimes. In Japan, people who work in the media are regarded as industry elites and intellectuals.Because students with better academic performance now go to work in the media after passing numerous exams. So based on this phenomenon, it can be concluded that those who work in the media are second only to those who want to work in politics after graduating from the University of Tokyo.

Their duty is to use their excellent minds to disclose bad phenomena in society, monitor government behavior, and report from angles that ordinary people have never paid attention to. This is especially the duty of journalists. However, now 80% of the news materials of journalists come from the reporter club, and their daily work is to make changes to the original titles. It is said that 67% of the materials of authoritative newspapers are previously published. If that were the case, the journalist's job would be no different than making propaganda.Just imagine if this situation continues for 20 years, I am afraid that even the basic skills of being a reporter will be lost.

Not only that, but in Japan, if any newspaper has great influence, it will be recruited by the government to serve as a member of various review committees. In the past, journalists always kept a certain distance from the government and power, but now journalists no longer have such integrity. Some editorial committee members of major newspapers even work as two or three review committees. The result is that no hard questions can be asked, even to the government.Under the influence of unhealthy trends in the government agencies and units that serve as sources of information, the media will not point out any problems at all.

If such a person is the president, then no matter how good the materials or materials are, the reporters below will not be employed in the end. Of course, there is also the possibility that the reporters themselves do not work hard or are lazy. But in contrast, the problems of organizational structure are much deeper. For example, if Akira, the wife of a Democrat dubbed "Mr. Pension," had exposed issues about "lost pensions" and "bar taxis," we would never have known about it.Of course, journalists from authoritative newspapers would know about this. Just read the Nikkei and you'll find jokes that don't even know about a global recession.

I once wrote an article titled "The global economic crisis is coming, and 100 Japanese banks will go bankrupt" in "Benyichunqiu", but at the same time, "Nikkei" published an article similar to "Nikkei will reach 30,000 points", "Nikkei will exceed 26,000 points" and other extremely confusing reports. When the Nikkei fell to 18,000 points, I wrote an article saying "it may fall to 8,000 points", but the "Nikkei" reported that "it will rise to 23,000 points."What's more, invite George Soros to give a speech saying that the Nikkei will rise to 23,000 points.

However, on April 28, 2003, when the Nikkei closed at an all-time low of 7,603, I was not surprised that the Nikkei didn't even have an explanation. Therefore, it is not a joke to say that "reading the Nikkei will mislead you to understand the Japanese economy", and I believe that the Nikkei itself will have no objection to this. What I would like to point out is that this is not the fault of a certain reporter, but that Nikkei, as a company, has problems in its system itself. There is evidence to say so.For example, the outstanding talents in their enterprises are extremely proficient in the industry, and they also have some inside information about the government. In addition, some people will write some commendable reports or articles once they resign and become free agents.

Therefore, the key problem of the low "collective IQ" of authoritative newspapers lies in their own organizational and institutional deficiencies. In short, the authoritative newspapers in Japan can no longer play the role they used to play. Therefore, those ordinary people who can only get information through the media will gradually become ignorant and can only live under the shadow of the "spell". At the beginning of the global economic recession, there were not such a variety of media means, so we could only blindly listen to the reports of authoritative newspapers. But now the times have changed, the Internet spreads all over the world, and almost all the information in the world can be shared. Despite this, in daily life, most Japanese people still regard TV and newspapers as the main source of news as before. what else can we do?

In order to cater to the government, some authoritative newspapers have been making nonsense such as "the current form is better than the present", because such newspapers do not convey a sense of crisis, so the people who read these newspapers do not have a sense of crisis.
