Chapter 15 writing instructions

Here's how and why I wrote this book: 1. Authenticity: All the articles in this book are actual cases that I encountered in the past six years when I consulted students at the New Oriental Consulting Office. All cases are real life stories that happened in the New Oriental Consulting Office and around me, and are based on real people and real events. This book is a non-fictional, documentary work. For the privacy of these classmates and friends in the book, some technical processing has been done on the names of people, most of the school names, and some of the city names.I want to make sure that in the cases I have written, no one will be able to guess who they are except for the protagonists who know they are themselves.Although in the final analysis, it doesn't matter even if you guess it: because this book is not a description of personal privacy, but a description, guidance and planning of the typical living conditions of New Oriental students. These guidelines and plans should be of great inspiration and guidance to you, to thousands of latecomers, or to strugglers who are struggling in the mud.

2. Guidance: Studying abroad requires thinking, and life requires design.I hope that my readers and students can compare and analyze the various cases in the book with their own situation, and design a struggle plan for themselves. It is my only purpose to write this book to guide readers to correctly plan their own struggle path.Entertaining readers is just a by-product of effectively instructing. 3. Necessity: I am a liberal, so is Liberal in English. The so-called happiness and future do not need anyone's guidance, and there is no standard of right or wrong, as long as you feel happy yourself. It's as if Confucius was very happy when he "never tires of fine food and fine meat", but Yan Hui was quite comfortable with "drinking with a pot of oatmeal"-both are in the realm of a saint.I respect personal choice. Some readers may think that I shouldn't give wordy "guidance" on my personal future here. However, after all, values are constantly changing.Since it is constantly changing, it needs to be guided. The strategy of going abroad also needs guidance, and the study abroad plan also needs to be designed by experts. These are actually all technical things. It is a pity that Chinese families are relatively slow to respond to the rapidly changing social form, from adjusting their own concepts to the struggle of their children's education, with relatively closed information, rigid policies, outdated education, and outdated concepts. Often ridiculous. Thus, a series of elegy, poem and aria were born. The fate of these strugglers constitutes the flesh and blood of "Tuqiong Dialogue Records", and also creates the necessity of "Tuqiong Dialogue Records".

4. Supplementary: New Oriental has made great contributions to the cause of studying abroad in contemporary China. And the greater the contribution, the heavier the historical responsibility it shoulders.Because of its monopoly, it is very important whether it consciously and actively assumes social public value. The so-called social public value, on the issue of studying abroad, is: it should not only be satisfied with giving students the necessary English training and exam training, but also give enough attention and help to the future and future of hundreds of thousands of diligent students.Friends and classmates who trust New Oriental's overseas exam training can get more guidance and inspiration about their future. This "Tuqiong Dialogue Record" and other works of New Oriental on the thought and technology of studying abroad are some supplementary contributions made by me and my colleagues in New Oriental to the above-mentioned social responsibilities through individual and team efforts.

5. Perfection: Finally, I propose an idea, and invite friends from all walks of life to think: In China, there is already a complete and powerful system of general education at all levels from primary school to university graduate school.Every institution has its own complete system, which is engaged in the sacred work of cultivating talents, although there are also things in this system that urgently need to be reformed. But the study abroad business, which is also related to the growth of talents, and is a major cause for the growth of high-level talents, where is there any system and system in China? For a non-governmental training organization like New Oriental, it is not easy to achieve what it is today, although there are still many things it should do.I personally hope that the publication of "Tuqiong Dialogue Record" will receive positive responses from all walks of life.In the end, let the business of studying abroad, life consultation, and future design become a great business that is developed, prosperous, and reliable.Since New Oriental has been recognized by the society as the largest training base for overseas students in China, it should make the greatest contribution to this prosperity.
