Chapter 40 Section 21 regards homosexuality as a scourge

"Are you talking about your ex-girlfriend?" I asked. "Yeah, isn't my ex-girlfriend a bit weird?" Laura showed a coy look.I always thought that Laura was purely straight, but at that moment, I understood that Laura was actually bisexual. "So, what's wrong with your ex-girlfriend?" I asked with the flow. "She's still messing with me. I tell her it's over between us, but she's still on." "Isn't it a good thing that someone loves you dearly?" I quipped. "Infatuated? Well, it would be great if she was really infatuated."

"You mean that if she is infatuated with you, you would actually like to be with her." "Men and women are the same. I can't figure out the triangle relationship with men, and I can't figure it out with women." "Triangles with women?" I repeated. "Did you know? She has her lover, girlfriend and wife" "Her lover, girlfriend, and wife?" At first it sounded comical, and I was trying to understand the relationship between a woman's lover, girlfriend, and wife.I asked, "What's the difference between a lover and a girlfriend?"

"A lover is a hole, a girlfriend is an intimate relationship, and a wife lives together and manages the housework together." Laura was willing to explain this peculiar relationship to me. "A lover is a hole?" Although I vaguely guessed the sexual meaning of "hole", I was still not sure of its true meaning. "A hole is a woman's hole!" Laura laughed. "That kind of woman is actually a whore for women." Listening to Laura explaining the meaning of "lover" in this way, I couldn't help laughing from the bottom of my heart. I remember that in China before the 1980s, people commonly called their spouses "lover". I still remember an old overseas Chinese who returned to China , someone kindly asked him why his lover didn’t come with them, but the old overseas Chinese was furious, thinking that he had been insulted for nothing. It’s really interesting that the same word has very different meanings on both sides of the world. However, I later researched other Americans that the word "lover" is a word with a broad meaning. In fact, both spouses and boyfriends and girlfriends can be called "lover", as long as both parties understand it.

Some words also have subtly different meanings in different parts of the United States. One of my Chinese students wanted to give himself an English name "Cherry" and asked me if it was a good name. This word means cherry in English, and it also means hymen. The subconscious meaning of the girl's English name is very clear, and she wants to show that she is still a virgin. But the strange thing is that I have never seen a girl named with this word in the United States, so when I was in Chicago, I asked an American linguistics master Ruben about this issue.Reuben told me that the word "Cherry" is only used by prostitutes in America.I was very surprised when I heard it, and hurriedly told the Chinese girl that she must not use this English name.Later in New York, I asked my American colleague Bill the same question in the clinic, but Bill replied that girls can use this name, and "Cherry" is not reserved for prostitutes in New York.I didn't believe it, so I asked other people, but I didn't expect the New Yorker's answer to be the same. This naturally raises an interesting question. Wouldn't a New York girl named "Cherry" be considered a prostitute if she came to Chicago? But such embarrassment should rarely occur, because I have never met a New York girl named "Cherry" in New York.

Back to the topic, I asked Laura: "So, your relationship with her is a girlfriend relationship!" "Yes, when I was completely disappointed in men, I naturally wanted to find true love with women, but after experiencing it, I know that women and men are actually the same in essence." "It's all the same." I gently repeated Laura's emotion, and then I asked again: "What is the difference between a lover and a girlfriend?" "A lover is a hole, and a girlfriend is actually a hole. The difference is that one is always open, and the other is only opened when I have feelings. Now I have no feelings for her, so I also have feelings for her." Closed, but she didn't give up and kept harassing me."

"Would you change your mind if she cut off all the other messy relationships and just wanted to be with you?" I hypothesized. "This is impossible. What I pursue is true love in the world. In fact, I am not gay. I only turned to women after I was disappointed with men. When I found that women are no different from men, why should I be trapped in it? Woolen cloth?" Laura's words did not express people's desire for true love.In fact, regardless of homosexuality, bisexuality, or heterosexuality, the origin of love that people pursue is the same. Therefore, we really don’t need to regard homosexuality as a scourge. We should regard the lack of love in the world as the top priority we must face.
