The need to preserve ourselves requires us to love ourselves more than anything else, and as a direct result of this emotion, we like whatever is good for our survival.At first, this proviso is purely unconscious.It is purely blind instinct that we tend to those that contribute to our happiness, and to dislike those that do us harm.
