Chapter 8 to practice repeatedly

This last point is the most important one we emphasize.Even if you have forgotten the first few aspects now, you must remember this: the most important, final, and always effective way to cultivate self-confidence in speeches is to speak. In fact, the most necessary thing to develop self-confidence is: practice!practise!Practice again! This is a requirement for all other methods. "Without it, there's nothing to talk about." Rose Walter warned: "People who are new to speech are prone to 'mania'." "Mania" is a state of extreme excitement, which is completely different from shyness. It is easy to catch this emotion when a speaker faces a large audience for the first time, or meets a rival of his own sex for the first time, or is in an argument with someone else. Therefore, what such a speaker lacks is not courage but the need to control emotions and keep a calm head. And to get these, you should do practical training.A speaker must gain complete control over his emotions through habit and constant practice of self-control.Self-control is actually a habit in terms of constant effort and constant exercise of willpower. If a speaker absorbs something good with each exercise, he will grow stronger and stronger.

Do you want to dispel public fear? So, first let us figure out what causes this psychology. In "The Source of Ideas," Professor Robinson writes, "Fear arises from ignorance or uncertainty about what is being said." In other words: it is the result of a lack of confidence in yourself. So, what caused this to happen? It's because you don't know what you can actually do, and it's your inexperience that limits your abilities. When you have a successful experience, this fear will disappear, just like the sun appears in the cloudy weather. One thing we know for sure: the way to learn to swim is to get in the water yourself. Now, this book has been read for a long time, so why not put it down and start actual work?

Now, you should choose a topic that you like and know something about, and organize a three-minute speech. Then, practice repeatedly. If you can, go to a group of people who want to hear you speak, or in front of your friends, and do your best to show off your talents.
