Chapter 5 Make the sound more powerful and elastic

When you stand in front of the audience, you have to invest yourself in the speech and concentrate on creating a psychological and emotional impact on the audience, so that you can speak more powerfully and powerfully than what you get from books. When we use our thoughts to communicate with the audience, we must use our entire vocal organs and other parts of the body.We shrug, wave our arms, frown, turn up the volume, change the pitch, faster or slower depending on the occasion and subject matter. But it’s best to understand that this is an effect, not a cause.Tone shift regulation is actually an effect of our mental and emotional state. This is why it is necessary to understand and have a strong interest in the topic before the speech. At the same time, this is why we eagerly discuss the subject with our audience.

As we grow older, most people lose the innocence and spontaneity of childhood, and the patterns of physical and vocal communication become unknowingly rigid. His speech became less and less angry, and he became less and less willing to use gestures, let alone change the volume of the volume in cadence. In a word, we lose the liveliness and spontaneity of real conversation.Perhaps we have developed the habit of speaking too quickly or too slowly, and at the same time we are carelessly disorganized in our choice of words and sentences.I stress over and over again to be natural, and you may be mistaken for thinking that I condone a poor choice of words, or a monotonous expression. On the contrary, what I want naturally is to express my ideas completely and fully.Taken individually, good orators will never admit that they have lost the ability to absorb new words, to enrich images and diction, or to change the form of language expression, or to enhance expressive power. These are the whetstones on which the aspirant seeks to refine himself.

You try to find a tape recorder and other equipment to measure your own characteristics in terms of volume, pitch change and speed. It is also useful to ask friends to evaluate it, and it is better to have expert advice. But these are exercises without the audience, and caring about your skill in front of an audience is far more important to effectively expressing your ideas. When you stand in front of the audience, you have to invest yourself in the speech and concentrate on creating a psychological and emotional impact on the audience, so that you can speak more powerfully and powerfully than what you get from books.
