Gao Gang (1905-1954) was born in Gaojiagou, Wuzhen Township, Hengshan County, Shaanxi Province.His original name was Gao Chongde, and his courtesy name was Shuoqing.Born in a poor peasant family. In 1922, he was admitted to Hengshan County First Senior Primary School.Affected by his party activities, he organized a student self-government association and served as the chairman of the student union. He was expelled from the school for participating in progressive activities.Later, he was admitted to the school by Du Bincheng, the head of Yulin Middle School.
